“I went to this store for the first time recently. The staff are really friendly and helpful. It's so nice to have some banter and it makes me want to go back there in future. It's a bit like Argos where you chose out of the catalogue the product you want, write the number down. Hand over the paper and pay for the item and wait for it to be picked. Suggestion: Check the catalogue to see if it says "next day". This means you can pay for it but they will order it for you to collect the next day. They may not have all the items in stock on that day but this is covered by the catalogue. Love going there, now I know it's there I'll definitely be a returning customer. Quicker than getting to B & Q for me.”
“Fantastic place to go to for all your D-i-Y essentials - some materials and all the tools you could ever wish for. Click and collect could not be simpler. The counter staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.”
“cute place with a lot of different authentic products. in a nice area and the cashier was nice”
“One of my favourite places to shop, for snacks, ingredients on the upper floors. (Especially Konjac and Gluten/bean curd snacks) Your best go to for affordable tasty food! Extremely helpful staff who will guide you towards anything you're looking for, please visit, expand your platter!”
“This shop is definitely the best Polish shop in Bath. Friendly staff and the lady owner is always very helpful and happy to preorder bits and pieces they're out of stock. Consistent and pleasant experience, so not a surprise 5⭐ P.s. This one in town next to Odeon is a total disaster.”
“Great village stores and post office. Extensive variety throughout the shop, something for everyone, fresh fruit and veg, tinned foods, bakery goods, wines and spirits. Alladdins cave !”
“This is a wonderful outdoor stall selling fresh fruit and vegetables at very good prices. It is just outside Marks and Spencer and open from 8:00am on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. This is an excellent safe place to stock up with fresh healthy produce without having to enter a crowded supermarket.”
“Good prices, great range of produce and products, friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend for any food shopping in Easton”
“Stokes is a miracle of Moorland road. Having lived in the area all my life stokes has been a true winner in recent years. Wonderful fruit and veg, as well as loads of ingredients which are harder to find elsewhere. I have now moved away and relish a chance to visit every time I am back.”
“VERY helpful staff and a great selection of herbs and spices.”
“Great shop, competitive prices, very clean and amazing selection of Arab, Turkish, Kurdish, Persian foods. Best naan bakery in BS5 and I’ve never seen frozen mulberries for sale anywhere else!”
“I couldn't figure why I'd give 5 stars to a supermarket, but then I tried to rationalise not giving it 5 and couldn't think of a reason to knock a star off.”
“Staff were so helpful when I went back for a minor problem with a product (florentines). All sorted quickly, very friendly and efficient - really excellent customer service from both the customer assistant and manager.”
“This is the best Baltic/Eastern European shop locally. Large selection of produce. The staff are helpful and very welcoming.”

“I’ve been living in the area for over two years, and Hugo’s on North Street has become one of my go-to spots. The quality of the fresh, seasonal produce is consistently excellent — the strawberries and tomatoes this summer have been especially delicious! Beyond fruit and veg, they also stock a fantastic selection of cured meats, high-end cheeses, and imported pantry staples that really elevate a special meal. Whether you're planning a standout dinner or just want to eat more healthily day-to-day, Hugo’s is a real gem. Highly recommend!”
“Friendly shop, lovely staff, good opening hours and lots of essentials available to buy.”
“I recently discovered this amazing Polish grocery store and I'm absolutely blown away by the selection of authentic Polish products they offer. From traditional sausages and meats to delicious baked goods and sweets, as well as there is a huge range of alcohol such as Polish beers and vodkas, they have everything you could want to satisfy your cravings for Polish cuisine. The quality of the products is outstanding, and you can tell that the store takes great care to ensure that everything is fresh and top-notch. The staff are friendly, helpful, and always happy to provide recommendations or answer any questions you may have. The prices are very reasonable, especially given the high quality of the products. If you're looking for a taste of Poland in England, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!”
“Great deals on chicken breast and lots of other things, really big chicken breast 300g+ each much bigger than supermarket. Super fresh, I bought 5kg and have frozen. Great range of cuts and offal too.”
“Always very helpful, everything you need in a local shop.”
“We only moved to the area recently (Alveston) This store is GREAT, They have such a wide range of stock you would be mistaken if you thought you were in a supermarket. The staff there (Manni particularly) are friendly and always happy to help just a great all round shop, Thank you for great customer service, Tyson.”
“Great local store, good selection of food and drink from local producers as well as Co-op products. Good beer and wine selection. And they were literally lifesavers during the pandemic when they set up home delivery to people isolating. Legends.”
“This shop is brilliant, and super well kept, I was impressed with the range of items available and the presence of some more niche ingredients you may otherwise be hard pushed to find. Prices are fair and on the mark with (at a glance) many being cheaper than supermarkets. On a personal level I liked seeing full shelves, products faced up properly and generally a clean and tidy environment. Even the dude on the counter bothering to say hello was a nice touch. Myself and fellow chef will certainly be back. Keep up the great work, hopefully you will indeed be friends forever :)”
“We've been getting their Veg Boxes for a number of years now. They are great, always filled with well-thought out contents and the service from Carl and Mags is brilliant.”
“Pat and Martin are about the friendliest and most knowledgeable wholefood retailers you are ever likely to come across. Their shop is a cut above similar ethical retailers with a really wide range of unusual brands and products to tempt your palate! If only all shops were this much fun to shop in…”
“I have been into Mr Riddifords shop several times now sinse moving to the local area, its an aladind cave of variety . . .(I shop there particularly for the extra strong cheese that he stocks) but he has such a wide range and his home cooked food and quiches are amazing, definitely my favourite shop on the Thornbury High St. Mark, Alveston”
“Fantastic shop with a range of products and great advice from staff. The team there are always helpful, whether it's recommendations or help with filling containers and they're always friendly”
