“My husband ordered a take away dinner for us which he collected from the restaurant with all the standard precautionary measures due to Covid-19. We can't fault them, from the ease and efficiency of ordering online to the notifications of when it is ready to collect. Our meal was delicious, full of flavour, good portions and great menu choice. “Stopped off here for supper after a day exploring Henley. Excellent location, cosy and authentic Italian food with very attentive staff. The blonde lady who I assume is front of house there was particularly warm and welcoming when we arrived and made us feel very well looked after throughout the evening. We had the focaccia bread to start which we saw was freshly cooked from their pizza oven in the restaurant which added an even more authentic feel to the restaurant. Both had the beef bolognese which was perfect, very hot and the beef was really good quality. Wide dessert menu, we had the cheesecake to share but will be back for the hot chocolate sponge!”

“Today we went to Hoffa for the first time and it was Father’s Day. We had a wonderful time! Being South African, it was such a treat to have South African food and drink options! Service was exceptional with Sophie and Anar looking after us from the moment we walked in. Food was absolutely delicious and the presentation of the food was outstanding! “Not eaten here so no comment, but I'd imagine the nosebag is decent. Harvey's Sussex Bitter is the go to beer here and a classic. Budvar too and other decent beers with Amstel, Birra Moretti, Cruzcampo etc for those who drink the label and have to have it on their glass.”

“Amazing Chinese food with the new owner taking over a few months ago. Neighbourhood-friendly. I was feeling ill and the owner was kind enough to prepare an off-menu beef noodle soup for me — warm and delicious. “The ownership & excellent Food & Service are still the same just a change of name from The Chocolate Cafe. We popped in for breakfast today as not been in for a while. The sausage breakfast bap was so fresh & the sausages superb. Sliced so easy to eat and put together with care. The Bacon Bap the same, husband had the delicious home made hash browns with his. “We came here on a very dull and rainy afternoon for lunch and it was still rather busy, so assume it is a locals favourite. Service was with a friendly smile and was swift and efficient. Some excellent choices of drinks as well as food, something for everyone, the half hungry or starving! Decent non alcoholic drinks / beers for the drivers of this world which was nice! Opted for the fresh plaice and deer steak both succulent and perfectly cooked and proportions were perfect. Prices on par with others in the area, all very clean and spacious, there are a lot of decent eateries in Henley but this one is in definitely in the top half.”

“*Restaurant review* Food was absolutely delicious. My partner and I shared the camembert special for a starter which was very well prepared and came with plenty of bread relish, garlic and butter. We had the salmon and the pie of the day for our mains which were both enormous portions which we really appreciated. Very well cooked and seasoned. Shared the chocolate torte for dessert as we were stuffed after the generous portions which was also great quality. Service was timely and polite despite it being very busy. Strong recommendation.”

“Such a great place for food - we stumbled upon it by accident in the summer and have been several times. There is a lovely lake to walk round with the dogs and then pop in for a drink or food (dog friendly). We had a Sunday roast and the food came out quickly and piping hot. Would absolutely recommend, good food and good value for money”

“What a place - it understandably attracts a lot of custom and has a real "buzz" about it!! ... stayed one night and had dinner & breakfast. The rooms are "dated" but clean and quite comfortable. The staff are amazing - don't know how Wetherspoons do it. I interacted with five different staff over our stay and they were all polite, helpful and confidently spoken. Extensive menu and food served within 10 minutes of ordering. The service and value for money can not be faulted - I wish Wetherspoons could run the NHS & country! A great location bang in the centre of the charming town of Henley-on-Thames.”

“had a pleasant time at this pizza express a while back. meant to of left a review. it was all thanks to the amazing woman who served us (wish i’d caught her name!). honestly one of the best servers i’ve ever come across. super friendly, always smiling and completely on it the whole time. she made sure everything was perfect and sorted out a small issue we had straight away without any fuss. she made the whole experience 10x better. big thank you to her, hope she gets the credit she deserves :) On top of this, Pizza express food will always be my favourite.”

Immediately after a lovely morning cruise, and the brain calories burnt along the way in speed using a knots system, then immediately off the boat and straight into this fabulous riverside restaurant that enables dine al fresco with a shade, to avoid getting burnt!
