“My brother just moved to the area so, first night we just ordered the exact same from both Taj and from Monsoon down the road. Chicken Tikka Masala, Rice, Onion Baji and Keema Naan. The Taj wins hands down and it wasn't even close. This seems to be a much more authentic Indian Curry than down the road which was the bright red Masala you see lots of places. Monsoon is decent enough but The Taj is different league for us. Highly recommend. The Taj is the one on the left in the photo. Proper looking, authentic Masala.”

“Lovely place with a good atmosphere and selection of ales and the usual drinks. The staff are really friendly and the service is great. A simple menu with good variety, well prepared and quick. The gents toilets were by far the nicest I've seen in any pub - clean, smelt fresh, all facilities functional, and nicely decorated. Yes - a well kept and decorated men's pub loo!! Unheard of!”

“We got a take away as we were feeling lazy and as a friend had recommended Haka we gave it a try. We had a mix of bits and loved everything we got, we ordered three rice and were surprised to find that they give big portions of rice rather than the small ones some restaurants do. We’ll be going back as we enjoyed the food and the quick turn around time too - about 10/15 minutes. Be warned you have to pay with cash so make sure to take some.”

“Came in today and ordered some food. I got egg fried rice. Sweet and sour chicken balls, chicken chow mein and a pancake roll. And I have got to say it was the best Chinese food I have had in a long time. I love Chinese food and it’s been a long time since I have been to a restaurant and been served food that was so nice. I’m now sat here with a bad belly because I just couldn’t stop eating hahaha ( I’ve made a pig of myself ) Service was fast. Staff was polite and the food was absolutely phenomenal. “This place serves just about the best fish and chips I have eaten anywhere, I can’t rate / recommend highly enough. The food is absolutely spot on and friendly, cheerful service too. Good value at £9.10 for small cod, chips and mushy peas which were generous portion sizes. The fish is cooked freshly to order and has a nice crunchy batter and perfectly cooked white fish inside. The chips from here are absolutely fantastic - cooked to perfection with a nice golden brown colour, crispy on the outside and soft potato inside. Whatever their cooking process is, double frying, and choice of potato they have it just right and consistently so. I can only assume that the people giving bad reviews are those who like their chips to be the soggy wet undercooked mess all stuck together and stuck to the paper that some other places seem to think it’s acceptable to serve - ignore them, this is fish and chips at its very best!”
