“This pub was welcoming, and a relaxing place to have lunch. The menu had a good selection of typical pub dishes. Simple, rather than sophisticated, my steak sandwich was delicious, my wife enjoyed her quiche. Portions were generous. Pretty good value too.”
“Friendly staff and a fantastic array of quality beer, cider and lagers. Also good original music.”
“We hired the cellars for a party celebration and it was fantastic. Great location, easy to get to from town, perfect size, amazing speakers and our own private bar all night. Thanks again SJWV, we’ll be back x”
“Gab the manager was a great host. Looked after us so well. And his brother behind the bar makes class cocktails.”
“Completely forgot about this place until I was driving through Widcombe the other day and it popped into my brain. Was happy to see the place still as it was. The burgers the chicken, the chips and the milkshake are all 10 out of 10 in my opinion. not eaten here for years, and it's just as good as I remember!! Highly recommended!!!”
“Posh atmosphere , just open back . Nice people , good service .”
“Went in there today (Sunday 16th August 2020) the roast pork belly was absolutely outstanding, some of the best crackling and juicy tender pork I've ever eaten at a pub/restaurant! The gravy was full of rich flavour, the vegetables were cooked to perfection and a great selection too. I really highly recommend this establishment! The food really was top draw, attentive staff too and very well organised and sign posted during these times made the whole experience a real treat, i will be returning and I cant wait to do so! Also the lemon cheese cake with vanilla ice cream was the perfect finisher for this delicious meal!”
“Our first time in Jack Hare's Bar but will definitely go again. The food was delicious, the young staff were happy, friendly and very efficient. Not huge portion size, which suits me perfectly. All five of us enjoyed the food immensely. Thank you.”
“An absolutely fantastic venue and staff! My daughter got Married here in December & we couldn’t have asked for more! Everything was perfect & the staff did a marvellous job through the weekend! A special mention to Jenna who braved the rain with drinks while the last photos were taken! You’re a star!!”
“Came today with my family in a large group for the breakfast with santa experience! the children absolutely loved every minute including the adults. The atmosphere was christmassy, the staff was great and food was delicious! We will definitely be making this a new family tradition as it was so magical, santa and his elf helper were so warm and welcoming they really went above and beyond to cater for our family as large group (7 children & 10 adults) they were so patient and allowed us to take lots of lovely group family photos in our invidiual families and allowed us all in the room so all parents/grandparents were able to see the joy on the children's faces! thank you harvester for a fantastic family christmas experience!! ❤️❤️”
“This is an Asian Fusion restaurant/bar/cafe in Bath. We ate at around 6 pm. The food was lovely and service was excellent. There is seating inside or outside in a lovely little courtyard. The restaurant is up a few steps and just off one of the main shopping streets in Bath. The staff were very friendly.”
“Lovely pub in a fantastic location. Staff were really friendly and we had a lovely time. I had the soup and the only vegan main, the portobello mushroom. I brought a giant dog and came in with my friend and his elderly dad. We were all very well looked after.”
“Stunning country pub and everything you would expect from its location, lovely warm hosts and staff, great menu options swift efficient service, beautiful pub and good to see local produce in offer”
“Had the Sunday beef roast here and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was excellent—cozy, quiet, and surprisingly spacious. Everything felt clean and well looked after, which made for a really comfortable dining experience. A great spot if you're looking for a relaxed place to enjoy a traditional roast without the usual crowd or noise.”
“Visited this pub twice while on vacation in the UK. Enjoyable, relaxing, friendly with good food. Recommend.”
“Fantastic meal had the roast beef, host Paul lovely bloke very attentive. We all have to say one thing as no one is perfect. Thicken the gravy but still deserve top rating .”
“We had a really nice evening in here 2 months ago while visiting Bath for a friends wedding. The lady bartender with blond hair (forget her name it was long ago) was lovely and made me the spiciest margarita on request and it was lovely.”
“Had AWESOME gluten free BEER BATTERED fish and chips here! What a treat for someone with celiac. It was a massive portion and delicious. Unfortunately they only had regular malt vinegar. The service was fantastic and it was lovely to sit in porch room and watch people walk by on a sunny day. The indoor space is also dreamily gorgeous and I would die to have a cold drink here by the fire on a cold night. Would for sure recommend coming here.”
“If you ever need a proper burger that is by far the best, you can't beat Schwarts. Myself and family have been coming here for over 20 years and it's always been the best and stood the test of time absolutely love this place and couldn't recommend it enough!”
“Very friendly locals pub and the staff are very friendly and helpful”
“From the smell as you go in you can tell that the coffee is going to be good. I had a really nice latte that was more on the strong end with woody and slight caramel notes. For £3.75 it feels pretty steep and I wanted to hate it but actually do rate the coffee. Service was friendly. The decor is simple but nice with plenty of light. I did also like that they had a coffee flavour wheel on the wall that I could look at while trying my coffee too.”
“Nice modern build. Used downstairs room which has a bar, disabled access, no parking structure in area of residential only parking. Free on street parking further up the hill, its a steep hill too.”
“Lovely location in bathe, out the way enough so traffic isn't a hassle and can park easy and free, but close enough that frequent buses get you onto town in ten minutes. Also a close little cafe that does lovely breakfast. Rooms are lovely and a nice change from generic hotel rooms and the lady that met us on arrival was lovely.”
“Enjoyed a swift drink and an eventful conversation with one of the locals.”
“Absolutely gorgeous! Big salads, rose prosecco just what we needed! Stunning views, will definitely be returning!”
“Butchers Arms has been our regular Thursday night pub for many years. 15+! Always well cared for every week. A drinkers pub that's well worth a visit.”
“We visited on the off chance and were surprised at how helpful and friendly the staff were. We returned the following week and discovered the same. We were helped setting up Wi-Fi to plan a future journey while having a drink. If you want a quiet evening drink definitely a pub to visit.”
“Great choice of ciders, lovely Sunday and midweek roast , as well as breakfast on a Friday and Saturday I HIGHLY recommend this pub”
“We stayed for two nights at the Plaine for my sons wedding. We had breakfast two days and a meal for the bridal party on the day after the wedding. The service and food was five star. The staff were friendly and helpful especially Lola who was a delight and kept us all amused. Would happily return if in the area again.”
