“We went to the Rose and Crown at Hartwell this past Friday... we've been meaning to visit here for a while. So glad we did and sorry we have not been sooner! The food, service and atmosphere was brilliant. They have a great team who are really friendly, helpful and customer focused. The menu was varied and caters for all tastes. I chose the brie and mushroom crostini as a starter - it was superb! The mains were great - I opted for fish and chips and it didn't disappoint. My wife had one of the specials... the honey chilli salmon and rice with pak choi. Again, delicious! We finished off with the amazing cheese platter - it had us beat! A really generous sharer with enough for a to-go box! All round, really excellent value for a delicious meal out. This little gem is just 2 miles from Hanslope. “I was staying at the local Premier Inn, but fancied a beer elsewhere. The nearest was the Crown then Sun. There were a few dodgy reviews about the Crown but thought I would still have a look in as it was the first I came to. The locals were all playing skittles (a new experience for me being a northerner), had a go too. Made to feel very welcome by all. Young lady behind the bar was lovely (the teacher). The landlady hasn't been well, but came down stairs at the end of the night and she was very nice too. Judge people as you find them... Never made it to the Sun”

They don't usually cater for parties or do a buffet but we used the normal menu and put together a buffet table, I agreed order in advance so they had everything ready and prepared for when we got there and all I had to do on the day was pay. Jonas was great helping to arrange things and David in the kitchen on the day gave amazing service and food was fantastic. Everyone had a great time and left with full bellies. Nothing was too much bother and they reserved an area for us which was perfect. Would highly recommend coming here for a meal and for larger groups.
