“A wonderfully friendly small cafe with inside and outside dining options. All 3 of us loved the food, we ate half before taking the picture. The portion sizes are good. Custom made sandwiches to order. The Focaccia is made on site and absolutely delicious. The other breads are ordered in from a bakery. They also have Korean and Italian cupboard foods for sale. We purchased a green tea seaweed pack that was reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and smiley, answered our questions about the food and you could see by their interactions with other customers, they have a lot of regulars.”

“I've been coming here for 2 years or so. I've never had any complaints, although they did forget to include a can of coke. Although they did give me one on the house for a really long wait. Anyway the food is just unbelievable, I never go to a different fish and chips shop, Seabream is the best without a doubt!”

“Have ordered many times from here and the food is always exceptional. Beyond that the customer service is amazing, clearly a place who cares about its customers. UberEats had us waiting for around 1HR30MINS for our food, when I called the restaurant they had already spoken to uber and recooked our food ready for the next driver to collect so it was still hot and fresh!”

“My friends & I went to this superb restaurant for lunch today. I have been here on numerous occasions. It never dissappoints! . My friends loved it. VIV’s new favourite. The food was good and value for money. There are alcoholic and soft drinks available and an extensive menu The restaurant is clean and modern and the staff Very friendly and helpful.”

“Too be fair here , I see some negative reviews, OK I see alot of people waiting for thier fish n chips , or what ever they are ordering outside on a Friday . Why ? Because its popular ! Mistakes happen , don't think its fair to down star , for being run by humans . I saw a review about a guy ordering a cheeseburger at midday - yes I feel your pain , but when I tried to order a half pounder I was told it costs too much money to put the grill on ??? , young guy btw.. what I will say is , I normally go up the road MA'S.t.. .ry.. ( I'm not here to advertise) his prices have increased , stealthily. I thought the cods looked small at oval ? But then I havnt ordered one yet , I'm hoping they where a small ? Since the other place has to break of the tail to fit it in the box ( Large) . Price wise , we ll I think the prices at the oval may be slightly higher. One thing is for certain , the owner , the indies man , oldish , is such a nice fella , he always waves at me when I walk past . Think I'm gonna try a large skinless cod soon .”

“All 7 of us really loved our meal and the service was excellent. The best thing for me was that they have a vegan menu too which is amazing! And he even said even if it's not in that section they can adapt it to your dietary needs. I haven't been able to have korma in 10 years and it was soooo good!”

“Genuine restaurant with high standard service and manners. I went in to pay in advance for a large meal and announced I will be back later to pick it up. The staff member was most kind in helping me put together the order as I wanted it. Furthermore, I was late to return and pick up the order and in the meantime the restaurant had closed. The staff member were so dedicated that they had left my order with the next door shop and a note to pick it up. BTW, it was beautifully packed and still hot. Huge thanks to you all and to the guy next doors who immediately brought the order when he saw me outside.”

After visiting the Eastbourne branch recently and having a bad experience, we had almost given up on going but the visit to the Sidcup branch was excellent in every way. Well done to them”

“The best Japanese/Chinese takeaway in town. Great variety of dishes including lots of vegan options. Very tasty and not greasy. Reasonably priced and good delivery. Have never had a bad meal from here. Really nice to eat in the restaurant as well. Child friendly.”

“I came to Penelope’s for lunch with my partner and two friends on Thursday afternoon. The food was absolutely phenomenal and the restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas, the location of the restaurant is stunning with lovely views all around. It’s definitely a hidden gem in the community, if you haven’t checked it out yet you definitely should. To eat we had a few items off the lunch menu which they serve between 12.30-4pm, my friends had a cheese and bean jacket potato and a chilli jacket potato both came with a side salad and they were delightful, the potato was lovely and soft inside and the fillings were loaded! My partner had a fish finger sandwich and I had an amazing falafel, hummus wrap which had roasted red peppers inside, the falafel was delicious I will definitely return for that alone. We also tried from the festive drinks menu an orange hot chocolate which was really delicious and looked beautiful too! We all cleaned our plates and left very full and satisfied, we will definitely be returning especially with all the exciting things they have going on over the Christmas period, the staff recommended us to check out their instagram to see their upcoming events and we’ll definitely come to bring the kids to meet Santa in their Christmas grotto!! If you haven’t been down to Penelope’s I’d recommend popping down, we’ll be trying their pizza next as that looks unreal too!!”
