“My parents were over from Ireland and we wanted to give them their first Afternoon tea experience. We all really enjoyed the food! The venue is lovely and cosy with a nice chilled atmosphere. You can also eat outside on a sunny day if you want. My 4 year old son was with us and they made him his own sandwich and gave him a scone free of charge. We had a lovely chat with the manager/owner at the end. Overall we had a lovely experience!!!”

“Fabulous breakfast sandwiches. Knocks all others out of the park. Generously filled, back bacon, Bury black pudding, egg, and the famous 90% pewerk patty. Cooked to perfection, excellent quality and the value is terrific too. Served with a smile and a quick hello from the main man (and his bad back). Definitely be back!”

“Great tasty food, hospitable waiters and reasonably priced curry. They even have gluten free roti/chappati. My curry wasn't full of sugar or heaps of oil. Only negative was that the alcohol is a little expensive considering it's just small beer bottles, not a pint on tap.”

“A good shop for the older woman, good selection of children's clothing. I may be a pensioner but still like to dress as a younger woman.. Next is a good shop for me, can have popular clothing and not feel like mutton dressed as lamb! Prices reasonable and there is a selection for 'petite' woman. Be it spring, winter, autumn or summer I always find fashionable clothes I like. Their on line shopping is easy and quick.”

“Having a relative in the hospital up the road, finding this pub was a godsend. Excellent menu choice and unbelievable value for money. I can highly recommend the fish and chips, Gammon and the Surf and turf. Portions are spot on and the price is great. What makes the pub though are the staff. They make you feel like a regular as you order your first drink. Even though I live over 20 miles away I will make a point of continuing to visit this pub and work my way through the menu!”

“been in this pub few times, the service was friendly, the quality of meals were basic , with that price you are not expecting too much. chips were crispy, chicken wings were plenty. beaware some meals are including drinks. good selection of drinks and their prices were low. guinness was £2.58 a pint. other pubs in peak district you won't even get half a pint. tea and coffee are refillable it was only £1.02.”

“Lovely staff, the new look is very impressive, clean, tidy, fresh and brighter. Food lovely as always. Music enjoyable and not to loud, tv on in background, plenty more seating. Little play area outside for kids. Waitress staff are lovely friendly and super helpful. Love it here been coming for last 10year fair priced too”
