“Perfect local pub. Family friendly, great atmosphere, warm welcome and so, so friendly. Great range of beers and spirits and an unrivalled juke box. Large room for functions with djaying facilities and in the summer there are plenty of tables outside with beautiful views over the green and beyond, all the way to Winter Hill in Horwich. Thank you for making us feel at home. Lots of laughs and a great day/night. Stayed far too long! Will definitely return again and again and again! :-)”

“Had a couple of beers here on a Friday evening. The guest beer was in great condition and the bar staff were really friendly. Plenty of parking next to the pub. Sports were being shown on multiple screens. Would recommend and visit again.”

“Beautiful. Located in the quaint town of Uppermill, this chic cafe bar is a faithful spinoff of one of Uppermill’s best cafes, Caffe Grande Abaco. This cafe bar has a nice rustic and authentic atmosphere, like a traditional cafe bar you may find in Italy. Also, the staff are really friendly (10/10), especially Nigel (the owner), who was great to me. Plus, I went to Caffe Grande Abaco for 10 years, and it was quite emotional to meet Nigel, as I was always asking the staff at Caffe Grande Abaco, “Is the owner in?”. Now, back to Veloce! The cafe offers a variety of drinks, handpicked from CGA (at this point, I’m going to shorten it - Caffe Grande Abaco). So, you can have a nice latte or a cosy hot chocolate while you chill and warm up here. Surprisingly, it is also a deli, since they have charcuterie meats and cheeses, condiments, authentic Mediterranean pastries and biscuits, and even freshly baked bread (so authentic!). I tried Rogers Pistachio Cruffin (mix between a croissant and a muffin) which was crispy and flaky on the outside, but fluffy and indulgent on the inside, and the silky pistachio cream made it even better. Perfect for breakfast! They also do sandwiches here, with fresh sourdough and scrumptious meats and cheeses and even flaky sausage rolls. What I really want to mention, however, is the fact that they are supporting local businesses. Most things here (the pastries, products and even honey) are made by small businesses in towns near Uppermill, which is really nice as Veloce is helping out those businesses. Overall, this place is a must if you are looking for a proper Italian cafe bar, and some delicious food. It is also perfect if you want to buy some charcuterie meats and cheeses, as they have a wide variety of them. Only complaint is, Veloce really needs to bring in some Arancini, as I don’t see much Arancini in Saddleworth, and I’m very sad about that. “Had a few roasts in the old venue which were stunning Been few times at the old cock and Sundays roasts fab too - I do miss the lamb shanks on the menu but enjoy the other meats we had Have to say the cheesecakes are the best I’ve eaten absolutely gorgeous Would also like to comment the young girl running the floor ( maybe the chefs daughter ) so lovely with a gentle caring and kind approach that always tries to make your experience as positive as possible Only negative be the venue seems so cold :)”

“My first visit in many years despite visiting the Castle pub opposite fairly often. A lovely two room pub with booth seating in the front bar area and a traditional back room. They had two JW Lees real ales on sale but Albrecht treated me to a pint of Guinness. Very good. He had San Miguel.”

“For the last four years we have visited Lancaster park and animal farm for Halloween and every year it gets better. The big kid in me particularly loved this year's theme of harry potter. The staff always go to so much effort staying in character and making sure everyone has fun! Lots of animals to see and feed and a large field filled with pumpkins to choose from. Particularly enjoyed the new marshmallow toasting set up! As always an amazing day, reasonably priced, lots to see and do and will definitely be back again next year!”

“The food was the expected, standard affair. And as good as it was, it wasn't the standout part of our experience. The Service was beyond exemplary. We were served with a high level of friendliness and they were also kind enough to suggest things to elevate our food experience further. One example is asking about the type of bread we'd like in the Full English and another is if we'd like any additional flavouring in our Iced Lattes. This may seem obvious on the surface, but it's something that's regularly missing from the service at other breakfast establishments. It was a little pricey compared to other places, but that can be forgiven due to the friendly atmosphere, good food and exceptional service.”

“My wife and I came for lunch, having previously visited for drinks a few weeks ago. We are trying all the local eateries as we will shortly be moving here. The staff were very welcoming and attentive and it all seemed very well organised. The food was excellent and we both really enjoyed the Sunday Dinner menu which was available on bank holiday Monday. Decor is really nice and the pub has a welcoming feel. Nice to see dogs are welcomed in the bar and garden areas. Will most definately be returning”

“I went with my mum a few weeks ago and it was our first time going since it changed from Kitty's. While I noticed some things were different the important stuff was the same. The food was great, the service was lovely, and in typical fashion we were so full we needed to take the rest home! The cakes are, as always, incredible and you can tell a lot of effort went into them!”
