“Our son has been very happy attending Portswood day nursery and preschool since day one. He joined when he was nearly 2.5 years old, after we moved to the area. The management is doing a great job (communication, response, etc.) and we have been happy with carers in both toddlers and pre-school rooms. My son actually misses going back to preschool after we have been away for some days. I know we will all miss this nursery and I just hope my son will have the same love for his school starting in September that he has for his pre-school. Note: I felt I really needed to write a review after seeing the most recent review about late charges. The nursery's official closing time is 6:30pm which is quite late comparing to most other nurseries. Yes, they do sometimes, very rarely, ask us to bring our kid in late due to staffing issues. But these cases are rare and always due to circumstances outside their control like train strikes or unplanned road closures. I understand that it's annoying to be charged for picking up one's kid only 15 minutes late, but we parents also need to accept that the staff need to go home too after their long day, and the nursery is open until quite late compared to the norm.”
