“First time @Ayat and loved it. Good was great, flavour dishes prepared with care. Interior looks great has it's own unique flair although music was to loud. Service was a bit lacking. We where seated promptly and our food came out in timely manner but the waitress didn't check on us at all (she was on her phone all the time we where there as we could see from our spot). We need to get up and ask her for another round of drinks as she wasn't paying any attention to us at all.And then she got our simple order for drinks wrong, we where the only costumers there so no distractions and it was quite early an a lazy Sunday. Hope that the service does improve as the food was delicious. Will come back to give it another chance for sure.”

“A great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors—sitting in the garden here is always a treat. It’s a very friendly and welcoming spot, made even better by the amazing bartender, Ian. He goes above and beyond to make everyone feel at home, even learning a few words from my native language, which truly meant a lot. I'm always greeted with the biggest smile, and it’s clear the place wouldn’t be the same without him. A genuinely great guy who adds so much to the atmosphere. Highly recommended!”

“We were searching for fish and chips it was like 10.00 pm we couldn’t find any shops only this was opened. We thought they are going to be grumpy because it was closing time. They welcomed us with big smile and they are happy to serve us. I thought maybe they will give leftovers. But they did it from scratch. Tasty, crispy, fresh fish with thin batter that’s what I like . Well packed in a separate boxes easy to carry without mess. They were friendly and generous. I am not a fish and chips person because I don’t oily, saggy cold and thick batters . I would say this is the best place for fish and chips.”

“I have been ordering from them for over a decade now, and the food is consistently good and very reasonable. I highly recommend the Jade Dragon Special Crispy Noodles, which has an assortment of vegetables and several meats and a house special sauce completes the dish, a complete meal in itself for under £7. The prawn crackers are fresh and flavourful, and they've been very kind and helpful when I was convalescing and needed dishes tailored. Always delivered cheerfully, no matter the weather (thank you!).”

“Lovely play cafe.. there are 2 different soft play area for kids to play in… Have never seen my 13 month old enjoy his day this much. It wasn’t too busy too which I like because my child can easily get overstimulated sometimes. Very attentive staff too. I forgot to ask for her name but we will defo come back more often for sure x”

“I had been coming to the Dog and Bull for years before the Refurb and always found it charming. I returned in May to a bright and vibrant garden, dubbed 'the wilderness' the new booths were a welcome upgrade and made the space feel substantial! Besides the cosmetic changes, I have grown to love this pub in my home town of Croydon even more than I did before! We've been so lucky to have an amazing summer and it's been great to see this pub so close to my heart packed out with new and returning people each week! I have been raving about The Dog since May and have invited all my uni mates who talk down on Croydon to have a drink with me There, they've all eaten their words and finally seen the charm that Croydon has that is encapsulated in what I think is the best pub in central Croydon! The staff are friendly and make everyone feel like they're in their local and they have live DJ sets, with music I wish more places would play (deep cuts of Garage, R&B, Jungle…list goes on). I wanted to write this review as we always complain when we don't like an establishment but never give praise to environments where we feel comfortable and want to return to so thank you to all the staff at The Dog and I'm sure you'll be seeing me again in the near future.”

“I had the Sunday roast today and was genuinely impressed by the flavor. It was well-seasoned and, dare I say, even better than what I’ve had at Hawksmoor! I know that sounds bold, but it’s true. The service was fantastic as well; the staff were friendly and personable. The atmosphere was relaxing, making it a perfect spot to unwind. This place is truly a gem in Croydon, and I’ll definitely be coming back often!”

The staff were friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us including setting up table tennis! The DJ mixed in our favourite requests and kept us dancing through the night. “This restaurant is superb. Everything is homemade, even the chilli and garlic sauces, and the meat is wonderfully spiced and flavoursome. It is family run and operated and the pride that goes into the food and service is apparent. I would not hesitate to dine here again and to recommend this place to friends and family.”

Sad to see one other review complaining about their pricing. Everything was transparent and we thought it was superb value.”
