“Went in at tea time on a Wednesday and had a delicious rag pudding. The pudding, chips, peas and gravy were all amazing, I would highly recommend. Staff were also lovely and helpful. Pub looks amazing too and was very busy for the day and time. Staff have done really well to get the pub to where it is. Get in there and get some food in you.”

“Great pub. Great live entertainment every Friday and Saturday nights. Made this our local about 6 months ago and nowhere comes anywhere near to matching the friendliness of the staff and other locals. Fantastic atmosphere and a proper pub. Never have to wait long to be served, even when the place is rammed. Our nights out are always made more enjoyable, and our thirsts suitably quenched, by the fabulous Francesca and the rest of the friendly, amazing and eager bar staff.”

I love the Boars Head I've been frequently the place since I was a teenager and now I live in Ireland I still make a point of going in the place when I return to my home town of Stockport. It's a nice traditional pub with a warm and friendly clientele with beers and spirits at very reasonable prices.”

“Came on a Monday, and there was a buy one free one offer on Mondays! So it was super worth it for us. The portion was large and the taste was good. The staff were approachable and friendly and even asked us whether the food was alright afterwards! Overall a great experience for you to bring family and friends over!”

“I've been going to The Urmston regularly for almost 10 years now! My friends and I started going to the Pub Quiz there on Thursdays back in 2016 and we still go to this day! We've made many friends through the quiz and we love all of the locals too. The staff here have always made us feel welcome and that's why we still go week in, week out! Plus, the food is really good too! My family and I often enjoy dropping in for a Sunday dinner now and again.”

“Great Atmosphere nice friendly people They have a quiz/bingo/play your cards right on Tuesday afternoon around 1pm. On a Tuesday they also put food on I.e. hotdogs or a curry or perhaps a chilli, you can never be sure which.”

“Visited over Patrick’s weekend and really enjoyed liked the relaxed atmosphere. The place had plenty of screens showing the football, which was a nice. They also have Thief Street in the kitchen, the food was fantastic, great portion sizes and tasted delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. Drinks are on the pricey side, with a pint of Guinness costing £6.70, but since we’re not big drinkers, we just had one drink each so it didn't affect us too much”

“We have just moved into the area and decided to take a chance on this place after a long day of unpacking. What a wonderful evening we had! We were greeted and served by Luize, Kate, and Sue who were all very warm, welcoming, and inviting. The food was gorgeous and exactly what we needed, and the atmosphere was great (I'm an 80s child and to hear lots of the music of the time was just the icing on the cake for me). Firmly think this will be one of our favourite places for the foreseeable future! Thank you guys for making a very hard day that much more bearable!”

“Booked a table for 15 with pre ordered food from the menu . Young lady behind the bar was brilliant. You could see she was on her own but she got all the food out really quickly and still served behind the bar . The food was really good with a wide selection across the group everyone enjoyed there meals . Thanks Paul little lever”

“Spoilt for choice in Bramhall for eateries, and having never tried the Nook and Broom before, the family and I thought we'd give it a go. The verdict was unanimous. A great choice of family friendly seating areas, all well lit. A number of small unobtrusive TV's for those who go to watch sports. The food. Oh my goodness the food! Great value and all very well prepared and served in good time. My personal favourite was the 1kg chicken wing sharer. So much so my son and I went back a few days later to take advantage of 'wing Wednesday' 40p per wing (the wings are a good size too) in the sauce of your choice. Then, spotting the breakfast menu had to go back next day to sample the £7 Big Breakfast (see pic). A great spread for seven quid and all done to [my] perfection. Finally, the friendly and attentive staff. Cheers Leon and Olivia for topping off the experience with your professional and welcoming nature. Highly recommend this place for all the above reasons. “Sanjay is a great landlord, best prices in Ashton and the beer is nice, always has deals on and a good selection to choose from. It's cash only but it reflects in the low prices. Fantastic bar staff who are always friendly, Anita is a lovely women. 2 clean pool tables that are well looked after, sports always on including the football. Doesn't open after 10pm and never has any idiots in as the landlord has no place or time for it.”

“Wonderful place with outdoor seating which has access to the canal. Good food, good service. You can sit outdoor for a long time. Had a wonderful evening with friends and family at this place. Enjoy the beautiful village and good places chill out the evening. Near to Manchester. 20 minutes drive, parking available. Dogs allowed.”
