Dining experience tips in Manchester

“We moved away from Didsbury about 5 years ago, so it was so nice coming back to our favourite brunch place and finding it still as good as (if not better than) before! Vast food and drink choices, and served with a smile. Hard to beat!”

“Went today 10-1-2025 at 16:00. It was a team meal we are all gas engineers couldn't park in the car park as are vans height is 2.4meters and the car park limit is 2 metres so had to park on a dark road, really wasn't impressed, took the first picture of the back, well make your own mind up, the front entrance is a little dated but clean and warm, very welcoming staff, was shown to our designated table at the far side of the restaurant, 8 men ordered their food with impressive staff and knowledge, drinks came first with no wait, then the poppadoms came crispy and plenty of sauces, , 15 mins later the starters came, I had the garlic chicken, it looks great chicken was dry but kinda edible, all the lads ate theirs, to be honest think the starters are expensive and small in portion size, mains came I have a mixed tandoori sizzler looks a bit of all the same, a bit of a mishmash, but it was tasty and the curry sauce that it came with was ok, it's a messy dish but didn't get much for 18quid, the staff hovered around felt somewhat uncomfortable, so the meal finished all in all was ok, would I ask or want to go again definitely no, coming out to the main road as it was dark their are small floor metal 12 inches high barriers couldn't see them fell and made a mess of my knee going to off my legs for a few weeks now really not impressed if I could had parked in the car park this wouldn't have happened”

“This pub is a old fashioned gem it has still got its old-fashioned styled rooms and snug it has that quaint appeal to it, and it's a propper locals pub. There is a really good range of Robinsons hand pumped ales on offer today from Robinsons Keep up good work people involved with this pub”

“What an absolute gem of a place, huge place filled with all sorts of wonderful bits and pieces. Two floors of excellent quality good sturdy furniture. If you find a piece but its not quite the right colour have a chat with them and they see what they can do to lighten/darken it to suit you. Excellent find lovely place. even lovelier people that run the place (so sorry My memory is shocking when it comes to names) nothing it to much for them. Will be back when me and the other half get our house”

“Made a purchase from TJLevy's after a long internet search to find the most price competitive supplier for four Skovby chairs to match my dining table. As well as a good price they provided excellent customer service particularly when I found a manufacturing default with one of the chairs not long after delivery. They couldn't have been more helpful in sorting out a replacement and delivering it on a date to suit me. Will definitely use again.”

“I ordered a wall clock airplane Clock for my wife. It was on offer and we had seen similar at other vendors for quite a lot more so we were pleased with the price but worried about buying online. We needn't have worried olive and Sage communicated very well their intentions to deliver and delivered before I expected, communicating all the time. Great product, great service, and very happy.”

“A truly wonderful place for an authentic Italian meal and fabulous atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. Although there are a few Domus Italia or Casa Italia restaurants in Manchester the Didsbury one does not feel like it part of a chain of faceless restaurants. It has a family run vibe and individual atmosphere. It's not a big place but that makes it so much nicer.”

“Had the triple chocolate fudge cookie dough, was really nice. Great customer service, polite and friendly. Inside is very modern and clean, the flower wall and neon sign is a great design touch. Would highly recommend to others, and will definitely come back to try the savoury food as well as the desserts.”

“I used to live in Glossop, at a time when the Raj Gourmet brought something completely new to local curries. Every time I go back I hope it won't have lost its magic. All the curries here are completely different, so I can never decide and usually go for two very different dishes. Tonight I went for prawn pathia, chicken moglai, mushroom rice, and paratha. The pathia has lots of slivers of green chillis - eat them and it's deliciously vindaloo strength, leave them and it' a really good, rich sweet & sour curry. The moglai is smooth, indulgent, and nutty without the annoying sweetness of lots of similar curries. (The portions are still huge, so I'll be eating this tomorrow too). How they've managed to sustain the quality without increasing the prices, I don't know, but I love this place.”

“I went to a wake here. The staff were really lovely. The pub service was flawless. The buffer was perfect so I thank them very much for helping us to reaffirm our family business nds after our very sad times.”

“This is our 2nd visit here ( we dont live locally) so our visita are far apart. The food on both occasions was delicious. We shared the CAMEMBERT for two, with 4 slices of toasted Ciabatta and red onion relish. Extremely tasty. I had the Lentil Cottage pie with vegetables. Really tasty. Hunters chicken was very tasty too. We ate outside. Then went inside for a coffee and to investigate this lovely old house. I read and looked at the photographs on the walls and found out it had belonged to The Boddington Family. Staff were lovely. Very helpful and friendly.”

“Returned today to buy a marbled topped side table, the young man who served us had been extremely helpful. We bought a console a couple of weeks before and wanted a side table to match. He phoned around branches to locate one and also ordered another one from the warehouse so we could choose, as the marble tops were quite different. He was so courteous and extremely patient and a credit to your company.”

“When you go to the store there is no sales people forcing you to buy.My wife and I found a fantastic selection of furniture. We were looking for a 3 seater &a 2 seater recliner which we found a fantastic price we have just had delivered.The 2 lads that came were very polite and friendly took great care of or purchase. “Once again they have delivered, I come here regularly, called again today with my two daughters who live in Canada. The place is always well lit and spotless, such an important trait, we chose our food and sat waiting to be called to collect our food. The girls were as impressed as myself, the food is so fresh and with the selection of salad and sauces available it only adds to the experience. I managed to clear my plate,( no surprise there) my daughters had to admit defeat and take some home to enjoy later.”

“Lovely cafe,the place was mad busy there was a Christmas fayre on. The busy staff were still friendly. We ordered a roast beef dinner,chilli and rice and two teas. All lovely. The Christmas fayre seemed to be well attended too.”

“Ocean Tresaure Seafood Restaurant is an old and long history Chinese Restaurant in Greengate Industrial Estate, Middleton, Manchester. This restaurant has a very traditional Chinese upholstery with Chinese antique furniture and decoration. A spacious dining hall which it can occupy any banquet by over 40 tables. The Chinese dim sums are good worth having a long - time driving taken from the City centre to there. We took the bus 117 from the Oldham Street bus terminal but it had at least a 30-minute travel. When in return, it is advisable to better have the bus 112 which takes a shorter travel time. This Restaurant has a praise of mouth from gourmets by its friendly and nice staff, quality of dim sums, fried rice, fresh and live lobsters etcs and a comfortable dining hall sitting in.”

“Great chippy pie or mixed meat dinners are mega nice and less than £6 kim nice to chat to gravy nice defo one to try out best chippy in Salford nothing over £7 in price and all dot on nice meals with plenty to eat care in the cooking”

“Came in for a few drinks a couple of weeks ago and I would recommend this pub to anyone. All the staff were friendly, but Kerry really stuck out to me. She is a breath of fresh air, always smiling and Nothing was to much hard work for her. Such a lovely girl and a great assist to you.”
