“Wow!!! Just had the most amazing 30th birthday cake made last week. So delicious-so many people have commented on how tasty, light and moist the cake was. Nothing was too much trouble and Hollie’s managed to turn it around with just 2 weeks notice!!! Great value too. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hollies for cakes-even the tea room looks great-just need to pop in for a bite to eat now.”
“We had a fantastic stay at Village Hotel Coventry and would happily return. From check-in to check-out, the experience was smooth and enjoyable. The staff were exceptionally friendly, professional, and always willing to help, which really made a difference.”
“Overall was great. The beefeater was very nice. Hotel on a main road but couldn't hear the traffic.”
“Gill is always absolutely amazing. She takes such incredible care of our dog and he always comes away happy and well groomed.”
“What excellent value for money. Far exceeded my expectations. Staff very friendly and helpful, the room small and basic. But everything you need, spotlessly clean. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. Looking forward to my next stay.”
“Great hotel for Travellers. I had a lovely large bedroom with 2 king-size beds, on my stay but I did upgrade on booking invite. Evening meal was limited in choice but good portions of food.”
“Wonderful experience here. The owners and staff are super friendly. The location is great - on a quiet, pretty street a 6 minute walk from the station, and the room was spotless and well appointed. And breakfast was tasty and generous. For the price it’s a superb guesthouse”
“We have just spent 2 nights at Achill House October 2024,myself and husband in a double room and our daughter with 3 young children in the family room. We were made most welcome. The rooms were very comfortable and met our needs very nicely. Mary has thought about peoples needs and provides lots of ameneties and extras. We sat in a booth in the garden one night and in the lounge another night, very pleasant. I looked round the spa areas and thought they were very special. Next time i think i will book a treatment.Parking is free, also wifi. We had breakfast at The Wilsons just round the corner. Quite a good deal as we had children eat for £1 each, used at breakfast and evening meal. Beware though- adult breakfast £6.99 but coffee is another£2.50 each (bottomless). We will certainly go again in the future. Thanks Mary and staff.”
“Lovely place having an activity foe everyone. You can walk along dozens types of trees, have a kayaking of a pedalling boat across the river, stop for memorable picture between colorful flowers or have a coffee / ice cream with a view. Recommended”
“Went to Common Ground for the first time this more. Lovely space, warm welcome. Love the mid century furniture. Flat white was perfect. Attend a mum and baby yoga group- thank you for letting us use your space. My daughter loved all the plants. We’ll be back!”
“A fantastic experience yet again. The lunch menu (£9.90 per person, which includes generous extensive starters, unlimited bread, a delicious main and a soft drink) is excellent.”
“I was very lucky to find myself at the Coundon House for an evening. I stayed in Room 1 double with an en-suite and it was bliss! Everything I could have needed and a very relaxing and homely stay. Breakfast was wonderful and Regina was very welcoming. Thank you for a fab stay!”
“We stayed for just 1 night and was very pleasantly surprised. From the convenience of the free car park, to the friendly welcome on arrival (and throughout our stay), this is a very inviting place to stay. The room was good, being very clean and well equipped. Being on the front of the building, we wondered about High Street traffic, but it was fine, thanks to noise reducing windows. Nice clean towels and liquid soap and shower gel, along with kettle and tea and coffee, made this a very convenient room to stay in. The pub is nicely finished and, again, very welcoming with very professional, confident and positive / happy staff. Drinks were good, and the atmosphere is inviting. Being right on the High Street is also very convenient for a stroll through Coleshill. For the price, facilities, convenience and welcome I will not hesitate to stay again. After staying in a whole range of hotels around the world, right up to 5 star 'plastic' hotels, I would always now go for a place like the Coleshill. It is a far more intimate, friendly and welcoming stay!”
“Very friendly and approachable. Jane was amazing and shared photos of our cat whilst we were away. Made us feel more relaxed about leaving him. Highly recommend Lords Cattery.”
“Food’s taste are really good especially lamb meat with rice. The prices are great and the quality is okay. Order prepared in less than 10mins, however, they can improve their service such as make a place for family and add menu. They accept cash and card.”
“Great value breakfast and friendly place. Will be back.”
“I live locally so a great place to pop over to.. It's an old quaint traditional hotel pub restaurant..it's a Chef and Brewer and always has a great menu with offers..food is freshly made..good portions and lovely friendly staff..in the Summer you can sit outside by the river. Highly recommend”
“I had my son's birthday party here, the staff been very kind and polite, I strongly recommend, thank you all!”
