The shoes are stunning comfortable and a real conversation starter, I can’t begin to tell you the number of compliments I have received over the years when wearing them. The stores look like nothing else and always feels so decadent to enter one, like a naughty treat. The staff make you feel like your the first person to ever buy a pair of shoes, they make you feel so special. I recently bought a pair during lockdown and the effort that Sam went to was incredible . “Great selection of outdoor clothing, coats jumpers etc. Me I brought jumper, jacket and shoe laces. They do have more nicnac. Customer service very good, they even went in back store to get larger in different colour, which was not on the shop floor. I will go back again to the shop”

“Best boots, excellent shipping service! The boots arrived 2 days earlier, when I open the box I was so excited to see and touch them, fell so nice ( best quality no doubt ). Unfortunately the right boot, was slightly detached at the top from the sole...(but I think is something unusual and doesn't affect the quality of the attachment; I hope). However, they are perfect like this, I recommend them with confidence ! The photo is taken after the first wear.(extremely comfortable as if I was stepping on a cloud). Edit: I bought a pair for my girlfriend for Christmas and they are actually perfect (without that previous imperfection). She adores them !”

“I walked in today with my husband and 2yr old daughter intending to purchase a pair of sandals for myself. The sales assistant was friendly and chatty as she informed us of the latest deals and trends on offer. We ended up getting not only the sandals we came for but two pairs of shoes for my daughter too as the selection was so impressive. In fact I had to stop myself buying more! There was a good variety of affordable shoes as well as some slightly pricier brand names, as well as a selection of different bags. We will definitely be returning.”

“Went into store 27/8/25 with our granddaughter who had broken her ankle 12 months earlier, since then she had not worn proper shoes due to her anxiety about her ankle. We had been to many shoe shops throughout Banbury and MK with no success in getting Isla in a pair of shoes. We went in Charles Clinkards and straight away were greeted with shop staff that so clearly wanted to help with the problem we had. Isla was seen by Madelaine no 6553, she talked and explained things to Isla who is only 9 years old. She came out with loads of different pairs of shoe/boots explaining how certain pairs would help support her ankle. Madelaine was so caring and supportive not worrying how much of her time we were taking up. Eventually she got Isla into a pair of boots, she was so excited she wore them straight away. You must be so pleased to have such a caring and helpful assistant working for you. Madelaine certainly gets 10 out of 10 from us, and we will make sure Clinkards is our first port of call next time Isla needs new shoes. “What an amazing shop. The service is outstanding. I came here today with my daughter and my nan, it's a tradition my nan always buys the kids first pair of shoes here. My daughter was on the move and that was no problem with thr ladies, they sized her feet bought her out 5 different pairs to try she loved it she waved me off walked around the store checking they fit and she was so comfortable. “I’ve not had much luck with my last two pairs of Merrell walking shoes, but they are the best fit for my feet. So when one of the lace loops broke on my second pair, which I had had for 2 months, I returned them to Cotswold Outdoors. Exchanged for exact same shoe, hopefully they’ll be ok. I do wish they stocked more Merrell walking shoe designs, there isn’t much choice. The service from the member of staff was very helpful.”
