“The Gill Medical Centre staff go above and beyond to offer help and support. The reception team always do there best to find appointments or signpost to the most appropriate support. The nurses are brilliant and have lots of experience and every GP in this practice listens and are compassionate. I often feel smug when people complain about their GP and I get to say how great mine are, even under the pressures GP surgeries now face!”

My daughter explained she couldn't get a doctor's appointment. The head pharmacist took photos and went across to the doctors for advice. He then came back explaining everything to my daughter. Thankyou. My daughter is extremely grateful for the time and care you took with her. He prescribed a powerful antihistamine as piriton was given at school with no luck.”

After trying 2 of the competitors who were awful at best, I called up Pillo, they immediately answered, helpful and knowledgeable and so far they seem very efficient and just get it right. Drugs and prescriptions are important to get right every time and have to say they do what they say. Definitely worthy of a 5* review and please keep up the great service. “Our family have been patients here for several years now and haven't had any issues; either getting an appointment or with the treatment offered. I prefer the online access, including ability to send in photos and whilst we've needed to go in for an examination on occasion, I find telephone consultations much easier to fit in around work. My only wish would be for staff to let me know when to expect a call, to ensure I answer first time.”

“This is a good Pharmacy. Ignore people ranting. If you use the NHS app to order and track prescriptions you know when the GP has approved and the request is then with the pharmacy, within 2-3 working days my prescriptions have always been processed and are ready for collection. I order over ten items at different times regularly with Fir Rd the only issue is drug stock, specialist items. The communication is good I get an IOU or I go searching a larger chain pharmacy with a big warehouse system Boots who can source. With a variety of lifetime drugs Fir Rd has been a great service to rely on. Well done”

“Had to pick up my emergency prescription from here. Not only did they have it in stock but both the member of staff and the pharmacist himself couldn't have been more helpful! As it was a blue inhaler I needed, before I even had chance to pay, he told me to take a dose of it there and then as he could see that I was struggling to breathe. Both are an absolute credit especially the pharmacist.”

“I had reason to discuss my medication I put in a request for the pharmacist and I received a call from Zahid Iqbal. He was very patient and listened to what I had to say, which was a lot. He asked questions regarding the issue and was very thorough. I have spoken to him previously and he is very friendly whilst being professional. He came up with some good suggestions and I was happy and pleased with the outcome. I feel he's a valuable member of the team. Thank you.”

“Honestly I love this GP. Everyone seems to complain about the receptionist but every time i’ve been in there i’ve never had an issue at all they’re all very kind and friendly and very well clued up too! There’s great doctors at this practice- however there is a very small minority of doctors maybe 1 or 2 that you would have to be very unlucky to get. Careless, dismissive and unhelpful - however once you know who to avoid cough Dr Watson cough and find a doctor you get along with and who cares which is most of them tbh, you will have a good experience. I’ve had a really tough time the last month and have had many appointments and they’ve always been so helpful and reassuring. Actually left one of my appointments with a smile just feeling so grateful for them helping me and being generally so lovely. Dr Price is the best i’ve come across she’s the best! I literally never write reviews but I was curious what other people thought and was genuinely shocked. The emergency appointment system is much better from when they used to make you log onto AskMyGP at 8am. Now you can call anytime from 8am to around 12 noon and then that’s when they will start to triage all of their appointments in order or priority for that day. Much fairer, don’t have to be first in the queue just have to have a priority issue. Even routine appointments are quite good now too, longest I waited for an appointment on a routine basis was around 14days. Good for a routine appointment. The late evening appointments eg at 19:30 are a really good idea and very helpful. Only downside is the pharmacy is closed at those times so you’d have to wait till the following morning to pick it up from the pharmacy downstairs. Overall great practice par the couple bad apples.”
