“My daughter and I had afternoon tea here yesterday. It was really nice. The food was fresh. Good selection of items for afternoon tea. Beautiful Teashop and lovely staff. The owner was very nice and accommodating. They also do theme nights, which I'm sure we shall be back to join. The menu was great for other occasions. Breakfasts and lunches, or a drink and a snack. The shop itself was decorated lovely, with indoor and outdoor seating. Dogs were also welcome. Set in lovely surroundings in a park. We will definitely go again.”

“I have left a review before and was really happy with our meals. But I wanted to do a special update. We got married on the 6th of September 2025 and decided to have our reception at The Gate in Langwith. Phil, Denise and the staff were fantastic, listened to what we wanted and had no issues with my requests. On the day we turned up and Denise had decorated the tables in the orangery beautifully. The meal was at the very high standard we have come to love from the chefs and could not fault any part of it. All our guests said it was a beautiful meal and it made our day even more memorable. “There's two cafes on site one just for the humans and one for the doggies and their human family. Its no longer a working pit. And the rewilding of the surrounding area is very well done. Because I remember it when it was black and very dusty.”

“I hired all four rooms out for the day before my wedding for myself & my bridal party. From arrival we had such a warm and welcoming hello, a bottle of beautiful fizz and treats which was so unexpected but so equally lovely. I couldn't have asked for a more secluded & peaceful experience, exactly what I needed prior to the big day. The owner is a fabulous man, calm and kind and let us relax in the gardens until late using all of the facilities and even the bar area for our wedding preparations in the morning. Thank you so much for making our time at Holly Lodge stress free and beautiful.”

“Visiting Mansfield for first time in many years due to a recent family bereavement, and found Lucy’s cafe very close to the bus station. Staff were really friendly, and nice welcoming feeling. Had a couple of really nice coffees, and some breakfast, all of which were lovely. Service was friendly and welcoming. Stopped by the following weekend when visiting again and will do so again when I’m next in town visiting my grandma.”

“Excellent Sunday lunch. Nice pub with a traditional pub feel, and a dining room facing onto a nice pub garden. Service was friendly and quick. Food was good. Had the trio roast which was tasty. Portion size was excellent (big). Roast had I think three meats, stuffing, roasties, mash, parsnip, carrots, cabbage, leeks and I think peas. Excellent value at 19 quid. I also had a side of pigs in blankets which I really didn't need but where also good. Whilst we don't have dogs, also loved the free doggie treats and water bowls for four legged friends as nice touch you don't often see. This was our first time here and we will definitely be going again.”

“Run by the most polite friendly and happy staff, happy to help ready for a friendly chat. Always clean shelfs well stocked, the only down side the Co-op is quite expensive but thats down to the comanys pricing protocols, however when they do reduce their quite competitive. I do believe the Clipstone Co-op are the best team and they make shopping a delight.”

Staff are friendly and happy to help and there don't seem to be a load of and ting restrictions on the all you can eat menu like you normally have. Even the duck wraps are only £2 extra (per person) for all you can eat. make sure you book on busy nights though as it gets busy (for all the right reasons)”
