“The establishment provided excellent service and delivered quality pub fare. The mixed grill, featuring a medium-rare steak, was well-received. The tikka masala was satisfactory. Overall, the experience was positive, with reasonable pricing and enjoyable food, including a carvery that was particularly appreciated.”

“Awesome. Lovely family pub. Great garden. Dog friendly. Cheapest beer in town. Fantastic entertainment. Love the castle. It's the one and only for me. How can people leave a bad review. Give the place a chance. If you're new you're welcome.”
“Lovely and friendly great beer fab dog as well so cute”
“We had Sunday lunch here today and couldn't fault a thing. We stopped going under the last management but thought we would give the new people a try and we are so glad we did. The food was delicious, the service was great and they have decorated the pub beautifully for Christmas. We will definitely be back and hope others in the village will give them a try. From our experience today they won't be disappointed.”
“Libby was very warm, attentive and very polite. The breakfast was very enjoyable. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, some people were wearing their pyjamas and doing their make up. The music was at the right level where we could have a conversation without being drowned out. The pub was clean, tidy and very well set up. The manager came in after to help shuffle some chairs which was nice to see, she even made the effort to have a lovely chat. Overall a very good experience and I look forward in visiting again. The staff are an asset to the pub.”
“Great pub, recently taken over and the owners Carl and Shane are lovely, such a great atmosphere, only recently moved here and I feel like I’m at home here, give it a try!”
“Three other people and the landlord. As a stranger I was welcomed and the banter was good. Clean toilets, always a good indicator.”
“First visit. Great family pub. Very friendly atmosphere and was made very welcome by all staff on duty. Food and beer was excellent”
“The Weary Traveller has become my home from home this last week while I visit friends and family in the area. Sam was very welcoming and the local regulars have been accepting of this 'Auzzie outsider'. I haven't sampled the food but the ale is on par and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is welcoming and inclusive. The place can go from quiet to 'everyone singing to the duke box' very quickly indeed. Look forward to calling The Weary Traveller my 'local' for another week while I retread my infancy and continue to visit family.”
“Found this little gem by chance, and what a find. Recently taken over by new management. The decor was welcoming and comforting, with very nice leather sofa's and armchairs, amongst other tables and chairs. with a nice out door area included at the rear of the pub. We had an afternoon lunch which was of high quality at a very decent price. Staff was very pleasant too. A must visit, one which we will certainly be returning too soon.”
“Absolutely fabulous, one of our favourite restaurants; food is always amazing and the staff are always so polite and helpful. I took my sister for her first time last week and she enjoyed it as much as I did so that's another customer gained. Always a nice experience thankyou The Fox, keep up the good work! Xx”

“A lovely time spent at The Watermill incorporated with our excursion to the Safari and Theme Park! Perfectly located with our stay at The Travelodge which was directly opposite! They say a place is considered great when it has good hospitality, and we can without a doubt say we had outstanding hosting, namely Sam and Lexi who demonstrated levels of impartial hospitality any employer of any establishment would desire, especially with them unknowingly having in their presence silver award winner Gideon Nash Director of Nature Care representing St Vincent and The Grenadines from the Chelsea Flower Show 2025! Top marks all the way for Sam and Lexi for making our trip more than pleasurable! We definitely recommend The Watermill to anyone visiting the area! 10 out of 10!!!!”
“I like the presentation. It was so well presented. Staff was so nice. I the extra care and effort due to myself and guests having special diets some was vegan some vegetarian. “2 night stay here for work and I happened upon The Gainsborough House Hotel at the last minute. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff could not do enough for me. I was welcomed with a free glass of wine, which was just what I needed after a long journey and the lounge/bar area was warm and cosy. My room was large and again, spotless. The bed and pillows were really comfortable and the room had some useful extras, such as hairdryer, full length mirror, iron and ironing board - oh and a bath! Great free wifi and large TV, coffee/tea and biscuits. Travelling for work a lot, I often find mediocre hotels and am happy to leave, however, The Gainsborough was just brilliant in every way, including a wide range of breakfast foods on offer. I would highly recommend and will certainly use this hotel again. The main shout out is for the staff. Everyone was so helpful and friendly - I haven't had such a warm welcome in a while!”
