“This is a lovely club for the family. The staff are friendly and welcoming with some great facilities like darts, pool and live sports. The toilets are always very clean as well.”
“Here last night for a team meal and had such a great experience. The service was excellent from start to finish — the staff were so friendly and welcoming, which really made the evening. The atmosphere was relaxed and cosy, perfect for catching up with everyone. Food and drinks came out promptly, and it felt like nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a pub with genuine hospitality and a lovely vibe. We’ll be back!”
“Food is always fantastic. Always our takeaway or delivery choice for Indian food. Always a friendly welcome when we collect too. Highly recommended!”
“Wow. Thank you Happy Valley, we’ve just had an amazing meal. Every single dish was delicious and such generous portions. We’ve never had a bad dish but this was such a good one that I had to leave a review ❤️”
“I ordered a house special chow mein and BBQ salt chilli spare ribs. They were both really amazing and the portion sizes were great. The staff were friendly and the place very clean and tidy. The only draw back is a minimum £15 spend if paying by credit or debit card.”
“Family of 9 had a reservation on a Tuesday night. We were served quickly, the food was amazing (recommend the paneer pancake and Bengal Flame) and the staff were lovely. This is a bit of hidden gem for me as it was my first visit but certainly not my last. And we will switch our takeaways to them, too!”
“Always friendly and helpful - opened my ignorant eyes to a whole world of options and very wide range.”
“We ordered for the first time and have to say it was the best takeaway curry we’ve had in ages. The food was lovely; we had the Murgh Shakoti, a new one to us, but was a lovely sauce with generous chicken portions. The tandoori chicken was also very nice and tender. Plus the delivery arrived 5 mins earlier than stated - win, win all around!”
“Excellent local shop. Now with a post office. Wide range of items and excellent service. Would recommend.”
“We stopped here for dinner - it was a little later than we normally eat, but got in fine and was even told we didn't have to rush or anything! Food was wonderful - chicken Pakoras and lamb bhuna get a special mention! Service was good. I'm not overly sure if they have a car park, but it seems in the evening you can park on one of the spaces along the road.”
“Went in for a meal with my wife and had our friend join us later in the evening. The food was amazing but our server was even better. Freddie took amazing care of us! The busyness of the restaurant meant that somethings were slightly delayed, absolutely no one’s fault and we were not in any rush. Freddie kept us updated and apologised a couple times for the wait (again, it wasn’t anyone’s fault, not his, nor the restaurants. It’s always nice seeing a business thrive). He was professional, friendly and accommodating. During the evening we had a group of loud women come in. We asked if we could move as it was quite overwhelming, he moved us over into a corner where it was a little more sheltered from the noise. He later came back and checked in to see if we were happy with our new table. This kind of detail was not unnoticed by us and we truly appreciated everything. Thank you for a lovely night. We will absolutely be back!”
“Came across River Bean and Bar by chance Great find. Quiet while we were there early afternoon. Friendly staff. Good menu but can recommend very tasty fish finger roll. Will visit again soon”
“Plenty seating, indoor and out, huge views over river. Smashing food all round, cakes, bakes, filled rolls, toasties. Coffee is amazing! Car park is small and always full, recommend using the park and ride over the road, or the most picturesque stroll from the city, across water meadows and riverside.”
“The King's Head was a great find. The staff were amazing. They were extremely helpful in every aspect. The entertainment was great for New Year. The car park was large enough for people enjoying an evening drink/meal and people staying.”
“A really nice family run store. They are always upbeat, helpful, and fun, just how a store in a community should be run.”
“Stayed for a short break to visit the Cathedral, Christmas Market and shops. The Westgate’s central position was ideal for access to everything. Room very comfortable. Food excellent and all the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Would highly recommend and hope to be able to return one day soon. Thankyou”
“Came here on Friday. Fab time. Got free photos with lovely Beth! We’ll be back soon xx”
“Best Chinese I’ve had in the whole of Winchester. Great sized portions and reasonably priced.”
