“My 19 year old son joined the Community Experience Placement in Esparza, Costa Rica for 3 weeks in May and really enjoyed his work in the different fields. He taught first aid courses in a school, worked on a construction site and helped out with 3 to 6 year old children. The responsible there is Andy and he is very helpful and has a lot of experience and you always have the feeling the volunteers are in very good hands! My son also really enjoyed having contact with the locals and of course enjoyed the beauty of this fantastic country! “Lovely location near the train station, friendly upbeat teachers that help engage me! I love the different variations we do during the class and the different routines we learn too. It helps going over the same routine from before to help me practise as well. It feels very welcoming, I didn’t expect to have a change of teacher but it’s nice to have new people and experiences! They have been great in answering all my questions online and in the class. The single cubicle toilets are also amazing being gender neutral and private! Decent price for classes and I love how there are term times and higher up levels I can end up going up to. Perfect duration of the class too where it is just about enough for my energy levels where I feel tired towards the end.”

“My son has been attending Ambourne for over a year, since he was 1. He enjoys going and I can drop him off knowing he is happy there. All the staff are incredibly friendly - I’ve always loved how they greet my son by name no matter which room they work in or their role in the nursery. The nursery’s Montessori approach is what makes them stand out from other local nurseries. We particularly like the fact the children are encouraged to spend time outdoors either in their lovely natural garden or on little trips e.g to the park or to feed the ducks. The communication from staff is brilliant; they give useful information on what my son has done each day (verbal handover and via Tapestry) as well as regular ‘parents evenings’”

“I was recommended The Moda House by a friend who stays there regularly when on business in the area. What a recommendation it was. Truly a Five Star establishment. Architecturally a lovely building and beautifully furnished. The reception from Jo and her husband Duncan could not have been warmer and their obvious love for the house and their guests was plain to see. The room I was given, Room One, was elegant and very well furnished. The bed must bear special mention as it was probably the most comfortable I have slept in for many a year. The same can be said about the fabulous pillows. Maybe a small point but one which can mean the difference between an excellent night’s sleep and not. The en-suite was again superb and the shower in the morning was the perfect way to start the day. Powerful might be a slight underestimation! Down for breakfast in the morning and the room was an absolute delight. It would certainly be my study if it were my own private house. The centrepiece is the table. Totally stunning and unique. Jo and Duncan have provided a short history of the table which is definitely worth reading. I had the cooked breakfast which was excellent and the coffee was also superb. All in all a truly Five Star experience, my only regret was that I would only be there for one evening but the next time I am in the area it will be the place I choose to stay. Whilst not strictly part of this review, mention should, I feel, be made of the ease of finding places to eat and drink whilst staying at The Moda. It is centrally situated and as the information folder in the room tells you there is no shortage of establishments for an evening meal/drink. Immediately opposite is The Horseshoe, a pub which has gathered many awards for the quality of its seven real ales. Not difficult to see why. Whilst there are several restaurants catering for many different tastes I had been recommended by my friend to try the Tudor Raj. A worthy recommendation serving very, very good Indian food. Thank you again Jo and Duncan for a wonderfully memorable stay.”

The Curtis School of Dance has just the right balance of warmth, enthusiasm, high standards, creativity and passion so that students flourish and grow in their abilities. My daughter has gained what I hope will be a life long love and appreciation of ballet. We have been delighted with the lessons, the shows, the pantos, watching week and even doing the exams! I am so grateful for the positive, affirming atmosphere that they manage to create - it makes a difference.”
