“Absolutely amazing with authentic and imaginative recipes. You can also choose from the many different authentic sauces they have, each with a different spice level if your sensitive/don't enjoy spice you can choose to have no sauce or choose from the less spicy ones!”

“What an absolutely brilliant traditional pub. Saturday afternoon and the place was rammed full with drinkers, diners and pre football tipplers. The country used to be full of these gems but corporate greed has trashed so many. The staff were fantastic and individual. Go and spend a few hours in this treasure.”

“Such a nice little pub to unwind, especially if you don’t want anything crazy for the night but just enjoying a drink with friends and have a great meal. Food is really nice and it came in fast. The staff is friendly and thoughtful. They have darts and table tennis so you can enjoy a game while at it too! Recommend.”

“We have been to quite a few gigs at Castlefield Bowl and the food from Grandads Sausages is great. If we see them at a gig, then we know we're getting decent food! Proper sausages, good quality buns and tasty chips. Absolutely the best food you can get here, or at any gig they get to!”

“Had a couple of beers here on a Friday evening. The guest beer was in great condition and the bar staff were really friendly. Plenty of parking next to the pub. Sports were being shown on multiple screens. Would recommend and visit again.”

“Very good pub owned by Manchester Metropolitan University and run by the student union. The pub is a tap for the Bollington Brewery and had five cask beers - and 1 cider - on handpump when I visited. Lots of outdoor seating most of it covered.”

“It’s just a really good cheap pub, no thrills but it’s a good size, got a great outside area (not done up but comfy enough to sit in the sun) really good for casual day drinking without breaking the bank.”

“Been twice recently, once for breakfast once for a carvery. Both time the food was fantastic, hot, fresh and tasty. The chef came over both times making sure everything was OK and had a chat when we had finished our meals, bar staff are lovely and welcoming too. “First timeordering from there. Fish chipsand spicy curry sauce. Bloody lovely. Also sausage chips meat and potato pie and gravy. Really nice. Fish was fresh. Chips were prroper chips. Some where i woild recommend for a chippy tea. Delivery was very fast. And a good price aswell.”

“Good value for money food, a decent selection of real ales if that is what you like (a taster offered to my partner so it was easier to choose). Always a friendly welcome from the landlady and bar staff alike. Great quiz on a Sunday night with free sandwiches and beer tokens as prizes. Ps the aforementioned "landlord " is no longer there.”

“Have visited this place on a number of occasions. It is a Sam Smith's pub so they only sell their own brewed beers but the prices are very reasonable. Friendly staff and I guess that mainly older patrons (like myself) will enjoy visits to this pub. There is an open fire during the cold weather. A traditional pub that you can access from the main street by descending steps.”
