“Great pizza at a great price. I love pizza and normally make my own, but sometimes I'm in the mood for a delivery pizza. I used to just get it from the chains, but wanted to try a local place so ordered their double pepperoni. Price was much better than ordering from a chain, the delivery driver was very friendly, and the pizza had plenty of cheese and toppings. Meat, cheese, and sauce were all very good, but the base/crust was one of the best I've had. They have a really flavourful dough and it was cooked perfectly, giving it a nice texture and slight taste of char from the pizza oven. Definitely will order again from here rather than other places!”

“Well, for a non-local or regular customer, I have been welcomed like I am. What a charming country boozer. The staff are always friendly and happy to serve you. Even the customers greet you. “I popped in on Monday meeting a few friends and even though it was quiet, the decor was absolutely amazing - old school pub with leather armchairs and sofas and a real working fireplace! We ordered some food and were looked after by Emi who I’ve got to say - really knows her stuff when it comes to the food menu ( recommended us the burger and truffle fries ) and the drinks menu. Thank you for attending to us Emi and we will see you again real soon. **New Review** Was with some friends and decided to pop in for a drink or two and as soon as we walked in, the smell from the kitchen immediately grabbed us! We ended up looking at the Sunday roast menu and were looked after the manager Emi who suggested trying the sides of cauliflower cheese, creamy spinach and pigs in blankets - excellent choice! One of the guys also ended up ordering the beef roast and we ended up sharing! Warm and comforting as always! Thanks Emi and the team - see you next time.”

“Great pub. I’ve lived here for years and have seen this pub iterate over and over with different owners. The owner of The Wooden Cross gets it. It’s cool, effortlessly so. It’s a great spot, I’ll be back to eat 1000 of their bagels very soon”

“Great stop for food and drink (especially in the sun). Was recommended by a friend who lived in the area. Atmosphere: We visited on bank holiday Monday for lunch and the atmosphere was energetic. Sat in the garden outside without a reservation (but book ahead if you don’t want to risk it). Lots of tables not too crammed together. Mix of sun and shady seats. Outdoor bar was open so no big queues Food: Nice sourdough (enough to share between 3 comfortably). Fritto misto was great! Fish tasted fresh and was cooked well. Calamari wasn’t chewy at all. Haddock was also really good. Good with allergies. I had a nut and soya allergy.”

“A lovely Sam Smith's pub that adheres to the usual rules of putting down your phones and talking to each other. The beer was as well kept as you'd hope and the staff were friendly. On the day we visited the pub seemed to attract a diverse clientele, some of whom were playing games, others playing pool or darts, and more still sitting in groups and talking. The vibe was lovely, and it's always nice to see snob screens, even if they're not original.”
