“I was lucky enough to attend the opening night of Docks Academy yesterday and wow, impressive, is an understatement! The venue is incredibly intimate and regardless of where you are sat or stood, you will feel as if you are on stage .., and the acoustics from the arched ceiling just enhance your experience even more! Docks Academy is brought to you courtesy of Docks Beer and situated above the brewery and tap room in King Edward St, Grimsby. Situated on the first floor in a deconsecrated church, this impressive venue seats 180 and has a standing capacity of 300. This live performance venue will appeal to all, offering everything including music, comedy, arts, theatre and of course, all to be enjoyed, whilst sampling one of the many fine in house beers brewed downstairs. This is a venue that is going places and I can't stress enough, that you really should attend one of their up and coming nights. Putting Grimsby on the map, with a lot of hard graft and overtime .., the Docks Academy will only grow in status .., and I can't wait to go again!”

Originally, the hall was built in 1735 as a private residence for Thomas Atkinson, a wealthy local merchant. It was designed in the Georgian style and featured elegant architecture and exquisite detailing. The house remained in the Atkinson family until the mid-19th century when it was sold to another local merchant named Henry Briggs. Over the years, the hall changed hands several times and underwent numerous renovations and expansions. In the 1930s, it was acquired by Hull University College, which had recently been established and was looking for a suitable venue for its activities. Throughout the years, Middleton Hall has served as an essential hub for the university's cultural and social activities. “I cannot recommend Wise Owl Private Day Nursery enough! My little boy has been attending here since he was 6months old and is now 3. I have watched him develop into such a confident and caring young boy and feel as though nursery has offered him so much support with his needs. They have exciting activities every day and the staff working there are excellent! They help my son with his emotions and have taught him how to understand them and communicate them. The management team are great, they offer a wide level of support in referrals into wider agencies and have helped me through some quite difficult times. If you send your child here, they will be safe, happy and well looked after!”

“We enjoyed a 3hr Walking Netball session with members from clubs in our area. It was organised by Olivia Park who is our East Yorkshire Netball England contact. We had 4 teams of mixed abilities. This time we where playing a mini league with teams from South Cave, Recketts, Haltemprice, Hessle, South Holderness and Withernsea. It was tiring playing 2 full games in a session. It was good to see the other groups.”

“From the booking process to the end of the event, Starbrite was absolutely fantastic. We wanted something different to the usual soft play for our 5 year olds party and initially was worried that the younger kids might find it difficult but nevermind that! The dance teachers did such an incredible job working around the different abilities among the children. The work, time and thought that went into making the event suitable for the age range, as well customizing our chosen theme left me speechless. We did a bit of decorating before but with the lights and final touches added by Miss Emma and Mr. P, everything was stunning and felt magical. We hired the cafe for the parents to wait while the kids enjoyed their time. A few parents commented on how lovely it was to sit and enjoy a very lovely and affordably priced hot drink, some even had a bit of ice cream which was well received.
