“Really enjoyed my stay here, the staff were outstanding and hospitable, the bar next to the lobby had a welcoming, cozy feel, wonderful menu and lovely rooms. I'm not sure about some of the complaints on the size, it seemed average to me, but it was very clean which is high on my importance list, as was the rest of the hotel. This hotel is away from the city bustle a bit, but a lot of trees around the property make it very relaxing and a pleasure to escape the traffic. My only feedback is the vegan sausage in the morning was freezer burned and a little bland, they can be tossed in oil & seasoning to add flavor, but fresh/defrosted is best. My veg pizza was wonderful, so was the veg burger. Great buffet in morning. Outstanding staff professionalism in housekeeping and lobby.”

“Don’t believe the bad reviews. Hotel is clean, breakfast is good value, location is good. Tram stop behind pub. Very convenient. Lovely pub serving food across the road beside tram stop. Avoid the pizzeria next door to hotel. Good car park just seconds from reception. Shortage of power sockets in rooms, bring a power strip. Lovely staff. I will return.”

“This was a great place to stay! I was a bit cautious due to some of the reviews, but it was perfect for a night stay before the airport. The receptionist was shy and not talkative but still smiling and checked us in efficiently. Our room was easy to get to, clean, and had some tea and coffee which was lovely. The shared bathroom was also very clean and not often used, so it was great to get a cheap room for value. I would recommend staying here.”

“We needed somewhere to crash for an extended period of time before a flight. The staff here were very helpful when we arrived. We can not fault the guy on the phone and the lady on site for how good they were to us. The room was a lot more spacious than expected and it had the cricket test on the telly. The bed wasn’t amazing, but the room was cheap so we were not expecting the Ritz. We got lunch nearby at San Carlo, which was very close and tasty.”

“I can't understand why this stunning hotel has only 3 stars! I was completely enchanted, just standing in front of this very old building with its wealth of ornate detailing and its very interesting history. I was blown away by the enormous chandelier in the lobby and highly ornate and unusual stairs and stair bridges. You can learn about the history in various places throughout the hotel. I had a good look around and was captivated! I was fortunate enough to see it in its full Christmas glory aswell. Fitting that the Nutcracker soldiers guard the stairs. The hotel was very, very clean, very atmospheric (!). Very warm and inviting. My room had everything I needed and the bar was very relaxed and lovely, unusual with its interesting features and spacious like the rest of the hotel. The staff are helpful and polite. Check in and out was easy. What more could you need? I would definitely recommend and would absolutely stay there again.”

“Absolutely brilliant. If you are flying from Manchatten airport port. It's less expensive than booking the airport parking. Only slight downside. For a 6 am flight the shuttle bus doesn't run until 3:00 am. Even then veezu is around 20 quid.”

“My wife booked this place and looking at the reviews, I was a bit dubious about staying there. We ended up having a great stay. Ok the hotel is a little dated but the room was clean and quiet. The receptionist was lovely and I thank her very much for her help. Easy access via the number 59 bus into and out of the city centre. Had dinner the first night in the adjacent pub and spoke to a lovely couple that said it has recently been taken over and things are a improving.. had a great stay and would recommend. Thanks.”

“Very beautiful space with good food. The options are decent enough for the type of setting. They have a kids menu as well. We had the chicken and bacon club sandwich, sweet potato fries and halloumi fries. The food looked good and tasted really great. Some seats were just beside the window that overlooks the ski. There's also a balcony that gives a good view of the ski”

“I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the hotel after reading previous reviews however it seems the owner's of this hotel have gone to a real effort to turn things around, everything was laid out perfectly for us the bed was made nicely and the bath run really nice with hot water, and with folded towels on the bed and free soap show minor details which would be expected on rooms much more expensive. Highly recommend for families my kids loved it. Also great location.”

“Booked a room for the Halloween weekend, had a wonderful experience, was greeted very politely by the receptionist who made me feel very welcomed, after reading the reviews I wasn’t really looking forward to my stay however on arrival I was shocked at how good of a level of service I received and how clean and tidy the rooms were, it was like I was walking into a brand new hotel. I was told by new staff members that the hotel is under new management hence the change in standards. I was very pleased with my stay and would recommend all my friend and family to also stay at this hotel when visiting Manchester as it’s one of the nicest budget hotels I’ve ever stayed at.”

“Superior smiles is more like a spa than a dentist! I actually enjoying going for appointments, which I have never done previous to being a client here! Everything about it is just lovely! The staff are amazing, from the beautiful Carolyn who greets you upon arrival through to all members of clinical team - Sarah has looked after me for a couple of years now and is just the best ! Rachel and Albert are just fabulous, their attention to detail to create the perfect smile is amazing and I wouldn’t go anywhere else! “We had a lovely welcome, chocolates on the bed, bottles of water and tea & coffee and biscuits along with a kettle in the room, which was spotless and comfortable. Breakfast was superb and nothing was to much trouble. We will definitely be back.”

“We had a lovely stay at the Garden Apartment a few weeks ago. It is beautifully furnished, was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Especially the beds. Having driven up from London with elderly parents it was just what we needed. The owners had very kindly stocked up the fridge and freezer which came in very handy for breakfast next morning. And was truly appreciated. As was the Netflix and music streaming on Alexa. We also noticed plenty of board games and dvds for families with younger children. Would definitely recommend .”

“So this was the first time us leaving our cat in a Cattery due to him being diabetic and he needed extra care. Lisa made us feel so at ease and seeing reviews she had cared for other diabetic cats was a relief. We were delayed by 27hrs on our return and nothing was too much to help or bother for the extra night needed. Highly recommend. Love me, Dan and Bentley :)”

“Left our dog wilf for a week knowing that we could go away and relax knowing that he would be happy without us. Absolutely over the moon today picking him up how happy he was and how clean and how beautiful he smelt. I honestly think if he could talk he would tell us what a fabulous holiday he has had . “Another wonderful stay at the beautiful Rushop Hall this Easter holidays. We'd previously stayed here twice before in the bedrooms above the dining area of which both rooms were relaxing, comfortable and beautifully decorated. This time we'd decided to try the Pepper Pot, and we were blown away with the high standard. Particularly the attention to detail of this little cottage and the sheer comfort it provided us for our two night stay. Jan & Neil are amazing hosts, and provide you with exceptional customer service. Which has the right balance of being very welcoming but allowing you, your personal space-Really love this about them. Nothing is never too much trouble, so please ask them! Breakfast is delicious and beautifully cooked. Loved the additional fresh fruit & yogurt etc. Location is perfect, remote and relaxing with stunning views. Perfect surroundings for a wonderful nights sleep and of course beautiful views to wake up to in the morning. Thank you for making our stay just as delightful as it was 7 years ago. “Hosts very welcoming as I arrived late and they organised a taxi for me . Bed was very comfortable clean and tidy room and bathroom. I was in awe at the view from the breakfast room / lounge - amazing views of the Diglea valley - sheep and lambs in fields - hens clucking around the car park . I chose my breakfast which was freshly cooked whilst I admired the views and peace . The hosts were kind and gave lots of information about the history of the area . A definite recommended from me .”
