“Too the wife and daughter for her birthday, booked in advance on their website, which was easy, and got a confirmation same day. Saturday evening was very busy. The atmosphere was nice , the service was very good and the food was hot, fresh tastie and very filling , and they don't automatically add service charge to the bill”

“We wanted to taste some wines to select for our wedding and were unfortunately unable to make any of the special wedding tasting sessions but Jess at Majestic Beckenham went out of her way to be accommodating. We had a little tasting session at the weekend where she had already selected wines she thought we’d like based on what we’d told her. She guided us through the different wine options, advised us on quantities to purchase and was just generally fantastic. Amazing service especially as we weren’t even ordering the wine through the Beckenham store as our wedding is in Leicester (we also had great service when we called to place the order with the Leicester store). I would highly recommend majestic if you’re looking to bulk buy wine for an event and want some guidance. Thanks again to Jess!”

“I’ve been here several times now since its recent opening. It’s a pretty looking place with a good selection of food both savoury and sweet. Staff are welcoming and you don’t feel pressured to leave. All in all a good local cafe to go to either with friends or alone”

We will be booking for Sunday Lunch next week.There are a lot of restaurants in Beckenham beginning with the letter P but none of them compare with the service and food at Papilios !”

“We came for a Sunday roast. The food was exceptional, huge portions and lots of options (including multiple veggie options). Decor is beautiful. Service was lovely, staff were very professional. The atmosphere was nice but died a little when the music went off around 8.30pm and it implied that it was time for everyone to leave. Also the 14.5% service charge seems steep for Beckenham.”

“I had had a busy day about in Bromley and arrived early from that to a reservation I'd made that day for early dinner (18:15). Prices were properly reasonable for such fine dining. The presentation of each course was spot on, I'd even say en place, buuuuut not my element at this time. The maître d' was professional and courteous. I felt a bit under-dressed but braved through and they brought no attention to this and treated me. At some spirit auguery advice, my royal self reluctantly avoided steak this evening, going instead from chef's suggestion menu, the seared scallops and then sea bass. The scallops were grilled, and tender rather than rubbery as I sometimes 'expect' of scallop. I'd had some grilled halloumi around lunch tiem, and joked that scallops would be right out to pair with halloumi. I think there is this. The sea bass were served seared with skin on, and a sweet tomato salsa, with a potato tower of some kind. Service were quiet and excellent. I did not once feel rushed and I NEEEEED to return for some côte de boeuf or rib-eye some day soon. This should be written. I'll be needing dress better suited. “This is a no nonsense sports bar and the only one in Beckenham (the others are masquerading as sports bars - no sound on TVs and pushchairs everywhere). The bar staff are brilliant and work hard, plenty of big screens with different sport catered for. I’m delighted to be kept safe by management taking security seriously..”

“So glad Refreshers has re-opened! Very friendly and welcoming and now stocking food as well. Good range and interesting variety of stock. Wishing them every success in their venture! UPDATE. Sadly no longer a Refreshers! It’s a Premier but still friendly staff and the store has a huge variety of goods, surprisingly for the size of the premises. It also now has an In Post locker outside which is very useful.”

“The creamiest, most succulent pasta in the south east. Just don’t order the vegan dishes - as they are more flavourless than water I think it was just an unlucky experience, so I’ll be the bigger person and look beyond this unfortunate experience. 5* otherwise”

“Had a meal here recently to celebrate a birthday with friends and had a pleasant experience. Elegant interiors and friendly staff greeted us and we were led to our table. It was a bit busy but we didn't feel rushed or that the place was bursting. Good wine, delicious hot chocolate and since it was a Sunday afternoon, we decided to get the seafood starter lamb and seafood roast. The food was delicious and elegantly plated and looked like art. The courgette fries were a bit disappointing though as they were soggy and the coating had all vanished so it felt like we were having raw courgette slices. That tiny blip aside, the afternoon went perfect and the cheesecake at the end made it even more memorable.”

“Ordered food from here a few times and I've never been disappointed. We've either gone there in person and ordered takeaway or ordered online for delivery. Every time the food has been faultless, loved the octopus and the unagi. Large choice of dishes. Prices a little above average but definitely worth it. We usual order a mixed sashimi set, a mixed sushi set and a couple of other dishes and for two of us it's more than enough. Last time we ordered via deliveroo, took about 30 minutes. The staff are always helpful and friendly.Definitely worth trying the food here.”

“Had superb vegetarian focaccia (mozzarella, sun-dried tomato, aubergine, olives). Cooked to perfection, crispy outside, melty inside. Generous portion and very reasonable prices. They also sell authentic Italian products - pasta, oils, pasta sauces. Also delicious looking cakes, which I didn't try, as focaccia was substantial! Friendly, helpful staff.”
