“We had someone come and help us out as I am 8 months pregnant and have a toddler so was finding it difficult to find the time and energy. Marie (who took the booking) was really helpful and lovely and the woman who came was incredibly thorough, and also just lovely. She was very mindful of smells and product near me so warned me when she was cleaning near me and was just generally fantastic all round. Highly recommend.”

“I’ve been coming here for near 40 years! The place recently celebrated their 46th birthday and suddenly made me feel old! An absolute institution. I was lucky to visit way back when it was just 1-2 small rooms and my parents treated to us to this incredible restaurant when we were younger and have continued to visit since! They had been coming since just after it opened and it was once fo the best Thai restaurants you could find! After years of uni and now living over seas it’s on the list every time I come home. Made even more special by some of the staff remembering me including the boss! A true sign of a spectacular restaurant where hospitality is at the heart of its success. Here is to another 40 years I hope!”

“Visited last Monday during a week-long stag celebration and wow what a hidden gem! The garlic bread is quite honestly the best we’ve ever tasted and the cocktails were superb - and I think we tried the entire menu between us! Wonderful service, stayed open for us too. We can’t thank you enough, will definitely visit again if in the area!”

“We tried this Lebanese restaurant in Guildford, must say the atmosphere the service & the food is all very good. We tried many dishes, Shrimps, Chicken livers, squid rings, Lebanese spicy sausages, the mixed platter all very cooked very well & was delicious. Would recommend this restaurant.”

“Rooms were great. No one on Reception a couple of times when we needed help, key card wouldn't let one of us access our room. Quickly resolved when receptionist appeared. Beefeater next door - we had poor service one evening, very slow service by a sullen, unfriendly even rude waitress. Everyone else was friendly, we were just unlucky. We had a show to get to, we did it by skin of our teeth despite having 1 hour 20 minutes to eat. Had to fetch our own menus at one point to try and hurry things up a bit. Food was good just let down by our waitress.”

“So we made a mistake when booking (rather than the 21st to 23rd had booked 20th to 22nd!) and panicked when we arrived about the night that hadnt been booked. The manager put us in the room we had booked and was able to book us into a different room for the following night which we were able to transfer into early in the morning. The breakfast is amazing. The pool is incredible. Special shout out to the pool attendant who let me and my special needs child into the pool close to closing time. We weren't that thrilled with the areas of Guildford we explored, but would return purely for this hotel, fantastic”

“I was introduced to this Beijing restaurant by a Malaysian friend, and I was truly impressed. The food here is very authentic you can taste Malaysian flavours, Hong Kong-style dishes, and traditional Chinese flavours as well. I believe they must have chefs from different backgrounds, because they manage to deliver such a wide range of delicious and authentic dishes. The service is excellent too. The staff are polite, friendly, and very efficient. You can tell that the management is responsible and pays attention to the details, whether it’s clearing tables or serving dishes. Everything feels well organized and professional. I also really enjoyed the karaoke section. After dinner, it’s a great place to relax, sing, and have a small gathering with friends. The system works smoothly, the song selection is up to date, and overall it adds a fun and lively atmosphere to the restaurant. The restaurant is very clean and has a classy, almost five star feel compared to many places in the area. Overall, great food, great service, and a great environment. Highly recommended!”

“I’ve been coming to Mori Sushi now for the best part of 2 years. Each time the food is so consistently delicious and of excellent quality. For example the Gyu Teriyaki Don is our go to, it’s fresh, tasty and highly nutritious we explored the menu and everything is just top notch. I also order the sides such as Takoyaki, this is probably the most amazing side I have ever had. It’s so clean, fresh, tasty and sits on our stomachs with satisfaction every time. The service and experience is another thing, we are always well treated, looked after and made to feel part of the mori sushi regulars. It’s our go to and we love it.”

“My experience with Newton Huxley while buying my new home was great. Ella showed me round the property and she was super friendly and knowledgeable. She was very accommodating when I wanted to view the property a second time. I also did other viewings with James who was equally friendly and helpful. After the viewings they were super communicative and quick to respond when it came to offers and helping me negotiate with the seller. All in all a very pleasant experience and I would highly recommend!”

This is a family owned and run restaurant and such a pleasant change from those formulaic chains. All our food was superb, particularly the fish dishes and great value. Pre-booking is advisable.”

“Sashimi quality well , tempura not too crispy ,salmon not too fat and no much fish oil on it means chef skill well,fresh enough, The hamachi set make me surprise, the hamachi maki with spring onions balance the fat of fish just the sushi rice a bit big and a bit sticky but most of the uk sushi always like that so not a big problem.”

Despite booking a table for 22 of us at very short notice , Bonnie and Jay went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing dinner for my family gathering. The service was attentive and impeccable throughout the whole evening and the food truly delicious with very generous portions. We all had the fixed menu with a selection of starters ( the fried calamari are the best I have eaten in a very long time - even my Sicilian auntie thought they were tastier than the ones in Sicily ) followed by the prawns risotto and fresh ravioli with porcini mushroom and sage which were both heavenly! We ended the dinner with an amazing selection of desserts, all beautifully presented. I live in London but I will definitely drive back to Guildford just to eat at Carlo’s again!. I feel very fortunate to live where such excellent care is provided. This service with these standards should be available to all in the UK - including men who also get breast cancer.
