Perfectly cooked, rich in spice, and full of authentic flavor. Friendly staff and quick service too. Easily one of the best Kerala restaurants in the UK.”

“We recently ate here for a family reunion and the staff were incredibly kind to everyone but especially our son who uses a wheelchair and has profound disabilities. They called him Don Lucas (he was sat at the head of the table). They were so thoughtful in ensuring we were all looked after and we spent almost 4 hours enjoying the delicious food and atmosphere. Thank you to all the staff for making us feel so welcome and being disability inclusive. We will be returning for our next family get together.”

“Ordered a South Indian vegetarian sadhya for a function, delivered to Wakefield after being referred by a friend in Sheffield. The delivery was smooth and on time. The food was delicious, good quality, and very authentic — all our guests really enjoyed it. Pricing was reasonable for the quality and quantity provided. “We decided to stop by The Big Smoke for lunch while out and called ahead to reserve a table. The staff were very accommodating, telling us we could arrive in 45 minutes, and upon arrival, they had already prepared a baby high chair, which was a thoughtful touch. The service was friendly and attentive throughout, with the team recommending the day’s specials and checking in on us regularly. Drinks arrived promptly within 5 minutes, though the mains took a little longer, it was nothing too concerning. Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience and would definitely visit again!”

“Large and friendly Asian restaurant, with speedy service. Vegetarian dishes are cooked with vegetable oil, so are generally vegan. I had the vegan Balti Palak Aloo Dhal & mushroom rice, which were absolutely delicious. Would thoroughly recommend.”

“Great tasty food, hospitable waiters and reasonably priced curry. They even have gluten free roti/chappati. My curry wasn't full of sugar or heaps of oil. Only negative was that the alcohol is a little expensive considering it's just small beer bottles, not a pint on tap.”

Today I ordered the nihari, which I wasn’t expecting much as it’s a dish that takes ours to cook properly, the meat fell off the bone, was cooked and spiced perfectly, would have liked it slightly thicker, but that’s preference.
