“Visited with a friend today, received a warm welcome. Food arrived in good time, nice and hot and portions are a good size. The sea bass was delicious and I loved my pudding with hot custard! I've been recommended the Prawn starter which will be my next choice . Thank you for a lovely meal. Parking was plenty and easy to access.”

“We went to Dilraj for our date night, my boyfriend has lived in Towcester for years and always wanted to go but never has so we decided to try it. Luckily we went on a banquet night, amazing price for what you get! All staff were friendly and even had a bit of a joke about my korma being a vindaloo! Jay was attentive and made sure we were happy throughout the evening, despite the restaurant being busy he always made time for us.”

“Delightful! Tiny intimate series of rabbit warren spaces that were seeming unending. Attentive and respectful staff under Mo’s watchful conducting. Food looked so beautiful and was top flight. Presentation by chef was exquisite. Excellent value. Only wish they served an English bitter beer as well as regular lager & IPAs. A nice Timothy Taylor or London Pride would make it perfect. Mo suggested I take a food parcel home as portion large - thank you, I hate asking but love cold curry for breakfast!”

“This is a hidden gem of a pub. You can stay overnight in your campervan, they have electric hook up and WiFi. The owners could not do enough for us, we rang to book and was told they stop serving food at 16:00hrs on a Sunday, but if we were late they would sort us out for food. We arrived an hour after they stopped serving but still welcomed us and let us choose whatever we wanted from the menus and the food was delicious. The locals were very friendly as was the staff/owners who could not do enough for us. We will definitely return when we are back in the area. 10 out of 10.”

“Can I say, that Chris and team are doing a great job, the food each time we have eaten has been excellent and really good VFM, the decor has been spruced up and most importantly for me and my mates, there are now, a couple of cask ale guest beers on tap, one of which is usually from a local brewery. We have seen tenants come and go with very mixed results, however Chris and team are right up there. Myself and everyone in the village are so pleased we have our lovely pub back!! Thank you!!!”

“What a fantastic afternoon tea. We were thoroughly spoilt and had an incredible afternoon. Food was amazing. Very obviously freshly home baked cakes and scones not to mention the devine range of freshly made sandwiches. I was impressed with the care that was taken to accommodate my dietary requirements. From online enquiry, through to confirmation and today's visit I can only rate them 10 out of 10. We were so well looked after and made to feel very welcome. I will definitely be going back. I highly recommend The Artea room if you are looking for somewhere to enjoy a special traditional English tea. Thank you to the team again”

“Popped into the Crown today for a drink. We hadn't planned to eat, but the food being served looked too good to miss. The ladies behind the bar were very accommodating and soon prepared us a table despite them being busy already. The food was hot, delicious and a perfect portion size. The beef was exquisite! The service overall was brilliant and we were made to feel very welcome by everyone.”

“I really enjoyed my time here. Went for a family meal, and there was a wide choice of food for everyone. Quality of the food was great, and nobody had any issues. The venue was clean and welcoming, but maybe a little on the cold side with the change in temperature that day - but cant really blame them for that. Staff were all really nice and gave a great quality of service. The venue was great for us as a family to come, but it would equally be fine for just a couple to go to. My only point for improvement would be the beer selection wasnt exactly to my taste, but it might be to yours. Will definitely be making a trip there again, and hopefully when the canal museum is open too.”

“Great lunch. Arrived just as they opened and orderes small plates. Food came fast and hot. Excellent fish cake and calamari. Chorizo was not at all spicy with pleasing flavour. Good BBQ wings and honey whipped feta was great. No pic of the fiash because we ate it before I thought to take a photo. Great lunch sitting outside in the September sunshine”

By far, the best Lidl I've been to for size, range of products, price etc. "Lidl in the middle" was huge and had loads of offers, way too many to list kaside from mens groomer/shaver £17.99 - Air fryer for about the same price too) As always, I gravitated to the 'End of the working week' section. Great range of beers at incredible prices. Really pleasant staff and a really good store.”

The whole place was immaculate and so clean (I tried to hand cash through a glass panel it was that clean!). The food was delicious too. They only took cash when I was there, so don't know if that's the norm, or card payments were down that evening. Very reasonably priced too.”
