Despite a last-minute cancellation from another restaurant, Hanan and Inam went above and beyond to accommodate our group of 18 people with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. Their service was nothing short of outstanding—attentive, courteous, and truly welcoming from start to finish. The food was phenomenal. We ordered the Tawa for 4, and every element was bursting with flavor. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked, and the pakoras were crisp, fresh, and delicious. Portion sizes were generous, and the quality was evident in every bite. The mocktails were equally impressive—refreshing, vibrant, and beautifully presented. I tried four different ones, and each one was fantastic. A special thank you to Chef Shayru for delivering such exceptional dishes. This was honestly one of the best dining experiences we’ve had, and we can’t wait to return. I’ll be recommending Shish Mahal to all my friends and family. “Order arrived 15 minutes before it was supposed to, piping hot food! Best chippy in woodburn, I got a cheeseburger in batter on a roll. there rolls the best part to be honest as they aren’t seriously puffy, dry or to doughey! There not stinjy at all always have the perfect amount of cheese in it! 10/10 Absolute fantastic been craving one all day and they’ve made my night :)”

“Excellent Indian food. We order at least once a week from them. Very friendly staff. Prompt delivery. I haven't actually found any restaurant in town who can beat them in terms of quality, which is probably the reason we don't eat in Indian restaurants. Try the Murgh Chat, and the Chicken Nantara.”

“Oh My Dear God this place is a must if you enjoy kababs the staff are on point see you come in always have a smile on there faces, ask what you like, remember customers tells you your order before your about to say it considering I've been in twice thats good they remembered, also they make their wraps in house they don't ues store bought that made me love this place the food is out standing the shop may look a bit run down worse for ware etc but that doesn't change the quality of food they make out standing takeaway highly recommended to anyone wanting some good quality food worth a visit in my books”

“My 4 year old came in with my boyfriend and told them they were picking me up from work, he was given pizza dough, tomato sauce for the base and cheese so we could make a pizza together! “Last night, Friday 8th August 2025, I brought a bus load of gig goers, I was feeling pretty hungry,.so I found this place, I ordered the donner kebab, the young lad behind the counter was extremely polite, Aaron I think his name was, we got chatting after he noticed my Geordie accent. He asked if I had a kebab from Edinburgh, and I said no, Aaron said, I'll make you one , you'll never forget, boy was he right!!!!!! Everything was fresh, the chilli sauce was something I'd never seen or tasted before, and unless I'm back in Edinburgh, I don't think i will, it was absolutely beautiful, more like a liquid type sauce, but wow!!! “Awesome! I've had a bus to Edinburgh in 20min popped in to see if there is anything they can do in that time. Staff was great with can do attitude, cooked up 2 delicious and let me tell you MASSIVE wraps for less than £20 and in only less than 10min.”