“I hadn’t visited dim t in Winchester for years, but I decided it was time to rectify that, and I booked a table for a Saturday night meal with some friends. The restaurant was very busy when I arrived, which is always a good sign. Once seated, we were given the fantastic menu, and I spent a long time trying to decide what to have! The bao buns I had to start were fantastic – light, fluffy, and packed full of fillings. For the main course, I opted for Nasi Goreng, which I’ve had before in Singapore. I have to admit, I actually preferred this one to the one I had on holiday! It was very well-flavored, generous with the fillings, and a very enjoyable dish. I still had a small amount of space to share a dessert – and their Peanut Sundae was calling to me. It was honestly fantastic; it’s everything you want in a dessert. I found the entire experience very enjoyable, with the food being fantastic and the service being friendly and attentive. I also found the value very good too – with drinks and three courses coming in very reasonably. I’ll certainly be back again soon, as it’s a great place for a delicious dinner that doesn’t break the bank!”
“We visited The Bridge Inn today, for a celebratory 90th birthday lunch, with our Mum. The restaurant was busy when we arrived and there was a lovely atmosphere. Liv was our waitress and she looked after us really well. In fact, all the staff were friendly and welcoming. The service was excellent, attentive but not overly so. We ordered drinks while we looked at the menu, which was quite varied and well laid out. We chose our mains and we didn’t have to wait very long before the food was served, nice and hot. A couple of us had the steak and ale pie, which was delicious! Two others had chicken dishes, which were very tasty too, and one of us had the special venison burger, which was amazing! Deserts followed, including sticky toffee pudding, chocolate brownies, and apple tart, all of which were absolutely delicious. James was our chef today, and we got to chat with him, briefly, after our meals. The prices were very reasonable indeed, and the service charge wasn’t added automatically, like many restaurants, but we didn’t hesitate to add our own cash tip, as the whole experience was just perfect. Definitely a birthday lunch to remember, and I’d highly recommend a visit to The Bridge Inn, at Shawford.”
“We did not eat food here as we had already eaten lunch. We just stopped for a drink and to appreciate the atmosphere. The food looked really good and there were many appreciative customers”
“I have been to masala Lounge around five times over the last year and every time, whether it is Indian or Thai, has been really high quality. I went yesterday evening and I think it’s the best chicken curry I’ve ever had. I liked it so much I’m tempted to go back and have another one. The staff are very friendly always happy to see you. Highly recommend the quality of the food.”
“I came in a couple of times to buy a malvasia nera red wine I just simply adore, I think that if you compare the price of the wines here and in tesco the same wine you buy for 10 quid here you can really taste all the different flavours in the wine in tesco is ok but not amazing, plus here there the shop assistants (especially the blonde girl) are very knowledgeable and friendly and I am so happy I can finally get a nice decent bottle of wine when I fancy one that tastes like proper wine is supposed to.”
“Great little store, with owners, who work hard to keep the essentials you need in stock. Very friendly and helpful staff who are always ready to offer advice or assistance. This venue offers parcel posting and collection which is absolutely brilliant for the local community. ATM is available outside and limited parking is available at the rear. Wonderful asset to Bishops Waltham. Open from 06:00 until 20:00 Mon-Sat. 07:00 - 19:00 Sun Very highly recommended.”
“Clean and tidy, great staff, but low on stock with lots of sizes unavailable.”
“We celebrated a special birthday lunch at Bridge Street House on a rainy Thursday lunchtime and so pleased we chose this venue as we enjoyed wonderful cocktails before lunch and then an amazingly tasty lunch which would be hard to find outside of London. The bar and restaurant is very stylish and cosy with very attentive staff and a fabulous drinks and food menu, highly recommended! Make the effort to keep walking down the High Street, past the run of the mill pubs and walk into Bridge Street House, you will not be disappointed.”
“I have just arrived in the area and I was greeted at the tills and staff on the floor with respect and empathy and kindness as I am disabled and in a mobility scooter nothing was too much trouble when I wanted something out of my reach and when going through the till the male member of staff was warm and kindly help pack my purchases what a lovely welcome into the area. What an encouragement to go to that store.”
“Absolutely amazing service amazing good friendly staff Thank you From all students at Peter symonds collage”
“This is my 1st time visiting The White Horse. The food was absolutely beautiful and the cocktail I had was delicious. The staff were all very friendly, polite and very helpful. Megan our waitress was lovely, making sure we had everything we needed for our lunch. We sat and ate at the back of the bar, its was lovely sitting on the window seats. It was lovely and quiet, and peaceful. The best way to enjoy lunch.”
“Cracking find between an alleyway off the High Street or a road running beside the side of the Cathedral good range of drinks plenty of outdoor seating in the alley. Amazing prices.”
