“Beautiful hotel, lovely and clean. Me my partner and our children stayed and it was so cozy. The staff are always polite and help with whatever you need. There are multiple shops within 5 minute walks from here and there are also multiple parks within 10-15 minute walks away.”
“Come here briefly for a birthday party in the function room. Staff were very helpful and the drinks being served were cheaper than most pubs around the local area.”
“Just to say the service was exceptional from front desk through to the health club reception staff. Special mention to Evie and Eleanor who served us our breakfast. They were friendly, welcoming and professional. Final mention to Sandra, the chef who cooked a lovely breakfast!”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The customer service was exceptional- genuinely friendly, attentive and very personal. The team were incredibly helpful with our booking, not just pointing us to a number or system, but actually taking the time to help and find a solution that worked for our family. That personal approach made such a difference. The hotel itself is beautiful, the spa is fantastic (exactly what we needed!), and breakfast was absolutely fab- great quality, plenty of choice and a relaxed atmosphere. It’s a very family-friendly hotel where you genuinely feel looked after from start to finish. We’ve stayed before and will happily return again. Highly recommend for comfort, great service and a touch of luxury.”

“I only stayed for one night and I was unfortunately trying to sleep in the annex, room number 40. The connecting doors between each of the rooms should be bricked up to ensure some sense of security and safety for anyone staying. This would also block out the noise experienced from the persons next door. I experienced very little sleep due to the people in the next room who would not shut up all night, music, talking very loudly, notifications ringing out very loudly on their phones and one of them who regularly went outside to smoke would cough and cough very loudly and wretch and spit through out the night. The hotel I accept is very old some of the profit from the hotel should be used to fix it up it is in great need of it. I heard on multiple occasions customers complain that their bed was broken and they had paid a great deal of money. On a positive side the staff are wonderful they deserve better surroundings to do their job. Anyone in the hotel business would snap them up. They are very nice people. The chef is excellent and has a beautiful soul. The owner needs to wake up and see what wonderful staff he/she has and start putting the profits back into the business before the building falls down around him/her. Thank you for the kindness shown to me by the staff they are very professional and deserve better.”
“Great place to stay very clean and comfortable friendly staff and really competitively priced seriously recommend”
“We stayed here as a stopover on a long journey from Scotland to Kent and were very pleased with the service and the breakfast particularly. The hotel is currently undergoing some renovation but this did not impact our stay and it is a little dated in places but our room was spacious, clean and warm. For the price we paid for a night's stay and breakfast we felt it was very good value for money.”
“Incredible service. I broke down and managed to get my car into the car park at this hotel. Dylan was working the night shift on reception and was so helpful. He was very helpful in getting me any help needed and when I eventually needed to book a room he got this sorted for me very quickly and even accommodated really well for my dog. Then when checking out in the morning, the lady on reception was also incredibly helpful, friendly and accommodating, especially for my dog once again. I just wanted to say thank you so much for being so kind and helpful when I was in a tight spot. The best experience I could have from the loveliest staff.”
“The best and most relaxing break I've had. Our hosts thought of everything to make things easy, from the brew stuff already on site to the hot tub being ready as soon as we got there. A quiet and peaceful setting, far enough away from the hustle and bustle but not too far away.”
“Brilliant location. Right in the centre of Buxton which is a short walk to get too. The hotel is on a hill and may be too steep for those with mobility issues. There is plenty of parking which cost £5 for 24hr. The hotel is very large but very clean. We didn't see dust, marks ect. Check in was friendly and easy. The staff are so warm and welcoming. The lobby is very large and grand and plenty of seating. The building is very old, however the decor and furniture is not. The price of a night stay with half board was excellent. Couldn't fault the hotel. The location is excellent. Just note the hotel is on hill.”
“The crown is under new management. They are working really hard to bring it back to its former glory. All the staff are lovely and the hotel has become a very nice place to stay. It's the perfect location for visiting the town with its many independent cafes and shops.”
