“What a beautiful place to stay or have a picnic or just to cycle/walk through. Beautiful lakes and cute ducklings. Some adult ones may be aggressive and bite if you go too close.”

“Great afternoon out. You can start in the cafe and get some nice food with a fair amount of choice, it's a little expensive but it is good quality to go with it. The railway I good as you can get a return ticket so you can get off at the lakes and have a little walk around them and if you have small ones then there is a fenced off park area near the station to visit. The trains are good fun, and they have space for a buggy or two if you need to take it with you to the other end. The return journey is a bit more scenic and features the tunnel, which, if you have children who are sensitive to loud noises, may be unsettled when they go through it.”

“I bought my dream car from Hendy, and can’t recommend highly enough. I had been searching for a long time, and spotted they had a Mustang model that looked to fit what I wanted. As soon as I contacted the team at Hendy, the service was excellent from start to finish. From the video run through of the car to the carefully planned route for the test drive, the service felt very personal at every stage. “The staff, reception, nurses and vets alike are so friendly, welcoming and engaging. I took my fur baby to get her routine vaccinations and general annual health check this week. Two of the staff on reception I recognise from previous visits to pick up flea/worm treatment and there was a also a new lady. All of whom were giving my dog attention, cuddles and treats. They asked me questions about her and genuinely came across interested. Telling me about their pets too. Vets, actually any large franchise can feel a little impersonal - Vets4Pets is an exception. You go away really feeling like you and your pet were important. The vet herself was lovely - she made me feel like a proud mum telling me my dog was perfect :-) She was very gentle to minimise distress. I have the health plan which includes all vaccinations, a health check and regular flea/worm preventatives. So I only have to pop in there occasionally, every time it's been a pleasure with no fuss.”

“Update January 2024 Screwfix asked for a review and then declined it, so here it is: "Out of date Alcohol Free Hand sanitiser. Ordered click and collect, went to pick up the 4 I had ordered, all 6 months past the expiry date, they checked the shelves, they were all out of date, despite just arriving in the store. They tried to tell me the expiration date meant you could still use it for a year past that date, "because you can with paint". They put them back on the shelves despite being out of date and in completely different bottles. Usually Screwfix are absolutely brilliant, but I wasted fuel on not just one trip to get there, but a return trip, because luckily I noticed before I got out the van, so had to return them, in rush hour, in the pouring rain, wasting yet more fuel!" And my wheelchair got soaking wet! Previous review: Love Screwfix, usually greeted with a smile, very knowledgeable, extremely helpful staff, love the app most things are in stock, or delivered in a day or two, ordering online or through the app, with store collection saves a lot of time, on the majority of things they are the cheapest, I always check with other local similar stores. It's very small but it is wheelchair accessible. I highly recommend screwfix to everyone, for their great service, great products, great prices, great product knowledge, availability of stock etc, and their app makes it so easy to find what you need, order in seconds, usually texts to let you know its ready for pick up within minutes, very impressed by Screwfix.”

“Brilliant quality and service on a couple of fencing projects and a new gate. Quality is far superior to what others are offering. We re-jigged the project last minute and changed our minds, and this was not an issue. Paid a small restocking fee {which I felt was extremely fair} and the new goods were delivered straight away. “We were served by Ace, whilst buying a hamster and they were so helpful! Ace gave great advice about everything to do with caring for a hamster and they were also great with my young children, explaining to them things in a way they would understand and made them feel included in the special memory of getting their first pet. They checked over our hamster with us making sure she looked to be in a healthy condition- which she was. They also advised we downloaded the Pets at Home app to get ourselves 10% discount on our purchases, which was appreciated!”

He comes out smelling absolutely lovely and looks so handsome. All are very caring and professional. They take great care in what they do and the dogs.”

“Hursley Cafe is definitely the café we’ve visited the most since moving to Southampton. With its great value for money, we find ourselves coming here almost every Sunday. This is a record of our visit two weeks ago, after our eldest daughter and her friend finished rugby practice in Eastleigh. We ordered Egg Royale, Lasagne, a Kids’ Meal, Mocha, and Hot Chocolate. The food quality was excellent, and the portions were generous. This café gets extremely busy on Sunday mornings, so we highly recommend calling ahead to make a reservation to avoid long waiting times.”

“i walked all the way from Weston.A great walk with great views.When you get to the oil terminal and think the pathway ends,it doesn't. The route i took ended on the waterfront in Hamble village.There is coastal erosion but the pathway follows another route in places.Great place for families,kids and dogs,and single folk like me.The reed beds can be a bit soggy after winter but the diversity of the common is really special.Beach,marsh,woods and narrow paths and open grass land.The gun in my photo isn't the original bofors gun sited here in world war 2 but a replacement,and very real. Saturday 30th March 2024. I left a review five years ago. Today there is an update. The coast path from Hamble car park walking west is largely flooded. A lot of people use the beach as a pathway. The pathway is that flooded with water. I found a way through the scrub between the path and the beach because I had been walking for several hours and didn't want to turn around. I had walked from Burseldon and caught the ferry from Warsash to Hamble and carried on walking. You will need hiking boot's or wellies to walk from Hamble to the oil terminal along the coast path for a while. From the oil terminal west the going gets easier. Just when it was drying out. The Hamble circular walk will be challenging for a few weeks at least.”
