“Pretty little hotel on country road”

“Just the best. Can't fault anything from welcome to departure. We stayed in the Barn which was amazing. Lovely touch of the essential food baket on arrival. Quality decor and furnishings. The rooms were spacious and the hot tub was an added bonus. Alan was on hand if needed (which he wasnt). Location beautiful and totally relaxed on departure. Well worth the trip up from London.”

“What a fabulous, happy yard this is! The horses are so well looked after and loved. Greg and the staff are so friendly, helpful and fun. Thanks especially to Evie who took me on my hack, lovely girl.. and to my trusty steed Patch, a real gent xx”

“Just been on the 3 hour Sunday Lunch cruise, it was excellent; the food and service is first rate and better than many 'dry-land' restaurants, the chef deserves a special mention, superb ! Will definitely be booking again.”

“Beautiful scenery, there were a little rocky/sandy beach too. Lovely day out. We walked about 5 miles. It has ups and downs, so the surface is not flat which we liked. There was a pay and display carpark but the security didn't let us in as it was full. We parked up the road. Free of charge. Went in beginning of August.”

“Stunning walk along canal and locks down towards Aqueduct and Viaduct. Some steep parts if you want to go under both. Nice and clean unmolested by rubbish.”

“We have been here twice now for our work Christmas meal as well as various times throughout the year and we have always found the venue to be very friendly and welcoming. The menu is ideal for me. Thank you so much for making our Christmas meal a lovely event.”

“Great NT place, visited lots of times but this time, as well as using the very good cafe, we walked through the estate onto the path by the runway. Saw lots of planes taking off and landing. The grandchildren loved it!! Family membership well worth it!”

“A really great place for a walk especially with our dog. We tend to do the llama farm loop then back along the canal towpath towards Swizzles before heading towards the Rock Inn & down the path back to the riverside park. Other alternatives include keeping on the path past the llama farm to Cowgill farm then cross the road to the footpath under the railway line up to a bridleway which gives options to go to the road & down towards Hare and Hounds or carry on to Big Stone...(see photos)”

“A pretty little gardens, great in all seasons, especially autumn when all the leaves change colour. In spring the flowers are beautiful and vibrant. Good place for a short walk with the dog, although dogs are kept on leads which is good for nervous dogs or puppies.”

“Absolutely beautiful place! We stayed in the deluxe family room with our 4 month old which was really big with two bedrooms open to each other joined by steps with a king bed and double bed. You can reach the bedroom via the path outside which is good for a pram, or via the stairs through the pub. The owner and all staff are extremely friendly and chatty. We stayed for one night and had breakfast which was a lovely cooked breakfast with a good choice, and they also had cereal and yoghurt options with fresh juices, The bar is welcoming and had a good selection of drinks, also had their lovely little dogs walking round too. It’s very popular and busy, we stayed in October so I can imagine it’s very popular in the summer. The kids playground was good too with the animals in it and two lovely goats. We’d highly recommend this pub either for food or to stay too, and we’d love to return.”

“We had a lovely two day stay here..rooms were warm and clean with a great view from our window. Good home cooked breakfast. The owner was helpful and friendly Good location for walking, Sett valley trail and peak district area. Would recommend it if you are coming to this area.”

“Halloween event. Lots of things to do. Friendly helpful staff. Loved stroking the animals. Great entertainment from a fabulous band called Trilogy.”

“Lovely nature reserve with well maintained hides. Nice cafe, and reasonably tidy public toilets although they are only open when the cafe is open. Ample parking, reasonably priced. Look forward to the reopening of the lower car park as enjoyed the walk up to the lake. The Bunting hide is my favourite. There is also a great upgraded kids play area.”

“A beautiful park with lots of easy walks around a gorgeous lake ,there is a large car park and nice clean toilets. A great little cafe and an ice cream van in the summer. A great place to visit all year round.”

“Nice area for walk, picnic, and get together. Views are awesome, 3 tracks for walk, including one middle of the lake. One side lake and one side river. Nice view of mountains and forest from parking side of lake. Lot of sitting places. Parking available 0.9 £ per hour, need cash or through App. Need some maintenance and cleaning.”

“Peel Park was the first public park in the United Kingdom to be officially opened, with all funds raised from public subscription. It was created in 1846 and was free to use, connecting together all Salford residents .”

“Absolutely love Strinesdale foot paths and 2 large Reservoir's that allow fishing. It also has free parking and is that vast of a space you can walk round it and not bump in to anyone. Strinesdale also has a few picnic areas and amazing views out to the Pennines. There are 3 different routes you can take for that casual stroll or if you are looking to explore of the beat and track you can end up right in the hills and come out at a little farm house. All in all this is one of my favourite places to walk my dog and would recommend it to anyone.”

“Excellent Food & Service. The food was excellent! The menu is very good and caters for everyone. Highly recommend the cheese and onion pie and the BBQ beef brisket sandwich. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Excellent service!”

“Wythenshawe Park and Gardens is one of the best green spaces in South Manchester, offering a mix of open fields, formal gardens, woodland walks, and family-friendly facilities. The park is well kept, with plenty of benches, flat paths for walking or cycling, and a relaxed atmosphere. The community farm and horticultural centre add extra interest, especially for younger visitors. There’s also a good café near the courtyard area, ideal for a quick lunch or coffee. It can get busy during events and weekends, but there's usually space to find a quiet corner. A reliable choice for a free day out with plenty to explore.”

“Lovely walk, choice of routes with miles wide paths an option on muddier days, or over dirt tracks when weather better. Beautiful views, not ever too busy like dovestones can be. Lack of bins is my only issue, so occasionally see dog poo bags hanging on bushes, which is a shame.”

“Great size park with sheep all over it roaming free. Bonfire night is always good here and I believe fishing is good. You see plenty of rabbits and other animals. Would recommend for a short dog walk as it's laid out very well and is easy to follow. Plenty of bins aswell and benches”
