“I took my elderly Brother in Law to EMU on referral from out of hours G.P (this service was excellent) on arrival we were treated promptly, with Dignity and Professional competence. The Staff nurse who did an immediate assessment and entry tests was excellent. The on duty doctor was with us within the hour and ordered additional blood tests and conducted a thorough memory test, again Professional bur caring. Eventually a possible cause was found for my brother in Laws illness and he was duly admitted for further tests and observations. The whole unit excelled and is a credit to the Royal Hospital and the N.H.S. long may it continue. Thank you.”

“Took my adult son here due to him getting a foreign body stuck in his eye. He was seen within 20 minutes by minor injuries practitioner. She tried her best but couldn't remove it with the equipment available in the department so referred him to the eye clinic nearby - the A&E receptionist made him an appointment for an hour later and he was then seen (earlier than his appointment) by a Dr who quickly sorted it. All staff were efficient and friendly on this occasion. After a couple of poor experiences in the past it seems to have improved and I couldn't fault the service we received.”

“My child has had 2 surgeries here under the care of Mr Giles and ward 2. The care he receives is outstanding. I have been given a bed beside him and this time we were lucky enough to have a peaceful room instead of the noisy ward. The nurses and staff has made our visits much better than expected, nothing was too much trouble. Ward 2 has a family area where we can always get hot drinks cereal and I even saw a freezer where parents can get a meal and pay whatever they can afford. There is nothing more we could have asked for so a huge thankyou for helping my son through this difficult time. Bless all NHS staff who make a difference every single day & night.”

“I was bluelighted here by ambulance in October 2024 with a heart rate of 160bpm. I was petrified but the staff were brilliant with me. I wasn’t kept waiting to get treated. Only thing I was kept waiting for was a bed on AMU. It was 4am the next morning I was transferred to there. The ladies who bring you drinks were excellent and one lady was making us laugh. I was then transferred to ward A1 that afternoon at about 4pm where I stayed until my discharge 4 days later. The staff on there were very caring and helpful. They really are angels and the patient transport who took me home bonded with me because I was missing my cat and dog. They helped me into my house and they said awww they sure have missed you because of how my darling pets greeted me. Thank you to all who looked after me on Wednesday 16 until Monday 21 October 2024”

“Shout out to the staff at the Sheffield Walk-in-Centre …. went to meet a family member who was experiencing a difficult asthma attack on the back of a chest infection. On arrival, the place was extremely busy, no vacant seats, with people queuing at the desk! staff were clearly working hard, in difficult conditions to get people assessed and treated ASAP! Having mentioned to staff that the asthma was worsening, the response was excellent. They were seen quickly and provided excellent emergency care before being referred to the NGH…. Although someone might say they were just doing the job that they’re paid for…. these were difficult circumstances in a very busy and stressful environment. So thanks to the staff on duty this afternoon for a providing an excellent and professional service.”

All the doctors have seemed very sensible, listened well and sorted me out. Much better service than my GP back home. Not looking forward to the day I stop being a student and have to go back to having a normal GP where you have to wait weeks for an appointment and they have very few crisis appointment slots.”
