The crab risotto was everything one is proud to write to home about (as they would say in old days), and in nowadays, yes it’s something they would post on here or insta for!”

“I’ve been coming here for near 40 years! The place recently celebrated their 46th birthday and suddenly made me feel old! An absolute institution. I was lucky to visit way back when it was just 1-2 small rooms and my parents treated to us to this incredible restaurant when we were younger and have continued to visit since! They had been coming since just after it opened and it was once fo the best Thai restaurants you could find! After years of uni and now living over seas it’s on the list every time I come home. Made even more special by some of the staff remembering me including the boss! A true sign of a spectacular restaurant where hospitality is at the heart of its success. Here is to another 40 years I hope!”

“Visited last Monday during a week-long stag celebration and wow what a hidden gem! The garlic bread is quite honestly the best we’ve ever tasted and the cocktails were superb - and I think we tried the entire menu between us! Wonderful service, stayed open for us too. “Rooms were great. No one on Reception a couple of times when we needed help, key card wouldn't let one of us access our room. Quickly resolved when receptionist appeared. Beefeater next door - we had poor service one evening, very slow service by a sullen, unfriendly even rude waitress. Everyone else was friendly, we were just unlucky. We had a show to get to, we did it by skin of our teeth despite having 1 hour 20 minutes to eat. Had to fetch our own menus at one point to try and hurry things up a bit. Food was good just let down by our waitress.”

“So we made a mistake when booking (rather than the 21st to 23rd had booked 20th to 22nd!) and panicked when we arrived about the night that hadnt been booked. The manager put us in the room we had booked and was able to book us into a different room for the following night which we were able to transfer into early in the morning. The breakfast is amazing. The pool is incredible. Special shout out to the pool attendant who let me and my special needs child into the pool close to closing time. We weren't that thrilled with the areas of Guildford we explored, but would return purely for this hotel, fantastic”

“I was introduced to this Beijing restaurant by a Malaysian friend, and I was truly impressed. The food here is very authentic you can taste Malaysian flavours, Hong Kong-style dishes, and traditional Chinese flavours as well. I believe they must have chefs from different backgrounds, because they manage to deliver such a wide range of delicious and authentic dishes. The service is excellent too. The staff are polite, friendly, and very efficient. You can tell that the management is responsible and pays attention to the details, whether it’s clearing tables or serving dishes. Everything feels well organized and professional. I also really enjoyed the karaoke section. After dinner, it’s a great place to relax, sing, and have a small gathering with friends. The system works smoothly, the song selection is up to date, and overall it adds a fun and lively atmosphere to the restaurant. The restaurant is very clean and has a classy, almost five star feel compared to many places in the area. Overall, great food, great service, and a great environment. Highly recommended!”

“I’ve been coming to Mori Sushi now for the best part of 2 years. Each time the food is so consistently delicious and of excellent quality. For example the Gyu Teriyaki Don is our go to, it’s fresh, tasty and highly nutritious we explored the menu and everything is just top notch. I also order the sides such as Takoyaki, this is probably the most amazing side I have ever had. It’s so clean, fresh, tasty and sits on our stomachs with satisfaction every time. The service and experience is another thing, we are always well treated, looked after and made to feel part of the mori sushi regulars. It’s our go to and we love it.”

This is a family owned and run restaurant and such a pleasant change from those formulaic chains. All our food was superb, particularly the fish dishes and great value. Pre-booking is advisable.”

Despite booking a table for 22 of us at very short notice , Bonnie and Jay went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing dinner for my family gathering. The service was attentive and impeccable throughout the whole evening and the food truly delicious with very generous portions. We all had the fixed menu with a selection of starters ( the fried calamari are the best I have eaten in a very long time - even my Sicilian auntie thought they were tastier than the ones in Sicily ) followed by the prawns risotto and fresh ravioli with porcini mushroom and sage which were both heavenly! We ended the dinner with an amazing selection of desserts, all beautifully presented. I live in London but I will definitely drive back to Guildford just to eat at Carlo’s again!.