“Was absolutely fantastic, ordered it on a Friday at 5pm for it to arrive after 20 minutes! And we were the village over! The delivery driver was incredibly sweet also. The food was piping hot, which is always appreciated, and the food was well seasoned, even down to the pork rice. If you want a Chinese takeaway in the area surrounding Kenilworth or in Kenilworth, go with Tai Pan!”
“Pat the land lady was so friendly and will go above and beyond to make sure your ok ! Ideal room for when working away couldn’t ask for much more and the price you can’t beat it ! If your working away I suggest this place! The breakfast is really good aswell”
“Wonderful flamenco singing guitar and dance”
“Just had a Thai Set meal takeaway. I thought "Oh! This is going to be a mistake" Well how wrong can you be? We weren't taken by the menu anywhere else and we wanted to try Blue Orchid. I don't really like Thai Green Curry as it's always a bit watery and bland (basically coconut milk). This was the best I've ever tasted. Beaitufully seasoned with authentic ingredients. The Beef in Oyster sauce was better than any Chinese I've had. Tender meat and nicely flavoured. Dishes are not bulked up with chopped carrot and onion like a lot of places. The Starter selection was very good. Nice accompaniments. All beautifully presented and arrived (despite a wait) still Hot enough that it didn't need reheating. Really pleased we chose this meal. Very much looking forward to visiting the restaurant in person.”
“the waitor servan is an absolute delight. his customer service and genuine care for others is truly impeccable! thank you servan for making our morning. thank you chef shane for a delicious breakfast!”
“We’ve just returned from a wonderful three-night stay at the Leonardo Hotel, Hinkley Island, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. This hotel is impressive in both size and service, running smoothly and efficiently, but what truly stood out were the incredible staff members. Each and every team member we encountered went above and beyond to ensure we had the most pleasant stay. A special shout-out to Beth and Faith at reception, who welcomed us with warm, genuine smiles and were always ready to assist with any request. Their customer service was second to none, making us feel like valued guests from the start. Similarly, Meghan at the bar was an absolute gem—so friendly, professional, and attentive, making our evenings even more enjoyable. It’s clear that the staff at the Leonardo Hotel are not only well-trained, but also truly care about their guests, and that makes all the difference. They really went the extra mile to make our families’ half-term breaks unforgettable. Thank you so much to the entire team for making our stay so special. You are a true credit to the Leonardo Hotel chain, and we can’t wait to return! The Gomez & Welch families”
“The Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport-NEC truly exceeded expectations and ranks as the best Holiday Inn I have stayed at to date. The quality of the accommodation was excellent. The room was modern, impeccably clean, and provided a comfortable base for my stay. However, the real highlight was the food. The Open Lobby Restaurant offers a dining experience far superior to its competitors. Breakfast was well-cooked with a great selection to start the day. Crucially, the evening meals were excellent—a significant step up from other Holiday Inns—and were genuinely worth the money. It's rare for hotel dining to be a key selling point, but here, it absolutely is.”
“We stayed here for my sisters wedding. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. But for us it was the location and grounds themselves that truly made the stay brilliant. It is beautiful and was the perfect setting for a wedding. I would love to stay here again!”
“I have been working away from home for years now and this the best most welcoming clean place I have stayed Chris the owner is a real genuine guy and very helpful I have already recommended this place to friends thank you.”
“The Jacobean Hotel is on the Holyhead Road going out of Coventry in the direction of Birmingham. The bar area is a lovely place to go to for eats and drinks and if you need to you can stay in the hotel too. The Jacobean is in very pleasant surroundings. If you decide to try the outside seating, you can see the countryside area called Coundon Wedge which is a lovely place to go to for a walk. There are wooded areas there, fields and a stream, all of which is beautiful. The Jacobean Hotel in this lovely area, is highly recommended.”
“Returning as regular locals . Very pleasant atmosphere and ambience, great decor, friendly staff and nothing too much trouble. Tracy back in role in the coffee lounge , looked after us really well, thanks. Nice to see staff from before the refurb. We will recommend to friends and family.”
“I stayed in room number 5, it was a perfect size, has everything I needed and was very comfy. There was lots of pubs and shops nearby and loads of places to eat. The owner was lovelly and very helpful, not that I needed much help but she was easy to contact and my stay for 3 nights was very nice. Highly recommended”
