The Mewes is the best clinic in Sussex and I trust the staff with all of my animals who are put at ease with the kindness, great care and compassion at all times. Highly recommend.”

“2ND UPDATE As always, imogen is the only person that Paco will allow to do his toenails, he is abit of a fairy lol. Always receive 5 star service from crossways. Over the many years of owning pets I have used many different vets but not one comes close to Crossways over last 15 years. I would never use another vet surgery. They truly care about ensuring their clients and the owners are getting the right information specific to their pet. My last bull terrier, Angel, had several strokes before getting dementia, and the only reason Angel continued to have such a great quality of life was down to Imogen and the work she put in ensuring everything was right. When Angel was almost 15 years old, we had to make that decision to put her to sleep, and imogen was there to do it as she always was, and even wrote a little tribute to Angel on the blue-cross rememberance page. We received very personal handwritten cards from Imogen, Chris and Maxine which we keep next to Angels ashes. After losing Angel we rescued another bully Xena, and she too will always be treated by Crossways, and they always go above and beyond. We took Xena in just other day as she was poorly, so I asked the vet if they would also do blood tests just to make sure everything was OK for my own piece of mind. Turned out her red blood cells were very high, but she is now back to normal. So Crossways don't treat owners like we are over the top, they are so understanding. As Xena is getting more and more stressed out with having toe nail clips now, I requested that she is sedated for her next clip, because of the state she gets into and they immediately agreed this would be better for Xena. If you have questions, they are always happy to provide info. So, Crossways for me are the best around. UPDATE1 Sadly we lost princess xena in jan 2024, on 26th March 2023. Dan gave our 2 new 4 year old bullies a full checkup as we had just picked them up from their first home and provided us with lots of options for their skin allergies. Fantastic service as always. I have always been delighted with Oscar's care from the experienced vets, for his several issues that require constant medication @ blood tests regularly but everyone makes the visits stress free. “We had to bring our dog in for an emergency appointment, very early on a Sunday morning. Sadly, we had to have Harry put to sleep later that afternoon, but care and pain relief was given to him so we could take him home for one last walk. The team (Hannah and the lady on reception) were so kind throughout what was undoubtedly the hardest day of our lives, saying goodbye to our 15 year old dog. The gave us the time and compassion we needed. Our usual vet seen him the previous morning and said nothing was wrong, we brought him here and he was scanned immediately and diagnosed. I know for sure I’ll come here if we ever get another pet. Thank you again for your care and empathy throughout, it made this difficult and traumatic time that much easier. I should also thank you for the card you sent to us later that week.”

“My GT4 needed a thorough clean/valet after a 2000 mile road trip across France in some pretty foul weather. Lots of mud outside and inside! I engaged with Kamil over email and he was always responsive, informative, very knowledgeable, and polite. I took the car into the VRS studio for a decontamination wash and interior clean, at a reasonable price for the car size. Kamil was running a little bit late to open up due to Brighton traffic (which can be terrible) and he let me know this via a text message. I'm very pleased with the outcome of the services performed, the car looks fantastic and has been put into winter storage. Next year, I'll look to some sort of coating with Kamil, as very happy with what he's done so far. Recommended.”

“I moved to Portslade in February and The Foghorn has become one of my favourite locals. I love ale and this place is heaven for that, straight from the barrel so every pint is fresh as a daisy. Tommy, Tim and all the staff are great too. They also have a great selection of wine and cider, friendly locals also add to the all round great vibe of the place. Proper pub!”

“Love this place! It’s huge which means loads of choice for natural healthy dog treats and a large selection of nature’s menu frozen food which is good. I have yet to notice a brand sold by one of the larger pet chains that isn’t here and it’s all well priced too. Staff are also really nice. Only complaint would be all the dog snacks by the till, I’m like a kid at the corner shop, by the time they’ve finished ringing through what I picked up in the shop, I’ve added several more items from their till side selection!”

“My gsd Loki went to Portland east Grinstead for surgery, he was neutered and had a gastropexy done. All the staff were lovely and understood my boys needs. I was updated when he went into surgery and that he had settled on the ward before hand. I had updates throughout his surgery they all were very understanding that I was worried about him. After recovery I got a lovely picture and a call to say he was doing well and a pick up time was arranged. The nurse was lovely who explained everything I had to do with him for his aftercare she also came to help my 51kg gsd into the car with me so he wasn’t jumping up. Honestly was the best experiences I’ve had. I’ve had follow up calls and messages to make sure he’s recovering ok too. Highly recommend Portland vets.”

“Thanks to the team at Henley House vets for looking after our Jasper. He had to go in for major surgery, the vet explained the procedure and its risks so we could make an informed decision. On the day of the operation the team kept us fully informed on his progress and when we picked him up they gave us all the information we needed to look after him post-op. They showed great care for Jasper and over the two weeks post-op we have been able to call with updates and questions. Jasper has been seen for his post op checks and again we have been fully supported by the whole team at Henley House. Thanks to the whole team.”

“We have been taking our cats to Cat’s Whiskers for around 11 years now. It is so good to go to a cat only vet where the waiting area is calm and there are no dog noises! Amanda is an excellent vet, quiet and calm, the appointments are never rushed and are very thorough. As mentioned in previous reviews, you do have to join a pet plan but if you have pets, you owe them that at least. This way they get regular, preventative health checks and are always up to date with flea and worm treatment and vaccinations. I am more than happy to recommend Amanda and her team who all do a wonderful job of making you feel at home, and every effort is made to make the experience as comfortable and stress free as possible for the cats and their owners.”

“Great little practice, friendly vet and didn't make me feel judged for opting out of some of the add-on extras that weren't medically required. Treated my dogs as individuals with their own quirks, approaching them for the first time with respect and care.”
