“Super friendly staff and a great selection of beers - and live music too!”
“We came for breakfast while staying with my daughter and it was a lovely meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and there was a lovely family atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.”
“Classic cafe, didn't disappoint. Would love to see some real coffee though.”
“It is rare I don't manage to finish an English Breakfast. But I must admit my defeat, as the portion at Spoon Cafe is twice as big as normal. And it's good quality too! Also tried their Eggs Royale, very generous as well. And took some of their flapjacks takeaway.”
“you get a lot of good food for a good price. what's there not to love. been coming here since I was a child and still great!”
“Nice place to have a coffee.Soft play area for toddlers. Bright clean and friendly.”
“We meet here every third Friday evening as a Christian fun youth group and we enjoy the space and facilities avialable to us. The rooms are well lit, kitchen is available to us too.”
“Arrived 15 minutes before closing on Christmas Eve and the service was friendly and polite! Breakfast was great and exactly what I needed! Thank you so much and happy holidays!!”
“The food and drinks are always delicious and the service is always friendly too. They serve freshly pressed juices and good coffee too (which is a god-send!), and if you haven’t tried their chocolate brownies you really should. I regularly bring attendees to my flower school here and they love it too.”
“A non-profit community cafe run by volunteers from surrounding churches. You can have home made cakes and many other snacks and drinks. The atmosphere is always warm and friendly.”
“Liked this place but opens too late for me. Would like to stroll up for breakfast and a newspaper, 8am would be a much better time. Would probably suit the older crowd better as they tend to be early birds.”
“Popped in for the first time. Service was great, friendly and genuine. Sausage rolls were very good and not too hot. A place I shall visit again.”
“Lovely and cosy place! Coffee is great and the staff are very friendly ☺️”
“This place is a hidden gem and the service from the staff is exceptional. Having had the best club sandwich I’ve ever had after a family stroll around the lovely lake over the weekend, I couldn’t help myself from coming back a few days later when passing by the area. Great place and my favourite of all cafes which is very good value for money and excellent food. Highly recommend this to everyone.”
“Very good coffee shop. Great choice of roast. Had an interesting and fruitful chat with the Barnstaple regarding the UK only, pitiful, flat white cup size. Reason is that I am now Australian and spoiled for choice for great coffee. End result, decent sized cup. Lovely coffee. I'll be back next time I visit the UK.”
“Excellent Karak Tea and Pink (Kashmiri) tea, full of taste and freshly made. Cheesy chips were good too but only one thing needs to improved which is potatos quality (suggestion). The taste of chips were not good(Dry) as it should be but all other things were awesome and delicious. Many thanks.”
“Boy, this diner took me back. Simple, inexpensive and efficient. Monster Full English was just that. Choice of tomato or beans, mug o’builders tea or coffee. All very generic but well cooked and served with care and a smile. Good, old-fashioned breakfast in a classic Greasy Spoon location on a main roundabout just over the river from Caversham High Street. Great when you’re in the mood.”
“First time visiting and it was top notch. No frills, great freshly cooked food and the service and welcome were great! We will be back!”
“Really lovely place, very friendly welcoming staff, food was lovely and hot and fresh, superb bubble and squeak! The only downfall was, we waited 40mins for our food, now I don't expect fast food, I like a proper fresh cooked breakfast, and granted, this place was very busy when we arrived, but it might be worth giving customers the heads up if it's busy and telling them a rough wait time? Fortunately we had the time on our hands to wait, but had we somewhere to be we may have decided not to stay had we known it was that busy. That aside, the food was definitely worth the wait, staff work hard and all provide a good service, it has not put us off returning atall, just honest feedback.”
“Absolutely love this cafe. No matter what Nat & the crew will make you feel welcome. We went for the afternoon tea this time, you need to pre-book because Nat puts so much effort into it. You will not be disappointed”
“Really nice breakfast. Very tasty, looked appealing. The coffee was delicious. The staff are very friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable.”
“Had a very nice time at Mollys cafe. Coffee was lovely, sausage baps delicious, and the staff were friendly and welcoming... there is plenty of parking nearby too on either side of the street.. Will visit again soon, thanks!”
“It's a very good bistro that is children and dog friendly. Lots of mums and babies/todlers use it especially on Mondays. The car park is for residents of Poppy Meadows only. The food is home cooked and the coffee is excellent plus a great range of cakes. There are special nights laid on see their blackboard for details.”
“Always a great place to eat, good prices, good food, serving meals or snacks or just drinks. Friendly cosy place.”
“Was searching for a place to have breakfast and stumbled upon this little gem here! This cafe exudes warmth and friendliness. Perfect spot for a cozy catch-up or a serene solo moment. A true neighborhood treasure ^^⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Food served was incredibly fresh and flavorful. I’m definitely becoming their regular customer! Looking forward to try different dishes on the menu:)”
“All together we had a great dinner family time. We ordered a starter and 2 juicy burgers for us adults and kids eat free during school holidays which is kind and nice from the restaurant, especially for families with kids. Even if one of the burgers was not the way it was meant to be, the branch manager apologised and kindly replaced it for my wife and did not even charged for her entire order, including the drink. That was both polite and going above and beyond, as this can be a point of deciding if you ever come back to a restaurant based on your experience, and it all falls on the way the staff (including management) approach the issue and find a swift solution. Reason why we scored 5 stars and we thank Tillie for finding us a table last minute even if we had no booking on a Friday night.”
“Fantastic experience stopping in for lunch. The OXBO burger was probably the best burger I have eaten recently, the addition of rarebit made for a delicious twist on a conventional cheese burger. Highly recommended. Very friendly and helpful staff. The staff were attentive, but not intrusively so. I felt looked after. The cafe has a lovely calm atmosphere, but not boringly so. There were a few customers in giving it a good vibe, but without being hectic - I didn't wait long for service or for my food to arrive. It would be an ideal place for someone looking to have a working lunch, and there are spaces set out with power outlets for those with busy working schedules. Very conveniently located a few minutes away from Green Park, making for a nice change to eating in the company cafe if you are working nearby.”
“The ownership & excellent Food & Service are still the same just a change of name from The Chocolate Cafe. We popped in for breakfast today as not been in for a while. The sausage breakfast bap was so fresh & the sausages superb. Sliced so easy to eat and put together with care. The Bacon Bap the same, husband had the delicious home made hash browns with his. Great coffee & take away a slice of cake. Come with an appetite & expect good things!!”
“Having a great breakfast on a Sunday morning. We ordered two Java small breakfast, it came in a good portion, 2 fried eggs, 1 bacon, 1 sausage, 1 hash brown, mushrooms, beans and tomato and a toast. It’s only £8.50 including a good coffee (Flat White, whatever coffee you want), it’s a very good price. The food was great. The food was serving hot and quick, didn’t wait long. The staff were nice and friendly. The atmosphere was great, nice music and relax. There’s parking facilities and also hand car wash next to the restaurant.”
“Lovely staff, nice place, good views, excellent coffee.”
