“A lovely unassuming fine dinning experience in a friendly, relaxed (read unstuffy) environment. Took my mother as a birthday treat for the 3 course Tasting Lunch on a Sat. Started with a Kir Champagne, followed by an amazing little appetizer, which only added to the experience. Fresh made bread like we've never tasted before. A nice glass of wine for us both. The menu is seasonal but we had starters of haddock and pork for me, followed by mains of cod loin and chicken (so succulent). Mum had an apple cheese cake and I, the cheese board, followed by a coffee. All were amazing and not too filling. Service was excellent from all staff from beginning to end. Highly recommended”

“The best burger spot in town. Food is always piping hot and fresh. Side note if you are looking through the reviews there is a false one from last year of a raw burger. That burger is from McDonald's and if you just search raw McDonald's burger it comes up on Google images from a news site. Please don't be put off by the fake review.”

“We absolutely love JJ’s Jungle! It’s clean, safe and full of fun activities for kids of all ages. The play equipment is in great condition, and there’s plenty of space for little ones to run around. The staff are always friendly and attentive, and they clearly care about keeping everything tidy and welcoming.”

“Lovely place. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was delicious. By far the best vegan breakfast I’ve had to date, and my husband enjoyed his choice also. Great selection of food and cakes. Coffee was really nice too. Definitely worth visiting. Dog friendly with marked tables and tables outside too for anyone with one. Look forward to returning. Thank you”

“We had an incredible dining experience at The Fat Italian in Burscough! From start to finish, every dish was a delight. The starters were impressive - the garlic bread, goat cheese and pine nut bruschetta, and pane olio were all delicious and perfectly prepared. For mains, the prawn pasta was good, and the salmon and asparagus was a standout - the white sauce was absolutely amazing! But the real showstopper was the dessert! We were blown away by the Daim butterscotch sundae, it was truly unbelievable!”

“Went on a Sunday and it was very busy, good job we had booked a table for 5. We had black pudding, nachos and pork belly, followed by 4 roasts and 1 pie. 3 of us had to force ( we were already full) on of the best crème brûlée ever. We will be back”

“Great place to stay if you are planning a visit to local tourist attractions - e.g., Rufford Hall - or fancy a weekend break in beautiful countryside. The hotel is a relatively new build whose exterior has been carefully designed to be in keeping with the local properties, but with a modern look and feel inside. I am not sure if there is a lift to reach the first floor where the rooms are located. We had to use stairs, and what this meant for people with limited mobility or accessibility needs did occur to me. The bedrooms are a good size, with a comfortable bed. The only downside we had with the room was the temperature. With the increasingly warm weather we have been having, and we stayed on a hot day, the absence of air con was noticeable. This is clearly a popular venue for locals as well as hotel guests which is always a good sign. The staff were wonderful, feels like it may be family run? Breakfast was amazing! Have the full English because the sausages and bacon (I suspect) were locally sourced and delicious! Thank you!”

“I recently visited this Turkish restaurant, and it was hands down the best I’ve been to. The lamb was incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. The ambiance was lovely, and I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it!”

“Excellent food. Wonderful staff, especially the female Sommelier. Two stand out dishes - Duck liver parfait was brilliant as was the chocolate tart. There’s a nice outdoor area to have a drink before your meal, so I recommend going early if it’s a nice day. There’s a small car park and an onsite hotel.”

“Very last minute booking on a Saturday night accepted and so pleased they fit us in as it was our first visit and certainly won't be our last. The best New Yorker pizza I have tasted. Not my usual choice but I thought it sounded nice and I was not disappointed at all. Really tasty food as agreed by my partner and daughter too. “Friday 18th April 2025 Today, I came to this cosy and friendly micro pub This pub was full of local clentelle drinking mostly a pint of real ale. There were 4 hand pumps on today. 3 real ales and a real cider The staff were ace The beers i had /a Hawks Head pale/was in fine fettle This pub, when drinking real ale in Ormskirk, is a must to come and have a pint in Saturday 14th November 2025 Today I again visited this superb micro/real ale bar This 1 roomed pub had 4 hand pulled ales on offer from local and small breweries Friendly well run easy going pub with great clientelle easy going background music This pub for real ales is a essential visit when in Ormskirk”

“The rice container was filled full of broken rice with only a thin layer of whole grain on top to make it seem good quality. Keema naan only had any keema in about 1/3 of the whole thing. Lids not on curry containers correctly so curry spilled out when taking containers out the bag. However, very quick and happy service. Shame about the quality which is usually very good.”

“Came here on a Saturday afternoon with the kids and it was busy so we were lucky to get a table. They’ve done a great job of renovating this place with a fresh lick of paint and beautiful artwork on the walls. The owners are on the floor serving tables alongside the waitresses which is really nice to see. Food was great and the milkshake was outstanding. We will definitely be back.”

“Had a delightful dining experience at this restaurant. Our servers, Kat, vicky, and Namida, were excellent, providing attentive and friendly service. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by a rude encounter with the supervisor, who not only exhibited poor manners but also got my order wrong. Despite this, the overall ambiance and the efforts of the servers made the meal enjoyable.”

The only issue was that it was very busy, and we couldn’t find a table to sit at for about an hour. This was understandable, considering it was the school half-term. Otherwise, we had a great time!”

Turned out to be a great decision - the food was lovely at reasonable prices for quality and portion size. The service was spot on; helpful and pleasant without being over the the top.
