“Visited EightySix Restaurant and Bar this evening in Harrow, didn’t go in with much expectation. On first sight the restaurant looked small when you enter it’s much bigger inside. On entering we were greeted and given the choice to choose our table. Not long after we got seated, the waiter came and handed us the menu. We ordered the spicy wings, veg burger and the chicken burger and the churros for dessert. The veg burger was actual veg, I was genuinely surprised because most places you go it’s plant based and it did not disappoint, the chicken burger was even better with the special burger sauce, amazing. The staff were friendly, approachable and very helpful. Food was amazing, the atmosphere was brilliant. I will definitely be visiting again.”

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Casa in Weybridge, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. Located at 2 Monument Hill, the restaurant exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for both casual meals and special occasions.  Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the elegant yet cozy interior. The staff greeted us warmly and guided us to our table with genuine hospitality. Their attentiveness throughout the evening enhanced our dining experience significantly. The menu offers a diverse selection of traditional Italian dishes with a modern twist. For starters, I opted for the Burrata con San Daniele e Pane Guttiau, which featured creamy mozzarella paired with Parma ham and Sardinian flatbread—a delightful combination of flavors and textures. My companion chose the Calamari alla Zio Pietro, a signature dish comprising squid with garlic, capers, olives, and tomato sauce served on toasted ciabatta; it was both flavorful and satisfying.   For the main course, I selected the Filetto ai Funghi Selvatici, a mature fillet steak in a wild mushroom jus. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and rich in flavor, complemented beautifully by the earthy mushroom sauce. My companion enjoyed the Coda di Rospo alla Provinciale, monkfish prepared with herbs, white wine, garlic, and tomato sauce, accompanied by saffron risotto. The fish was fresh and the risotto creamy, making for a harmonious dish.  The wine list is extensive, featuring a well-curated selection that pairs excellently with the menu offerings. We chose a bottle of Italian red wine that enhanced our meal without overpowering the flavors. Dessert was a highlight; the Tiramisu was light, creamy, and had just the right balance of coffee and cocoa. It provided a sweet conclusion to our meal without being overly heavy. Overall, La Casa offers an authentic Italian dining experience with high-quality dishes, attentive service, and a welcoming ambiance. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Weybridge, I highly recommend visiting La Casa for a memorable meal.”

“Lovely little spot in the entrance of a mixed use space. Lots of morning sunlight (weather allowing) and a few picnic tables out front. Cortado was quite good if a bit pricey. Would have loved to try a crepe but they weren't offering them because they were out of butter... I mean, I get running out of things, but this seems like an easy fix... Oh well... Maybe next time!”

“I have just been back to PLU, for my third time, and it just keeps getting better. I do not know how this place does not have multiple Michelin stars, it is so much better than all of the 2 starred restaurants I have been to. To think that there is just one chef creating all of these dishes alone in the kitchen is absolutely mind boggling. This restaurant should be top in all of the guides, yet it is just quietly tucked away in St John's Wood and no one seems to know about it. Favourite dishes for me this time round... the tuna, no.. the foie gras, who am I kidding it must be at least one of the parts of the 'lobster trilogy'. Maybe it is easier to decide which of the the two desserts was the best... I said the Opera cake & my other half said definitely the Apple & Blackberry Crumble. Thank goodness you don't need to make choices!”

“Went for dinner in 1215 last night, to celebrate an Anniversary. The food was absolutely exquisite (but perhaps I expected that). What made the evening so Incredibly special was the staff. Without exception they were warm, welcoming and really seemed to go the extra mile to ensure our evening was special. We were so grateful to receive such wonderful care -and are already planning our return, but will add an overnight stay next time! I highly recommend this wonderful hotel. I have visited several of the other luxury hotels in the area, but this was by far the best experience I have had!”

“Had the champagne afternoon tea and it was the best afternoon tea I've ever had ( I've had quite a few!,) food was so nice and the smoked salmon and caviar side was unexpected. Each bit was delicious and staff so polite and attentive and kindly swapped our champagne for white wine. Definitely would recommend and the hotel was lovely too. We had a groupon voucher which made it excellent value for money.”

Update from yesterday 28th February. Lovely thai dinner, but mostly it was cold! The main door was constantly closing and immediately opening so the atmosphere was quite chilly.”

