“I upgraded to an annual membership as you cannot do the zoo justice in just one visit. Well maintained enclosures with happy looking animals. Information and knowledgeable staff on hand everywhere and very pleased to interact with visitors. Breeding programs in evidence for the rare creatures too. Very educational for youngsters, although in all honesty I go during the week when less children are about. Favourite enclosures, Butterflies, Reptiles, tropical birds and rainforest. (Some of which are open enclosures so you are up close and personal with the animals) Restaurant available on site although I didn't love it. Gift shop good for a souvenir or two.”

“I was impressed by how organized and informative the London Zoo is. I visited with students to do a conservation workshop, and the quality of learning was outstanding. The zoo was incredibly clean, and constructed with so much purpose and intentionality. I appreciated that many animals that require larger enclosures were not located at this property and instead out at Whipsnade, though I still found it a little jarring having a zoo in the middle of a city, with roads literally passing through the middle of it. However, we saw how much work was being done to provide support and care for the animals, and it was clear that they are intentional in all they are doing. Would definitely recommend and visit again.”

“Loving home away from home for our 2 pet rabbits. Had such peace of mind leaving our rabbits with Emily at Animal Elves, in the knowledge that they were happy, safe and very well looked after. Received regular photo and video updates as well. Would definitely recommend!”

I was given an easy form to complete online and we made an appointment. The paperwork was already completed by the time I arrived and I was in and out of the practice in less than ten minutes. “Betti is an amazing dog walker. She has been taking my adopted crossed German Shepard for walks every single day since I got her. I needed someone trusted, especially since my dog arrived from another country, and I can honestly say I can not imagine anyone else looking after my Lusia. I don’t know the vets name and I wish I did but she was absolutely fantastic, and the girl at reception was also a lovely lady and very helpful when speaking to her. I couldn’t of asked for a better service. the vet was very honest, very helpful and great at keeping Pickle so calm when she was examining her. “We had our first visit with our new puppy, Clootie, and were really impressed. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience very positive. The vet gave Clootie a thorough check-up and provided clear advice on vaccinations, flea and worming treatments. We appreciated the information on pet insurance — it’s a challenging area to navigate, so the temporary Pet Plan cover was a helpful way to give us time to research other options. The health plan offered by the practice also seems like a great way to support Clootie’s ongoing care. Overall, we’re very happy with the service and look forward to future visits. Thank you!”

“This is the 2nd time we have used Pennard vets in an emergency situation, both times they have given us a clear indication of costs prior to attending. Their service is excellent, they give you all the time needed and treat appropriately. They try and keep costs as low as possible without skipping on care. Lovely staff, great communication. “Came for a viewing beforehand and I honestly wasn’t too sure, mainly with the length of time they’re alone overnight without access to outside - it seems like this might be standard practice in kennels though. BUT, it seems like he had a good time. It was my first time boarding my 8.5 year old dog (he’s done daycare and stayed overnight with sitters, just not kennels before). He ate his food which was a surprise, but a good sign. I chose Haytor because of the ability for him to play with other dogs. My dog is nervous with new people, but he gains confidence around other dogs. The drop off felt quite like I was being rushed a bit, but this could just be because they’re aiming to spend as much time as possible with the dogs. It would be great to see photos of them whilst there, through Instagram stories for example (although it seems super busy so that might not be possible). I emailed to check on him in the afternoon and got a response the following morning, which was fine. An option to drop off at the daycare time, if your dog is social, would be great too instead of just 10-12 or 2-5! Especially on a Saturday overnight as you do end up paying for two days for around 24 hours as there are no afternoon pickups on a Sunday, so a single sat to sun overnight comes out quite expensive that way, though I understand different kennels have different booking setups. Overall, my dog came back happy, he ate and although very glad to see me, didn’t seem too bothered by his stay. Would recommend to anyone who feels their dog would benefit in a kennel environment from having other dogs around them! Will use Haytor kennels again for my dog. Thanks for taking care of my boy! :)”
