“This was our first experience with an English tearoom and we are so glad it was at the delightful Dormouse Haven. We had arrived early to rent a Black Prince narrowboat for the canal and Petra warmly welcomed us to stay out of the rain as long as we needed while waiting for our boat to be ready. As tea-naive Americans, we enjoyed her recommendation for Yorkshire tea, and the Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea sandwiches, cakes and scones. The food was absolutely delicious and obviously created with passion. Too much for the two of us to eat so we took the leftovers and enjoyed them that night on the boat. And then some for breakfast the next morning. As a couple of artists, we really enjoyed and appreciated the creativity of the Alice in Wonderland decor and atmosphere. Petra's vision for the restaurant is really cool. And thanks so much to Petra for the hospitality. A highlight of our first trip to England!”

Paul and all the staff made it a brilliant night for everybody, nothing was too much trouble, even supplied a DJ for the night. The buffet food was excellent, and plenty of beers to choose from at good prices. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to book for a birthday party! “Love finding a cosy little corner here to chill out with a gorgeous latte after a shopping trip. I suffer mental illnesses & my phone had died this perticular day after the Xmas shopping I'd done earlier & I'd become so worked up and staff allowed me to charge it up for a little bit, jst enough to let my mum know that I was ok and on way home shortly and that battery had died as well. Staff was so kind and lovely to help me the way they did. To go above n beyond to help someone in distress meant so so much to me. Thank you to the lovely lady who helped me and made sure I was OK after id had my coffee. Thank you so much.”
