“We popped in to look at some soft furnishings after previously visiting and having a very happy experience about two years ago.. So thinking we’d have a look about which we did only for the staff to recognise us (from 2 years previously) and be aware of what we had purchased and where we were from.. absolutely outstanding service, the owner should be very very happy with his staff. The service we always receive is second to none. So to be recognised from a previous purchase is fantastic.. Btw the furniture we purchased is still as new… So no need to go to the big furniture companies and be a number, just visit The London Road Furniture Company and feel as an individual and very valued.. Congrats and see you soon. Regards Grant and Tania West Malling..!”

    Maru London

    ★★★★★ 4.8

“With a background in kaiseki, Chef Yasu’s cooking always carries a strong sense of seasonality. This visit, set at the turn of summer to autumn, saw two styles of plating shift from vivid colours to the muted tones of fallen leaves, wheat, chestnuts and early autumn earth. The restaurant focuses on ageing, and the highlights were unmistakably the scallop and squid. Although Japanese ingredients in China are far superior to London’s in general, the flavour developed from this ice-water ageing technique was surprisingly deep and expressive. Inaniwa Udon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Intense katsuobushi umami with a touch of sudachi’s bright sweet–sour freshness. Hand Roll ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Crisp nori, creamy minced tuna, rich and silky — packed with pure umami. Anago (Saltwater Eel) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The exterior soaks up the sweet, glossy sauce; the eel is tight-grained and delicate with a hint of sansho. Scallop ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Soft and sticky after ageing, with concentrated natural sweetness. Hirame ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Clean and refreshing, faint acidity opening into a gentle sweetness. Buri ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Light fat, elegant umami, and the distinctive aromatic heat of yuzu kosho. Zucchini Blossom Tempura ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Deep mushroom aroma; the shell is crisp with a mild natural sweetness. A5 Wagyu Tartare ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beef fat laced with subtle truffle aroma; the tart shell is crisp and the umami full. Ika (Squid) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Finely cut and aged until soft, intensely sweet with a savoury edge. Akami ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thickly layered, meaty and full of deep, concentrated umami. Uni ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cold, silky, sweet, with shiso and nori aromatics. Amadai (Scale-On Grill) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Crisp salty scales, delicate slightly sweet flesh, and mushrooms (shiitake, maitake) sautéed into a savoury, aromatic mix. Wagyu ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A5 fillet breaded and fried, dipped in Nagoya hatcho miso — surprisingly reminiscent of Shaoxing stinky tofu in the best way. Tender and flavour-packed. Kakigōri ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Plum and lime — tart, sweet and icy refreshing. Langoustine ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Charcoal notes mixed with sansho leaf fragrance; rich tomalley and crisp-sweet meat. Aburi Ōtoro ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rendered fat aroma with a touch of Himalayan salt. Fatty Tuna Roll ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rich umami and fat in one satisfying bite. Chicken Sandwich ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Crisp bread, sweet–tart nanban sauce, firm and tender chicken. Kinako Ice Cream ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Financier shaped like a madeleine — warm, soft and sweet. Ice cream smooth and delicate, reminiscent of fresh soy milk. Fig Monaka ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Light sweetness with the gentle aroma of mochi wafers. Total bill: £269.1 Recommendation score: 9.2/10”

    Detroit Pizza London

“Ended up here spontaneously on our second date, and it turned out to be the best decision because wow, the food did not disappoint. We ordered the Meat Supreme, and it was incredibly crispy without being too doughy. I genuinely wish I could experience that first bite all over again. The ranch sauce was a bit rich on its own, so something spicy to cut through it would’ve been perfect. The turnover is quite fast, as people tend to eat and leave, so seating wasn’t an issue even on a Saturday. The staff were also really friendly. I can’t wait to come back.”

“1st time using New Anarkali. Takeaway was delicious. This is how it should be done. Delicate tasty food without the oilyness and with a unique fresh and vibrant taste. Had been using the Viceroy forever but Anarkali beats them hands down on every level. Very friendly and even called me back an hour or so after we had finished to make sure we were happy with the food. Will most definitely return and intrigued to try more of their dishes This will be our new go to Indian from now on.”

    Sorrento In

    ★★★★☆ 4.7

“I have eaten a lot of pizza across the whole of London over the last 10 years and Sorrento In is genuinely the best I've had. This is judged on a margherita which in my opinion allows the most important ingredients shine through and Sorrento In's does exactly that. The tomato sauce is next level along with the taste of the dough. Closest I've had to traditional Italian pizza in London - simple as that. I'll be back, obviously!”

“Authentic and truly delicious Indian food right here! The ambience is lovely, the staff are friendly, and the drinks are great — definitely try their cocktails. The special prawns and the different varieties of chicken tikka are a must-try; you’ll love them. They have loads of tasty curries and a good range of soft drinks too. We tried the mango lassi — it was superb! The kids really enjoyed the desserts, and the portion sizes for every dish were generous. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for genuine Indian flavours and a warm, welcoming atmosphere!”

“What an incredible find! If you're looking for genuine Italian food made with passion, this is the place. The homemade lasagna, straight from a family recipe, was absolute perfection—rich, flavourful, and clearly made with love. The wine list was superb, and our server's recommendation was the perfect pairing. We finished with a fantastic dessert that was the ideal end to the meal. The best part was seeing the owner in the kitchen, pouring his heart into the food. That passion is the secret ingredient. We're already planning our next visit!”

“Really lucky to call this place my local. You simply can’t beat the service here, rain or shine they’re always happy to serve because they genuinely care. Aside from the experience, the food is great and very affordable and made or order, and the coffee is freshly made and tastes incredible, they also often have a choice of blends too, to further suit your taste preferences. It’s really hard to go anywhere else and feel this level of hospitality! I will always return, whether it’s for a hangover-cure bacon bagel, or a quick brew before work in the week.”

“What looks both from the outside and the inside like a standard greasy spoon cafe in fact serves the most fantastic food For breakfast and lunch with a very friendly owner, a dedicated team of staff and is spotlessly clean. My veggie option for £10 had two poached eggs on mashed avocado on sourdough, old style baked beans, a piece of hash brown, mushrooms, halloumi and a good size fresh salad. Unbelievably good. My friend had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and described it as absolutely perfect With the meat being very tender.”

“A Charming Escape with Delicious Food and Friendly Service The food is simply outstanding—every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. I particularly enjoyed the steak and guinness pie and fish and chips, which was cooked to perfection with generous portions. The staff here are incredibly friendly and attentive, always ensuring that you have everything you need and it shows in the quality of service. The pub itself is cosy and charming, with a lovely outdoor area that's perfect for enjoying a drink on a sunny day.
