“Ignore the 1 star review the woman leaving that review looks like she would be happy eating a chicken ball through a tennis racket. Anyway me and my friend had an amazing time I’m glad we stumbled upon it! The food was amazing the staff were super friendly and it was quite cosy in there as it felt like you was in someone’s dinning room. Ideal place for a date as was nice and accommodating. This is now my favourite restaurant!”
“Unforgettable Yoga with Adorable Goats! Our visit to Animal Edge farm was simply amazing! The outdoor flow yoga class with the goats was a unique and heartwarming experience. Afterwards, we got to pet and feed the friendly farm animals and enjoyed delicious smores by the pit fire. The combination of yoga, nature, and adorable goats made it a unique and unforgettable experience. A big shoutout to Danielle and Julie for creating such a wonderful environment to reconnect with nature and animals. Highly recommended for a few hours of nature, yoga, and fun!”
“Just been for a track day there, thought the facilities were great :)”
“Absolutely stunning old pub. Exposed beams, fireplace, low ceiling. Lovely little pub garden too. Sheltered and open.”
“Lovely day today, stumbled on to this beautiful peaceful place in the heart of bedford. £12 lunch for 1 person includes drink I think that price was perfect. Portion size is good too. CHAI LATTE WAS AMAZING. They also had wifi and clean toilets.”
“Such a gorgeous cafe, the food and drinks were delicious and staff were lovely. The mill is full of character and if you want to find out more you can go on a self guided tour by scanning QR codes. Absolutely loved the decor, I will definitely be heading back and really want to try their food truck Fridays.”
“My cousin and I have been for afternoon tea here twice now and will definitely go again. The homemade cakes and sandwiches were delicious. The restaurant and location is lovely but the staff really set it apart as nothing is too much trouble and they were all lovely and very welcoming.”

“Easily the best cafe in Bedford. I have been returning to this cafe with my mum for years and the service and quality has been consistent with each visit. The staff are friendly and the food is great and reasonably priced, not to mention everything arrives quickly. Absolutely love this cafe and I hope it continues to thrive.”

“Excellent food, falls off the bone and full of flavour ! 2nd time visiting and was equally as impressed as the first. Beautiful old building tucked down a road off the high street. Best place I've eaten in the last ten years.”
“Great pub, simple menu but great for a light bite and executed well. Good beer and good service. An oasis just outside of the maelstrom of Bedford.”
“Great place to go for a bike meet, always busy and the food is lush! However they have started to implement a members only thing and have clearly said its not a bike meet. So suggest signing up if you want to go regularly. It's around a fiver for the year.”
“I really love to drink a coffee together with their pastries in this place! Very good place even when you want to buy good bread!”
“Customer for nearly 3 decades now, and just keep on coming back. The best places to eat anywhere in Bedford; a cut above the rest with the best owner and friendly staff, love 'em all. The fresco outside is lovely too. Recommended!”
“I recently organised an afternoon tea baby shower at Papillon Coffee House - From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and we had a whole room to ourselves. They allowed us to get there early to set up decorations and offered to help set up too. The afternoon tea was amazing and everything was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend Papillon Coffee House for any event, especially a baby shower. The ambiance, service, and attention to detail made it a really special day for the mum-to-be and all the guests. Will definitely be back in the future!”
“Great service staff very welcoming, great home cooked food and proper portions”
“Best authentic Italian pizza I have had in England for a long time! Bellísimo!”
“We held our Pearl Wedding anniversary celebrations here and the service, food, venue were absolutely fantastic. Beccy and the team work tirelessly to make everyone feel welcome and make everything run smoothly without any hitches. The outdoor area was beautifully set up and decorated tastefully with music and lighting into the evening it was perfect. Could not have asked for a better day.”
“Amazing food. One of my favourites. Stuff nandos, this is proper authentic Portuguese peri peri chicken. I usually have peri peri, but if you can't stand the spice I recommend medium, so tasty and doesn't blow your tonsils off You must try”
“Absolutely recommend River Cafe if you want a great breakfast and outstanding service. Staff are always friendly and accommodating for kids and the food is spot on.”

“This is a Lovely village pub run by very friendly people. Alas their Google presence is out of date so they don't food (hence no stars) except for Friday evenings but when we're dropped in for lunch they very kindly gave us some roast potatoes and sausages to snack on. I had a really nice pint of ale too. Thanks!”