“Stayed here last weekend in a family room. 2 adults 2 children. Had booked another hotel up the road that turned out to be a nightmare. Arrived at the hotel, plenty of room to park, yes it is on street but lots of space. Door was closed when we arrived didn't find this a problem, lady who was working reception answered really quickly and welcomed us in. Check in was smooth and easy. The receptionist was amazing, made us feel at home. (Wish I knew her name but she has red hair) hotel felt really secure, door closed most of the time to stop just anyone walking in off the street. The stair way upto room was very clean, there is a patch of damage to the decor on the way up but really not a problem and probably to be expected in a building of such age. Landing corridor to room all really beautiful with some lots of character, (chandelier, balcony) room was really nice, so clean so big for a family of 4. No issue in room with any facilities or cleanliness. Staff happy to help and really couldn't be nicer. Location is brilliant too, nice restaurant across the road, local shops near by and water park and money forest just a few mins away. Overall had a really nice time staying here and would definitely stay again. Thank you”
“Hosts were very warming upon arrival. Check in was fast, room spotless, spacious and had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was tasty, with a choice of cereal, toast and yogurt before the full English! Overall very pleased and would definitely stay again. Thank you!”
“We had the best stay at The Bay Tree Bed and Breakfast! Anita was an amazing host — so warm, welcoming, and full of great recommendations about Alton. The rooms were lovely and comfortable, and her cooked breakfast was absolutely delicious. She truly made us feel at home. I can’t wait to stay here again!”
“AMAZING!! I booked The old Parlour and Cow Shed to come with some of my closest friends to celebrate my 40th Birthday. The barns are beautiful and they have thought of all the tiny details. The bath house toiletries in particular smell incredible! They provided milk, tea and coffee to get us started as well as bath robes. We chose to add a booking on with Georgie and Co who came to the barns to provide us all with treatments. It was the best massage I’ve had in quite some time! I would highly recommend booking if you want to add some relaxation to your stay. I can’t wait to visit again! x”
“The passion of the host was perfect and we loved the conversation and the time she made just to talk to us. Everything was picture perfect. We thought the rooms were a bit expensive, but considering everything it was worth it. The views were stunning.”
“My family and I recently booked an Umrah trip with 365 tours and we were pleased with everything from start to finish. Brother Haroon was very helpful throughout the whole experience and took care of everything for us, making the whole journey stress free. From booking our flights, accommodations, ziyarah visits and arranging transportation, we didn’t have to worry about anything. 365 tours went above and beyond to ensure that our trip was smooth and memorable and we couldn’t have chosen a better group to go with. I highly recommend 365 Tours for anyone planning an Umrah trip, they truly made our journey unforgettable!”
“In April 2024 we decided to sell our lovely home and follow our dream of retiring somewhere more rural. We approached three local estate agents to visit the house and chose Josh from Royal Fox. Right from our first meeting he was enthusiastic, positive and loved the house. Who better to sell it for us? The marketing was fabulous and really showcased our house with some lovely photos. We had lots of viewings and quickly received an offer which we accepted. Unfortunately our buyers sale fell through and we were back on the market. We then had a second and third sale all fall through all due to their chain collapsing and were becoming despondent. During this process Josh, Nige and Linda kept us informed of every development, remained upbeat and confident that we would secure a sale that would complete and finally we did. At one point we were in Northwich on unrelated house sale business and bumped into Nige. He recognised us immediately, came over and had a chat and knew exactly where we were up to with our sale. I doubt any other agent would have been as clued up and we commented on how much better a local, smaller agency suited us. Throughout the process of selling our home Josh remained the voice of calm, keeping us updated weekly, ensuring any questions were dealt with quickly and really going above and beyond what we would have expected from an estate agent. He remained professional throughout but we definitely felt that during the process we became friends. We couldn’t recommend Royal Fox highly enough and if anyone is considering a house sale or purchase in Northwich and wants the very best service possible then this is the place to use. We finally moved in July 2025 and are supremely happy with our new Welsh home. Thank you so much to all the team at Royal Fox and we wish you every success in growing your wonderful business. Christine and Paul Kelly.”
“Maddie was involved in our house purchase. The communication was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Maddie is very professional and personable.”