Everything I tried was absolutely spectacular, the service was superb (they checked in a couple of times to make sure everything was up to par too) , and the atmosphere was so comfortable. “My absolute favourite cozy date spot in London. I literally felt like I was in the Alps enjoying a fondue after a long day of skiing, only to unfortunately realise I was still in London after stepping out… Food: for drinks we had a 200ml glass of their pinot noir each (we were 2 people) and it felt like a good match for the rest of the dinner. For starters we had the escargots and the pâté. The pâté was fresh and very appetising with good consistency. The escargots were the only disappointing point of the whole dinner. As a fan of the dish in general, I found them to be a bit too oily for my liking and generally the sauce was overwhelming. A suggestion would be to use a bit less oil and tone it down a bit in general. For mains, what I will say is that I did not expect a London fondue to be this good. We had the Moitié-Moitié with bread and baby potatoes and it was perfect. The flavour was amazing, the texture and consistency were perfect, the temperature was perfect, everything about it was perfect. Bread was as it should be - not too fresh - the traditional way and potatoes perfectly cooked. For dessert we had the chocolate fondue which was the cherry on the cake. Nice and rich chocolate with fruits, marshmallows and biscuits. It was phenomenal. Only thing I would say as advice to the restaurant is maybe include more marshmallows and bananas rather than kiwi and clementine because they don’t really go too well with chocolate, especially the clementine. I know orange and chocolate are nice together but fresh clementine is too juicy and the texture of the chocolate gets ruined. Overall it was so good that I will ignore the escargot disappointment and give it a perfect score. **Note for those that will order starters + cheese fondue + chocolate fondue for 2 people: don’t. Unless you have the stomach of an elephant do not attempt this, we eat a lot generally and failed to finish miserably. If you want to taste everything and don’t mind leaving food behind go ahead, otherwise stick to the fondue combo only (no starters) and you will probably still struggle.** Service: the service was great, staff were very friendly and accommodating while the kitchen was speedy and efficient. We were given our alone time but never felt neglected and all the food came out with no waiting time - perfect could not have been better. Atmosphere: AMAZING for a cozy date night or a nice and relaxing night out with friends to escape the London chaos. Decorated with Swiss pots and pans, horns, bells and paintings with beautiful wooden interior. Matched with the beautiful tunes in the background at just the right volume, it was literally perfect. Nothing could have been better or nicer.”

“As the hotel is connected directly to terminal 5 . It makes it easy to do the night before check in, buy any last minute essentials landside, or even have a meal or drink. The room was quiet and comfortable. I had checked in on line so a very quick wait upon arrival for our key, and we were relaxing in our room. Beds comfortable, bathroom a good size. We didn't book breakfast as our flight was at 8am and we didn't want to rush. We grabbed a quick coffee and croissant at the gate, before boarding . Service is quiet and understated, but always consistent. For ease and convenience we would always recommend a stay here.”

“An amazing cultural experience! I attended on a Sunday evening where they had a party downstairs with people wearing traditional dresses, a great never before seen insight into a unique culture. The music (from speakers) spoke in a foreign language and so did the people in the restaurant, the art on the walls were distinct, the table mats had character and I dare even the air felt different! A truly transporting experience, couldn't guess I was in Hammersmith from sitting in Elim! The food was incredibly unique. I had the Lamb Z'gni which was very filling. The dish is served on a silver platter (literally) and I got the chance to traditionally eat with my hands which was a pleasant new way to consume food, I noticed I would take time to sense the texture more and by the end of the meal I got pretty good with my hands! The lamb itself was immaculate, soft and melted clean off the bone, I got to suck out the bone marrow which was surprisingly different and went very well with the stewed chilli paste. The taste of the lamb Z'gni had a beautiful complexion of tangy lemony spice that caught me by surprise, the intense taste was extremely pleasurable and combined with the Enjera ( a foamy thin pancake-ish flour) created a well harmonised balance. They provided a complimentary welcome of vegetables which I really appreciated, the dark greens had a distinct sweetness I particularly enjoyed. Being a budgeted student myself, I'd say this £12 experience was absolutely worth it. If you're looking for a delicious unique experience, Elim is a great choice.”
