Just a short stroll from Richmond Bridge, it boasts incredible, panoramic views towards Richmond Hill. Beyond the scenery, we loved the true family-style experience, complete with shared tables shaded by large umbrellas which are brilliant for protection from the elements. It's clearly a place that embraces everyone, as it's wonderfully pet-friendly. The combination of superb food and a genuine selection of Munich beers made for an unforgettable afternoon. We can't wait to go back!”

“Hawthorn is 100% your new go-to spot in Kew/Richmond. For some background, everyone who I was with for dinner had previously dined at the Glasshouse at some point in their lives, so when we all arrived for dinner at Hawthorn, we were intrigued about how it would compare… AND WOW our expectations were blown out of the water. Not only did we each quite literally lick the plates clean, but we all felt that each course was complex yet also felt so simple and just plain delicious. We heard that the restaurant just opened a couple of weeks ago, but the food tasted as if the chefs have been cooking together for years. Whether you are there for lunch or dinner, either set menu is incredibly well priced (especially when the food quality is at this level). The sommelier is incredible, suggesting perfect pairings for each course to accommodate every taste bud or finding a bottle that works with a table of diners who ordered a mixture of seafood and meat mains! Conveniently it’s also right next to Kew Gardens station or a short walk from Richmond station - very easy to get to and definitely worth a trip. What an amazing new restaurant in Kew!”

“Wonderful little brunch cafe with excellent food and friendly service! The cafe is nice, with a chilled out, relaxed feel to it. Lots of seating in the garden outside and some tables on the street at the front. The food is excellent. Very tasty. Full English was done very well with excellent quality sausages!”

“This place deserves much higher review points. Everything is perfect. Literally perfect It has been around many years. Feels so cosy with carpet and cushion decoration. Lighting and music really on point and good. Really helpful staff. Enough time between the meals. Had beef tartare and tempura squid and prawn as a starter. Burger and beef stroganoff for main. Cost around £60 per person inc service charge which is really reasonable for the quality they are providing. Thanks”

“This is one of the best restaurants we have been to in London. The staff were lovely and the food was absolutely fantastic. The use of spices was incredible, if you order the potatoes (Aloo Tuk) you will spend the entire meal trying to figure out what they are seasoned with. Absolute magic. Do yourself a favour and get yourself here, you won’t be disappointed.”

“I order delivery as a special treat. The spicy inside out tuna is outstanding, and the soft shell crab is a brilliant addition! Fresh, fresh, fresh fish, the yellow tail melts in the mouth, and the wasabi is very piquant. There is often more fish than rice in a maki, which is very indulgent! It is not cheap, but it is absolute quality. And consistent.”

“Lovely little gem in Putney! Beautifully cooked, genuine Spanish food is so hard to come by in London but this place nailed it. The waitress was super helpful at answering our questions and anything she couldn’t answer was directed to the owner who was cooking solo in the kitchen. Had a really nice chat with both of them when settling up the bill at closing. Will be back in the not too distant future to try the rest of the menu!”

“This place has new owners and a new name. Food is excellent. Decor is improved. Service with a smile. The prices are very reasonable (see pics). There is a lunch menu for a typical set Thai lunch (starter and a main) for£9.95 Monday to Friday. I highly recommend this Thai place in Putney. Update: They changed the lunch menu slightly. Still excellent.”

“New Yorker/New Jerseyan here- this place. is. it. The mafalde is absolutely delectable. It is the simplest meal made up of a handful of ingredients but oh my— the freshness?? unreal. The margherita pizza STUNNED with a classic cheesy, greasy (in a good way) finish, you really can’t ask for more. Even the vegan pizza was delicious, and a quick ricotta sub (i took olives off my half) made it the perfect meal. Excellent vibes, both indoor & outdoor, & excellent food. Cannot recommend it more! “I popped in for a quick lunch before a meeting and I'm so glad I did. I was hoping it would be the same great quality food as it always was at Carluccio's and it exceeded my expectations. The service was attentive and efficient and the food did not disappoint. I opted for a salad but absolutely love the spinach balls that are in the gardiena dish and the waiter was happy to oblige. The spinach balls were lovely and the salad perfectly balanced, the avocado was perfectly ripe and as you can see, it wasn't simply a pile of leaves! The photo doesn't do it justice because I'd already started to demolish it! No wonder this place is buzzing, I will certainly be back!”
