“Always enjoy our meals in here. They offer a gluten free menu, prices are decent, broad selection of drinks. Good friendly honest service. Have come a few times now both at lunch and tea. Kids loved playing footy outside in summer. Can be busy but it's a great pub so it will be. Prefer sitting outside with dog as its less noisy, hot and crowded for them. Highly recommended.”

“We had our Christmas meal this week at The Bowling Green, 22 of us, ordering from the large party menu and we had the best night. Communication in the lead up was brilliant and then on the night the whole team were so friendly and attentive and the food was fantastic, everything went perfectly. Thank you for having us! Would definitely recommend it if you are looking forward to take a group.”

“A lovely experience dining here. From walking in to the restaurant we were greeted by a pleasant lady who showed us your table. Our server was Bernie who gave us time to look at the menu. Bernie went above and beyond answering our queries and checking if we were ok. Chefs were Chris and Freddie and our food was excellent. We had the lamb kofta flatbread which was very good. We will definitely visit this restaurant again. Excellent customer service.”

“A very good, very local, very affordable and hospitable tea restaurant. The fact that customers have to wait in line in rush-hour is proof that it is worth the money. The food variety is very diverse, the restaurant offers very delicious food with a wide variety to choose from. As for the service attitude of the staff, it is worthy of praise. They are customer-oriented. Customers do not have to wait for a long time, they can see the food they ordered. It is really good. Even better, the food is fresh and hot items are kept very hot for optimal flavor. I forgot to mention the fish and chips, which is highly recommended, full marks. Of course, all the rest of foods are really, really good.”

“We ordered a lockdown takeaway for my birthday and it was really tasty! It was so nice to be able to eat proper restaurant food after weeks of home cooking. I have been craving seafood, so I ordered three starters - king prawns, calamari and clams - and it was more than enough food! My boyfriend had a main with chips and veg and had enough left for his lunch the next day. Highly recommend!”

“This is a classic venue with 60s and 70s vibes tucked away on Railway Road, it's just a great place to get a coffee they do food as well, it's a proper trip down memory Lane with all the pictures on the walls and the music that's played at reasonable level, so you can chat, and you inevitably end up talking to everybody in there, because it's so friendly, it's also a music venue, where he has entertainment on upstairs in the evening at weekends. Overall, this is a gem of a place and it's a shame to pass it by.”

She checked in at all the right times and made sure everything was spot on. **Leanne** was equally fantastic, bringing great energy and a lovely personal touch. She was upbeat, helpful with recommendations, and made us feel well looked after throughout the meal. Both Carla C and Leanne are absolute credit to the team.
