“Hands down the best Vietnamese restaurant in london. The food was some of the best we have had, authentic, packed with flavour and simply delicious. The service puts some fine dinning to shame, with is warm, friendly and professionalism. Speed is key here,but with any compromise on service. Note that this place has two locations, one that doesn’t take bookings. Recommend you book during peak seasons. We will back soon”

“It’s a lovely place and very easy to locate. The cod fish was yummy, very big and the chips was massive. It’s a crispy fish and chips. The guy that served us is a very friendly person and give’s good customer service. It’s a clean and decent place. Their spicy wings and chicken side breasts are amazing. “My wife and I dined here in August 2025 and were served by the very witty and extremely professional Gawl.The food was very tasty, the experience is truly unique and like nothing we have done before. When you read its pitch black, it really is. Like you can hold your own hand an inch in front of your face and you still will not see it. This did not put us off in any way, but please do bear it in mind before booking. If it's not for you, that's ok, just know what you are signing up to. Before you enter the room they do take for safekeeping anything that can be reflective (like a wristwatch), but not things like diamond earrings and/or rings (so image how dark it really is if they are not worried about the diamond absorbing and reflecting the light back)! Also, if you need to, you can leave the dark dining space and visit the restroom during the dining experience, but we didn't as that would have "broke up" the atmosphere of truly dining in the dark. All in all, I highly recommend this to anyone who does not have issues with "the dark". I would not repeat the experience as it really is the element of surprise which made it so fascinating for us (like how will you "see" what you are eating - spoiler alert - you dont, and sometimes have to resort to helping yourself with your hands to ensure food is on the cutlery, which sounds counterintuitive, I know!), but I am very happy we did it once. Also, we were told that the menu changes every six months or so, so you can visit twice a year to surprise your taste palette, if you would like. In summary, I would definitely recommend at least one visit in your life and hopefully you get Gawl who made the whole two plus hours fly by! P.S. 1 I have not taken any photos so not to spoil your experiences. P.S.2. Kudos to the restaurant owners for employing blind and visually impiared people. On a very serious note, this restaurant experiences is really exceptionally informative of what it is like for blind and visually impaired people. Of course, the fact that the customer gets to return to their everyday life, whilst those who are blind or visually impaired do not leave this "darkness" is not lost on anyone who gives it a bit of a thought. Really makes you appreciate the "givens" in life!”

“A really incredible food experience made better by the kindest and most enthusiastic team of chefs and staff. Every course was delicious, balanced, and well conceived. Each course also had such a different take on a new element than the last, constantly impressing. We loved hearing how each dish was contrived and redesigned from earlier iterations and seasons. At the end of our night, the staff were kind enough to spend extra time answering our questions about their ferments, reuses, and zero-waste methods. It was a really special experience! My parents, who are not typically a fan of vegetarian heavy dinners, absolutely loved it! A great spot for anyone interested in local, foraged, fermented, or thoughtful ingredients and dining.”

“Moved to St James' Street area recently and tried Chow & Cha just before lockdown and was blown away! Very good value, really tasty dishes packed full of flavour! Generous with the extras too :) Special recommendations for the Crispy Chilli Beef (see pic) - best in town! And the crispy seaweed is A+++ Was sad to see Chow & Cha close for a few months but can safely say (after tonights order) they are BACK with a BANG.... Yum yum yum! “Just like any other Travelodge. This one is a short walk from Romford Underground. If you want to venture out for food and drink it's situated near quite a few pubs and restaurants, so spoilt for choice . The staff were so friendly. Will definitely stop again”

“I found this little place almost by chance-and I just LOVED it. The food was amazing (price was also very low and portions enormous!), the perfect balance between spice and sour (I had their fermented flat bread with 3 different daals and 2 veggie sides). The owner is the sweetest person ever and it is more than clear that this is not a job for him, but a passion. The place is tiny (which is a pro-makes it cozier!) and super welcoming, with decor that makes you truly feel jumping into the Ethiopian culture! They offered me their typical spice tea: a must have! “Lovely experience last night. Staff were friendly and polite, food was lovely, good drink selection. Steak dinner and 2 glasses of wine was about £30-40 (per head). I would recommend the rump steak (in the picture) was so tasty and the mushroom sauce was soooooo good!”
