“Met a friend here last Monday evening for a catch up and some food. What a lovely place and quite busy for a Monday evening. The Lady who looked after us was really nice i think her name was Sarah and she really looked after us. We asked for some recommendations as we didn’t know what to have. Sarah recommended the chicken chorizo flatbread or the fish and chips. We went for one of each and both were outstanding. i would definitely recommend. we will be coming back to the left arms very soon. thank you for looking after us x”

“Canal side pub with good choice of drinks and pub-style food. Staff are very welcoming & friendly, they were very quick with food service, really good to be given such individual service. Food was presented nicely, arrived hot and was tasty - burger with blue cheese & mushrooms was really good. My sister had the steak pie & mash which she said was full of lean tender beef. Her only criticism was the gravy tasted a little like ‘bisto’, if it had been made from the pie filling juices then that would have been more to her taste. Difficult to fault this place, £34 for the meal and drinks for two. Give it a try!”

“Best pub in Eccles. It's absolutely beautiful. Beer garden is decent enough as well. But the staff are brilliant and an easy place to pop in on your own and have a good hours chat with whoever is about. Stout always well served”

“Had our Christmas do here on Friday. Staff were SO lovely and efficient, food was phenomenal. The vegan mushroom pie was excellent, plenty of extra gravy provided. Really nice night thank you.”

“Fantastic old historic pub just refurbished and reopened underneath the famous Stockport Viaduct, the largest brick-only construction in the world. They serve Boddingtons and many other great cask conditioned ales. Recommended.”

“This is our 2nd visit here ( we dont live locally) so our visita are far apart. The food on both occasions was delicious. We shared the CAMEMBERT for two, with 4 slices of toasted Ciabatta and red onion relish. Extremely tasty. I had the Lentil Cottage pie with vegetables. Really tasty. Hunters chicken was very tasty too. We ate outside. Then went inside for a coffee and to investigate this lovely old house. I read and looked at the photographs on the walls and found out it had belonged to The Boddington Family. Staff were lovely. Very helpful and friendly.”

“What a lovely evening I have just had for my daughter’s 11th birthday family meal. I booked a table online and requested a table near the window which we got and then as a surprise at the end of the meal the chef brought out a cake and the staff sang happy birthday to my daughter which I wasn’t expecting. All the staff were superb. I’m afraid I didn’t catch their names but a blond lady and a tall lad with longer hair looked after us and a female chef. They all deserve massive praise. Constantly checking we were all ok and dealing with my sisters gluten free dietary requirements (she was impressed and happy that you kept everything separate and even more happy she got a carvery with gluten free Yorkshires and gravy!). The food was as expected- pub grub, great quantity and taste. We all left full of happiness and full bellies and that’s all we want from a family outing! So thankyou”

“I had my wedding here last weekend and it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!!!! The day was everything we hoped for and so so much more, and so much of that is down to the freedom the venue gave us to do things exactly how we wanted and the BRILLIANT staff!!!! I cannot recommend this venue enough - We had our wedding breakfast, speeches and evening reception there, and it was all just amazing. “Lovely, small hotel. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Nice pub too, Excellent breakfast. We stayed one night for the standedge tunnel canoe trip. Stayed here on Friday night and then the owner gave us a lift to marsden on sat morning to join the canoe trip. Diggle end of the tunnel is 200m from the hotel. Recommended.”

“Lovely pub in Old Glossop. Stayed for a night on a walking weekend. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were really friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious - one of us had a roast dinner with amazing cauliflower cheese. The other two shared delicious tapas, highlight was the ribs and the feta salad. A lovely pub, highly recommend.”

“Stayed one night with my partner, had the dinner for two deal. Stud bar was excellent, barman friendly and made a mean cocktail. Reception and restaurant staff were also friendly and helpful. The food and atmosphere in the restaurant were of really high quality and the breakfast was also amazing. Would recommend. Rooms and facilities were first rate.”
