“Popped in for a meal whilst working in area and had the loviest meal, had Chicken Tikka Massala with Pilau Rice, was very nice and freshly cooked. The Garlic naam was the best I've ever had....absolutely delicious!! Oh and the lime pickle went down a treat to. Staff are so hospitable and was lovely that the chef came out and greeted us, real nice touch.”
“We come here quite often, the standard of the food and service is outstanding. Our most recent visit was for our anniversary, the staff could not do enough for us, they made our evening extremely special. Thank you so much for a great evening. We will see you many more times!”
“Great food and service! Would highly recommend!”
“Really tasty food. Opened recently and very worth trying for yourselves. Nice hit of spice and warmth of pleasant heat. Polished down with a mango lotti smoothie. Delicious.”
“Always a bit sceptical when places are rated so highly, but this absolutely deserves 5 stars. Food was phenomenal, the pistachio chicken curry 10/10, lots of unique dishes on the menu. Best Indian we've had and we love Indian cuisine. And great service. We will be back.”
“That was one of the best curries I’ve ever had… and I’ve had curries from all over. After popadoms we skipped starters and I went for the Hook Tandoori Special. Every bite was different, every bite was a pleasure to eat, it was faultless. Big chunks of very well cooked chicken, lamb, fish, prawns, king prawns and even a potato wedge - which was great, because I love Bombay aloo. Chunks of tomatoes, onion, peppers and chillies mixed in with it too - take or leave the chillies but I took them (they’re quite hot). I honestly think it would feed two people, I’ve got a big appetite and struggled on my own, was glad I only had to make it over the road to lie down. If I didn’t live 200 miles away, I’d probably be their most regular customer. I’ll definitely be making a point of visiting again next time I’m in the area. Very well done all, absolutely fantastic!”
“We have tried many different Indian restaurants in Reading but this has been the best so far. Quality of the foods has always been top notch and felt vey fresh with vey authentic taste. We ordered both veg and non veg dishes many times and the quality of the food was always top class. Highly recommend this place”
“Had a wonderful meal here tonight. Very friendly service and food was excellent. Thank you for the little end drinks too. Really recommend you go here.”
“Very good food and unlike other establishments where the staff are going through the motions and friendliness seems scripted the service here is genuinely friendly and attentive. Whenever I have friends visiting Reading, I always recommend to them that we go to the Everest. Atmosphere is nice and chilled out as well. Keep up the good work Everest!”
“The best curry we've ever had! We were visiting the area but wish they were close to where we live! Staff were great. Thank you.”
“So so good, we ordered 5 mains and 5 sides. Each dish was very different to the last and absolutely delicious. I find you can get curry places that are very samey, but it's not the case here.”
“We love the Cromwell. Food is excellent Indian cuisine. Proper tablecloths, proper linen napkins, reasonable prices. Their lunchtime banquet @ £16 is more than most can eat”
“Consistently good food, always authentic and always fresh. Recommend ordering directly for collection for additional discounts, don’t bother going through just eat etc”
“We used to get this delivered when we lived in bramley and it was lush.. tho the week day balti had a lot more taste than the weekend delivery so thinking maybe two different chefs..now moved back to Basingstoke we tried several places for a balti and none have come close to how tasty this one is.. it’s definitely our favourite Indian takeaway by far . Highly recommend”
“Always great tasting food, good value, generous portions, and pleasant and friendly servicr”
“This is without doubt the best takeaway curry you will ever eat. Beautiful, delicious food arrived piping hot (Highly recommend the Mirchiwala) Some suspect reviews on here need to be IGNORED…!!! Takeaway awards are won for a reason…..You are 100% the best”
“I only ordered the onion bhajis for dinner, but wow — they were absolutely to die for. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and flavourful on the inside, and bursting with that fresh, spiced onion goodness. The portion was generous, the seasoning was spot-on, and every bite tasted freshly made. And the mint yogurt sauce? Incredible. Cool, creamy, refreshing, and the perfect match for the warm bhajis. Together, they made the simplest meal feel like something special. Honestly, one of the best onion bhaji experiences I’ve ever had. I’d go back just for those!”
“I have dined in as well as ordered takeaways and I have not had a bad meal from here. Food has always been beautiful. The standard of food is overall better when dining in as you get the food straight out of the pan onto your plate. The takeaways have been above average compared to other Indians in the area. It is the best place for an Indian for miles. Couldn't fault the food or the service. Wouldn't go elsewhere.”
“we order frequently, always friendly over the phone and happy to alter certain things for me. Delivery is usually within the hour and the food is brilliant! Set meals are very good value! Wouldn't order from anyone else.”
“Nice place!!!! Never had the pleasure to try Nepalese cuisine. What a discovery!!! Food was great and service was amazing! The owner and the staff were very attentive. Two extra words for the owner: super character. Very funny and chatty! A pleasure to be here.”
“As a fan of Indian food we thought we would try the new Chili's and we were definitely impressed. The menu being regional to Southern India means it is not what you see in your typical curry house, but the waiter here was amazing, helping guide our choices and tuning dishes to our taste. If I could I would rate them 6 stars”
“Tried Mango Lassi, Dosa, Chicken 65, and Masala Chai — and every bite felt like home. The lassi brought back childhood memories, the dosa was crispy and comforting, Chicken 65 had the perfect spice, and the chai? Just soul-soothing. The vibe was peaceful with soft music, and Anup’s service made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Indian flavors and genuine hospitality.”
“Our 2nd time to this restaurant, we couldn’t believe how good it was the first time we came, and how quiet it was! This place should be packed to the rafters, there was absolutely nothing that could have been better during our meal. The staff were super friendly and frankly I can’t remember the last time I had onion bhaji’s that were so fresh. Definitely recommended, especially if you are a local :)”
“Food was amazing and such super friendly service brought my mum here for her birthday and was so good this is my 3rd time back”
“My brother just moved to the area so, first night we just ordered the exact same from both Taj and from Monsoon down the road. Chicken Tikka Masala, Rice, Onion Baji and Keema Naan. The Taj wins hands down and it wasn't even close. This seems to be a much more authentic Indian Curry than down the road which was the bright red Masala you see lots of places. Monsoon is decent enough but The Taj is different league for us. Highly recommend. The Taj is the one on the left in the photo. Proper looking, authentic Masala.”
“Quick response answering the phone. Polite and friendly. Delivered on time as promised by a friendly driver. Everything was delicious and great value. Would definitely recommend.”
“Spending a couple of days in Pangbourne with my husband so thought we would try out Miah’s and we were not disappointed! We ate in, great atmosphere, staff very friendly and food delicious! Highly recommend and we will be back on our next visit. Shout out to Mr Mohammed who was super friendly and made us feel very welcome”
“Having heard that the Indian Kitchen now allows customers to bring their own alcohol into the restaurant I thought I’d visit last night (Sunday) and found they had a buffet night where you choose anything off the menu for a set price. It was excellent! Probably the best keema nan ever! The head chef even came out to ask how the food was! Definitely will be back!”
“Been going to the restaurant for years, different owners and no change between all in the quality of service and food. Love it”
“We were a large group and all of us had a great time. The service was 1st class. The food was excellent. Some of the best curries in the town. Really nice cozy restaurant, and good value for money. We will definitely be returning.”
