“Modest café situated right on Barry Island seafront. I wasn't expecting much in the way of either quality or value. However I was very pleasantly surprised when my lunch arrived, to receive a generous slice of steak and ale pie which was absolutely packed with filling, a decent pile of nicely-cooked chips and peas, all served piping hot on a hot plate, just as it should be! It was also very nice that the gravy came separately in a jug with a lid, to keep the contents hot... brilliant! The staff were clearly working hard during lunch service and yet still managed a smile and to exchange pleasantries. I'll definitely be back, next time I'm in town. “I came all the way from Manchester for my hair transplant with Dr. Ted Miln and needed a place to stay nearby. I was tired from the journey, so this place was absolutely perfect. The clinic recommended it, and it turned out to be one of the best places I’ve stayed in. Getting in and out was super simple and convenient with the passcode they sent. I was gutted to miss out on the restaurant since it was closed on Monday and Tuesday, but I’ll definitely try to dine in next time I visit when it’s open. The room had everything I needed — very comfortable, with great showers, and I really loved the interior. It was exactly what I needed to rest and recover after the procedure. The location is ideal too: just a 5-minute walk to the Co-op and a 5-minute drive to the clinic. I could see my car from my room, and the place felt safe and secure. Overall, one of the best places I’ve stayed in. Highly recommend!”

“Had my lunch here today had the most tasty half chicken I think I’ve had in a long time,it was cooked on a bbq and had the most delicious spices on it. Also came with fries and salad the salad came with a homemade spicy mayo that was also very good. Definitely would order this again.staff are also friendly. Highly recommend this dish”

“I use Zoe's cafe twice a week and the food is lovely. I ask zoe to make certain dishes to meet my dietary requirements and she is always very glad pull out all the stops for me. I highly recommend zoe's cafe who offers a wide variety menu. The gluten free scotch eggs are a personal favourite and the food always feels home cooked. Top marks”

“A remarkable place, with space for exhibitions and art studios. They also serve (vegetarian) food during the day; but we were there for an evening event so I can't comment on that. But I'm impressed with the vision and facilities of Barnabas Arts House. I'm sure we'll be visiting again.”

“What a warm welsh welcome to this local cafe based in Beddau. The food is absolutely beautiful and plentiful. I enjoyed an ultimate breakfast as the next size up was too much for me. If you like a challenge and enjoy your food, this is one experience you need to try. A breakfast of champions cooked to perfection by Amber. The cafe seats 28 people, and it also has a toilet. If yout ever anywhere near Beddau and feeling hungry, this is the place to be, whether it's breakfast or lunch. Amber has something to ticle your taste buds and test your limits. Highly recommend a visit”

“Went here recently for a vegan afternoon tea, and was absolutely blown away! We booked in advance and went as a group, and were treated to some absolutely delicious treats! Sandwiches, tea, scones, iced custard slices, cupcakes - we were thoroughly spoiled! I'll definitely be back.”

“I'd been meaning to book Anna-Loka for some time after seeing it on Dirty Vegan and reading the positive reviews about the food there. My partner and I have recently gone vegetarian, so I finally booked us a table for our first vegan experience and it didn't disappoint. We had the sharing platter for our starter and the menanam burger for our main. It was quite simply delicious! The deserts were great too. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service very swift. We left the restaurant feeling very content and will definitely be visiting again. “We found this place on Google while staying at Premier Inn. A walk of no more than 5mins. A warm welcome,restaurant was very clean and tidy. We were treated as honoured guests,staff courteous and friendly. A bottle of Pinot,a couple of lagers sipped while we waited for dinner. Garlic bread for 2 , lol,,,its huge,dripping with butter,hot cheese and lashings of garlic. The olives where lovely. Spag bol was rich and tasty. Lasagne was luscious. Seafood linguine was sublime. Deserts ,lovely ! Fabulous evening, very reasonable and a huge thank you.”

“The owner Steve, is an absolutely lovely guy & nothing was too much trouble. I arrived at 12pm & Steve checked me in straight away. The guest house was absolutely spotless & the grounds were immaculate. I stayed in room 2 which had a very comfy bed, tv, great WiFi connection, charging points next to the bed, tea/coffee facilities & ensuite. The breakfast was first class. Each room also has 1 parking space. Ty Castell is in an excellent location & only a 2 minute walk to the town centre & train station. I will definitely stay again when in the area & highly recommend this guest house.”

“As a regular who’s come here almost every week for 2 years, I can say that this is easily my favourite place in Cardiff! They have very knowledgeable and passionate (not to mention kind, friendly and hilarious) staff. The interior design is immaculate and the atmosphere is always perfect! They also host great events with live bands/comedy. It’s on the pricey side, but I think it’s worth it, especially hearing the owner’s exiting plans for further renovations! It’s also dog friendly :) It’s a great spot to study, but there are limited tables that allow laptops, so sometimes it gets tight for workspace. Also there’s no free wifi at weekends. This is just because the turnaround got real slow - since it’s so nice, people wanted to stay and study all day (us included!). The rules for laptops and wifi definitely help the atmosphere, because it keeps the place more social! They also sell great beans that they roast here, and coffee equipment :) Our favourite things to get are the vegan chocolate cake, the toasties, lattes, and V60s!”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bigmoose Coffee in Cardiff is an absolute gem! As a non-profit coffee shop, they not only serve delicious food and drinks but also support a great cause. We tried the Avocado Co Bagel, which comes with avocado, mozzarella, tomato and bacon. It was perfectly prepared and incredibly tasty. The mocha we had alongside it was rich and satisfying. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a delightful meal and a chance to contribute to a good cause. Will definitely be back!”

We always love the food and service is consistently brilliant, however today in particular was really busy, but Lille was attentive, kind and was still smiling and chatty despite the rush. Food and drinks came quickly and we didn't feel rushed at all. Overall Lille made sure we had not just a lovely breakfast but a thoroughly enjoyable experience today. Thank you! ”

“Fab location. Would recommend this property. Hadnt realised upon booking that the rooms were not en-suite but there are so many bathroom facilities/showers available (which were all spotlessly clean) it really wasnt an issue. the continental breakfast was also an added bonus.”

“Confess that I haven't been here for years. Went early for breakfast today. Greeted by a clean and tidy cafe with a happy couple,they were busy in the open kitchen hand making pies. Had a medium breakfast...plenty of food on the plate. Great price too. Wont leave it so long next time”
