“Staff are so lovely and the hotel is really comfortable. Definitely worth the price”
“Horrible stormy night. We were wet and cold and decided to break our journey. Booked room 10 mins before arriving. Welcoming host was pleasant and helpful. We were in room 1 which may have been the last one free. The host made everything easy and with pub next door evening was vastly improved over driving up M1 in storm Claudia”
“Nice town centre, and just around the corner from the high street, clean and good rooms, even thou looking at the high street through the window, it did not make any difference to the stay, well done team travel lodge, this was definitely one of the best travel lodges l have stayed in”
“I rented the top floor here for about a year in 2009-2010 while on a work assignment. No Eastern European sex workers then. Pity. Someone else mentioned the smell of rubbish in the lobby -- the bins were kept too close, is a sort of side hallway with a door. I didn't have to deal with it often as I took the lift from my flat to the carpark most days, but if I was walking out through the lobby to go to the city center for a meal or to take a run, I did notice.”
“Very nice clean and tidy. Big comfortable room and comfy bed. With loads of choose for breakfast just help your self to what ever you fancy.”
“Excellent food and lovely, caring staff. Didn't stay at Hotel as I live locally but if the dining is anything to go by I bet it's wonderful. Hats off to the manager who is doing an amazing job in the face of hard times right now.”
“I stayed here with my partner for two nights at attend a nearby event. Upon arriving i loved the little chalet type rooms. The car park was roomy and i was able to park right outside the door which was lovely as i don't like my car out of sight in an unknown place due to anxiety. Room was lovely and clean but heating was left on and was too hot. Turned off the radiator and opened one window at the front but the smaller window at the back of the room was welded ajar and wouldnt open further or close which i found a bit strange. The bed was lovely but i like a higher pillow which we only found on top of the cupboard on the second night. The bed could have been bigger as i have a superking at home so it felt very 'cosy' which would be uncomfortable in the summer. A fan to cool down the room would be a lovely addition as it was too hot to sleep, i like to sleep in a cool room. It was quiet and peaceful apart from animals on the roof early morning which we didnt mind. The tv had plenty of channels and the tea making facilities were good apart from only having two teabags between the both of us for two nights. No coffee at all. We were lucky we came with extra tea bags, milk and sugar. The room was big enough for all our luggage and room to still move about. Plenty of handwash and shower gel to use which was lovely. The toilet paper was quite rough on sensitive skin though. Housekeeping knocked on the door on sunday morning but we didn't need anything further as the room was still lovely and clean. The reading lights by the bed were lovely and i was able to have my side on to read while my partner slept. The carpets were lovely and clean also. We didn't dine at the pub as we were too late back to order food but there were plenty of ubereat deliveries to choose from which we had instead. I would definitely stay here again if i'm in the area.”
“Spent one night here and have no complaints. The room was clean and comfortable and the food was satisfactory tho the choice was very minimal and basic. What a beautiful location, on the river side.”
“We stayed 3 nights at this lovely hotel on Caledonian break. Reading some previous reviews I can perhaps see why it is maybe not for solo travellers. It is true that It was very busy and there were queues for breakfast and dinner but the restaurant staff are very helpful and friendly and always found you a table very quickly. It is well worth the wait as the food is amazing. The breakfast was as good as we have had anywhere and a lot better than many we have stayed at with loads of choice. Dinner was effectively a choice between a roast, a veggie option and one other like a curry for example but as it was buffet style you could help yourself to as much as you want from each option. The food was always hot and tasty. The hotel itself is fabulous with many comfortable places to sit and enjoy a drink and chat with friends old and new. As we were with Caledonian we had an excursion each day so we didn't have time to walk around the grounds to appreciate how vast and well laid out they were. The local village is a 5 minute walk through the car park by the church and there is a lovely friendly and welcoming pub which we went to before dinner each night. Finally I would say that the staff are a credit to the hotel. Very friendly and helpful at all times. I would recommend this hotel and going with Caledonian you get a fantastic deal as well.”
“Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly, helpful staff. Check in was quick and efficient. The room was spacious, clean and extremely well equipped with everything as advertised. Bed was comfy, shower amazing. Location is very close to the city center, so convenient too. We will definitely be back.”
“This place is very underrated. The lady and gentlemen are very helpful and have lots of empathy for their guests. It is very clean and quiet.”
“I was brought here by my partner for a quick getaway. The room was clean even though it was dated. The beds are large, firm and comfortable. The staff were brilliant, helpful and friendly. The food was out of this world. I proud of myself being a big eater but after just having the starter and main I couldn't go on any further as the meals were of a generous portion. Would I come back here. Yes I would and I will more than likely be back soon.”
“Working locally. This hotel meets all our requirements. Clean, warm and I have to say the staff have accommodated our ever needs and requirements. Bibble the receptionist was fantastic. We will be using this hotel again if we are working in the area again. It is also going through a refurbishment programme.”
“Excellent customer service. My room was very clean and tidy would recommend to anyone who wants to stay here.”
“Amazing place, very clean and tidy. Having the opportunity to stay in a luxurious apartment for such a good price isn't something you find easily in Leicester. Staff members at the desk are extremely kind and provide lots of help and support with anything. A big thanks to Hassan for hosting us and providing all the help since the moment we rang to inform of our arrival. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.”
“Fantastic stay with an amazing host! From the very first moment, I felt truly welcome. The owner is incredibly friendly, thinks along with you (could check in earlier after a long trip), and ensures everything is just right. If anything isn’t perfect, he finds a solution immediately—exactly how it should be. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and exactly what I was looking for. I extended my stay several times at the last minute, and it was never a problem. Also, the internet was the fastest I’ve ever seen—and it’s free! The location is great as well—just a short walk from a shopping street. My stay was an absolute pleasure. Highly recommended—I’d gladly return!”
“This was a good place to stay because it was really a short walk to the De Montford Hall for Concerts will do it again in the future.”
“Had a wonderful stay! The staff were kind, the room was spotless, and everything felt warm and welcoming.”
“I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Shilton Inn by OYO in Leicester! The rooms were sparkling clean and so cosy, making it a proper treat to unwind there. With handy perks like free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen telly, everything was set for a comfy and stress-free stay. The staff were just lovely—always smiling, incredibly polite, and ready to help with anything I needed. Their warm, friendly approach made me feel right at home, and it really made my trip special. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests!Tucked away in Earl Shilton, the hotel’s in a great spot with shops and restaurants nearby, and the free parking was a brilliant bonus. Whether you’re in Leicester for work or a bit of fun, this budget-friendly gem is a fantastic choice for a welcoming stay. I’m already looking forward to coming back!”
“We stayed here on the 20/08/16 . We can not fault the staff as they are friend and can not do enough for you. Room clean and tidy. Breakfast was lovely and lots of variety to choose from. The price was brilliant . If your expecting the Ritz then go to the Ritz. It is what is is but at 44 quid with breakfast it great value for your money. Location is fantastic and i would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank for a great stay :-)”
