βI am a teacher there and it is amazing for kids to learnβ
βWise Owls was fantastic! Varied, fun and relaxed after a busy day at school. My little one absolutely loved it and asks to go back all the time. Thanks guys xβ
βMassive thanks to a lovely lady who helped me secure a pair of jeggings on Monday.. She very kindly contacted another store to get my size. A real star!!β
βWhole building and staff are very well themed. Really liked the people that were in character. The overall experience is immersive as there is the rest of the house to explore and we enjoyed playing the pinball machine. Spent nearly an hour exploring the house first which was a great precursor and an excellent value-add. If you go I encourage you to do the house tour first before doing the escape room. The escape room, Victorβs lair, itself was a good mix of challenge and thematic scare (no jump scares and my youngest at 11 was ok with it all). I liked the dark / low level lighting element. There were a couple of red herring elements to the puzzles which made things challenging. Not too easy, not too difficult. The person running the room gave us just the right level of help and clue. Four of us did the room together and that was about right. Youβd want at least two and it worked well with four. In total 2:30 hours of great experience.β
βA Heartfelt Tribute to Fat Sams Nightclub: The End of an Era As I reflect on my recent visit to Fat Sams Nightclub for its final night, I am filled with both nostalgia and deep gratitude for the remarkable venue it has been. My relationship with the club spans over two decades, having had the pleasure of assisting in a small way with setting up an old sound system when it first opened its doors. Even though I had a minor involvement, the memories I have from those early days and the more recent experiences are rich and meaningful. Visiting Fat Sams for its farewell was both a bittersweet and joyous occasion. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was reminded of the warmth and friendliness that defined this venue. The staff, from security to bartenders, were not only professional but also genuinely approachable and welcoming. Security personnel were vigilant but maintained a pleasant demeanor, striking the perfect balance between ensuring safety and contributing to the atmosphere. The bar staff, quick and efficient, delivered service with a smile, adding to the inclusive, friendly vibe that Fat Sams has always been known for. Despite the passage of time, the venue itself remained largely unchanged in its layout, preserving the character that made it unique. Yes, the space was small, with a familiar pinch point near the bar and gents' toilets, but that never detracted from the overall experience. The separate dancefloor and disco area maintained the vibrant energy I fondly remembered. It was as if the spirit of the place had been carefully preserved, even as the years passed. I understand that in recent times, Fat Sams, like many other nightclubs, struggled with lower footfall. The changing landscape of nightlifeβfewer young people drinking, and the rise of venues like Wetherspoons that cater to a different crowdβundoubtedly presented challenges. As someone who operates a venue myself, I empathize deeply with the difficulty of keeping a nightclub afloat during quiet periods. It's heartbreaking to witness the decline of a place that you've poured your heart and soul into, especially when the passion and effort to maintain high standards are evident at every turn. I have to say, I was genuinely impressed by the quality and care evident in every aspect of Fat Sams during my last visit. From the state-of-the-art Void sound system to the computerized lighting setup, the venue was not only modern but impeccably maintained. Shaun and his team clearly invested a tremendous amount of effort into ensuring that everything remained top-notch. Their commitment to creating a great atmosphere, even in the face of quieter nights, is a testament to their dedication and passion for the industry. It is with a heavy heart that I acknowledge the closure of one of the last rural nightclubs in the Southwest. Fat Sams will undoubtedly be missed by its loyal patrons who partied there for years, right up until the very end. The final night was a fitting tribute to the club's legacy, with the hardcore supporters staying until the early hours, myself included. It felt only right to be one of the last to leave, having been part of the journey in some small way, and to celebrate the end of an era. To Shaun and the entire team at Fat Sams, I offer my utmost respect and sincere gratitude. Your tireless efforts to maintain a venue that was always welcoming, fun, and meticulously operated did not go unnoticed. Though the doors have now closed, the memories made there will live on. Iβm proud to have revisited and stood with you until the very end. Thank you for the many years of joy, music, and unforgettable nights. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors, and much respect for the incredible work you've done over the years. Fat Sams may be gone, but it will never be forgotten. With deepest gratitude, Paul Stoodleyβ
βTruly excellent service by a lovely young lady named Chelsea who was the Sunday supervisor. She greeted me warmly and immediately interrupted what she was doing to serve me. She is an absolute credit to Shoezone. Thanking you very much.β
βDelicious food and wonderful staff, at a very reasonable price. Lots of variety, too, which made getting one of the chef's sets an exciting surprise with regard to what fish we would get.β
βBest pizza iβve ever had hands down. Staff were super polite and made my food quick. Food came really quick and had nothing wrong with it. Will be coming againβ
βGood food, good service. Waiter was very helpful and friendly. Food was of a good standard and presented well. The drinks were tasty! Price is okay for what you get, after all, it is Friday's. Tables were clean and there is good social distancing measures in place. Booking a table is recommended as lots of the tables have been cut off. We had much better service here than we did at Cribbs! We would definitely use this one from now on.β
βMy 5 star review is solely for this branch only and not Co-op in general! Otherwise it would be 3 stars. I found out they do money off if you're a member of Co-op so I down loaded the app and signed up in store to get my cat food for Β£3.50... anyway turns out I couldn't use any of the app discounts in store but the BEST man behind the till must've felt sorry for me because he used his discount card on my shopping because I was misled by the app. Such a nice chap! The staff here are really friendly and in the past few years when I've got too good to go bags... you get TONNES of stuff that's actually decent.β
βBeen wanting to try this place since I saw the video of Marco PW reviewing it eating here on Instagram. It was a weekday lunchtime, I was the only visitor. Thereβs a deal for one person set menu. Β£26 gets you any two starters, any main plus any rice or noodle dish. The food was excellent, absolute perfection. I wish I had been more adventurous as there are so many interesting dishes on the menu. I will be coming back and bringing a group next time.β
βCarluccio's Bristol - a really lovely, tasty and well presented cooked breakfast. Service and customer interaction was excellent.β
βMe and my cousin were hunting for a club and stumbled across Labyrinth. What caught our eye? The ownerβs savage sarcastic replies to reviews β we just had to see what kind of place this was. Turns out, itβs amazing! Great vibe, super friendly staff, and we even met a cool Polish security guy who made the night even better. Totally worth the curiosity trip!β
βBig shout out to the Dominos at Chepstow. Ordered a last minute order for 25 pizzas which was ready in the time it took us to drive the 20 minutes from where we were staying... Great work!! thank you!β
βReally really tasty food. My favourite is the Singapore fried rice. The pork is so flavoursome! Delivery is really fast.β
