“Honestly footlights has been such an amazing experience for me, it’s genuinely supported me throughout my life and given me something to look forward to every weekend. I’ve been going to footlights since I was six and have made so many incredible memories and met just the most amazing people. Apart from learning to sing, dance and act, footlights is so much more than that! It’s a family and being apart of it is something I will never forget!!”

    The Music Shed

“My son has been learning the electric guitar at The Music Shed for over two years. The teaching is absolutely first class and he is now a very accomplished musician. He plays in one of their many bands, which has increased his confidence, team working skills and playing ability massively. The school is run by Dave and Dawn who work tirelessly to give all students the best possible learning opportunities and organise events, gigs and radio appearances to showcase what they can do. Perhaps most importantly, the school has a family feel and takes its role in the community very seriously. It is inclusive of all backgrounds and works with children, young people and adults with disabilities. The school has had a huge impact on the community in Eccles and Salford. I can't speak highly enough about the school - you won't find a better place in Salford to learn a musical instrument or take vocal lessons.”

“I can honestly say this school feels like a second home. From the very first day, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the teachers made it easy to settle in. They really care, not just about grades, but about each student as a person. What I appreciate most is the sense of community – you don’t just come here to learn, you also feel supported, listened to, and encouraged to grow. It’s a place where children can learn home from home. The classrooms are bright and full of energy, and there’s always someone ready to help if you’re struggling. The school brings families together too, with events and activities that make you feel like you belong to something bigger. Whether it’s academics, creativity, or just finding your confidence, this school gives every student the chance to shine. It’s more than just a school – it’s a community. Anna was amazing helping us all the way through. Thank you”

He loves attending Dance and Drama each week and has made lots of friends. He adores all the staff and has a good relationship with some of the girls in the older classes too. “I recently attended an advanced music production course at SEM Manchester and was thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. For anyone looking to take their music production skills to the next level, I highly recommend this School. From first contact with Mark, my specific learning goals were given priority and I was put in touch with my instructor, Jordan Peacock who was simply superb at explaining complex concepts in a clear and engaging way and patient with questions and provided valuable feedback throughout the course. The course covered a wide range of advanced music production techniques and was expertly structured providing ample opportunity for hands-on practice. I certainly felt I had significantly levelled up by the end The studio space was well-equipped with professional grade software and hardware, allowing me to work with industry-standard tools and get real-world experience. I found the atmosphere at SEM Manchester really positive and encouraging. I felt very comfortable among tutors who clearly shared my passion for music production. Overall, my experience at SEM Manchester was exceptional and the skills I gained are already improving my music.”

He attended a couple of different taster sessions so he could decide where he wanted to learn and chose Aura. Opera House Manchester

“My Visit to the Opera House Manchester My visit to the Opera House Manchester was an unforgettable cultural experience. This historic theatre, opened in 1912, is one of Manchester’s most elegant and iconic performance venues. With its beautifully restored Edwardian architecture, plush seating, and grand interior, it offers the perfect setting for musicals, concerts, ballets, and drama performances. The atmosphere inside was vibrant and welcoming. The acoustics were excellent, and the staff were friendly and well-organized, ensuring a smooth entry and interval experience. The show I attended was brilliantly produced — a true reflection of Manchester’s rich performing arts scene. Visitor Tips: Book tickets in advance through the ATG Tickets website for the best seats. Arrive at least 30 minutes early to enjoy the lobby and grab a drink at the theatre bar. Photography is usually not allowed during shows, so plan to enjoy the performance fully. How to Reach: The Opera House is located on Quay Street, Manchester M3 3HP, near Deansgate. It’s easily accessible by tram (St. Peter’s Square or Deansgate-Castlefield stops), bus, or a 10-minute walk from Manchester Oxford Road Station. There are also several parking options nearby, including Spinningfields Car Park. A visit to the Opera House is a must for anyone who loves theatre, music, and Manchester’s timeless charm — a perfect evening of culture and entertainment.”

Tech house was the flavour of the night, and my god it tasted good! What an epic deviation of the norm, I could've literally thrown shapes all night in here! Could this place be the venue that puts Preston back on the clubland map? I think so!!!”
